Editorial Review:

Zane, the New York Times bestselling author and Queen of
Erotic Fiction, brings a new collection of lesbian erotica
that will blow the sheets off beds everywhere.

What happens when "The Finest Man" you have ever laid eyes on is a woman? What happens when a woman comes home to her man after a hard day's work with "Lipstick on Her Collar?" What happens when a married woman runs across the love of her life -- another woman -- who insists that "It's All or Nothing?" Is there such a thing as playing too "Hard to Get?" What happens when "Mom's Night Out" turns into group sex? What happens when you discover your true sexuality "At Last?" All of these questions and more are answered within the pages of Purple Panties.

Written by women from all over the world, here is a new level of lesbian erotica, compiled by Zane, that promises the most exciting and steamy reading experience possible. These stories move beyond race, age, and all walks of life, including long-hidden passions, secret rendezvous with strangers, and May-December romances.

With Zane's ever-growing popularity, and the need for increasingly quality erotica, Purple Panties will satisfy a long-standing demand for African-American lesbian literature.

In the tradition of such successful erotica anthologies as Chocolate Flava and Caramel Flava, Purple Panties uncovers a new world of evocative risk-taking that has never been explored before from a lesbian perspective. The adventures in these stories are beyond everyone's wildest imaginations.

Editorial Review:

Tori Hunter always worked solo, but in Samantha Kennedy she found a partner, in more ways than one. Casey O'Connor isn't thrilled to learn that she has a new partner on the way. It's been hard enough to transition from working with live victims to dead ones. Now Leslie Turner is going to slow down the process.

Professional duty trumps personal issues as the detectives focus on their latest case, a killer whose choice of victim is solitary women. The investigation raises a lot of questions around the killer's means and opportunities. Leslie would be happy if the questions stopped there, but she's also wondering why she'd rather spend time with these women--specifically Casey--than with her fiance.

Casey would also like to stick to business, but as the case intensifies she finds herself also watching Tori and Sam and wondering how they balance their public personas and private passions. Figuring it out is a pointless exercise, she tells herself, because that kind of lightning can't possibly strike twice.

Partners concludes the series that began with the chart-topping bestseller Hunter's Way, and continued with the Lambda Literary and Golden Crown finalist In the Name of the Father -- with the sizzling intensity that only Gerri Hill can deliver.

Medivac helicopter pilot Jett McNally's heart belongs to an Army officer she left behind in Afghanistan, and good-time anesthesiologist Tristan Holmes is no substitute, except possibly in bed.

When Jett comes home from the war and destruction in the Middle East, everyone she knows thinks she should be happy. How can she explain she left a big part of her life behind, including her heart? Flying and the adrenaline-rush of a crisis are the only things that make her happy, and she volunteers to fly night call where all the action is. So maybe once in a while she takes a few chances. Hey, that's life, right?

Dr. Tristan Holmes is an expert at two things--high risk anesthesia and pleasing women. Sure she plans on settling down - later - like in ten years. Until then, life is meant to be lived, and Jett McNally really gets her engines revving. Since she isn't looking for anything more than a good time, Tris can't understand why it bothers her so much that Jett isn't either. After all, why spoil a great relationship by getting serious?

High-stakes medical drama, life on the edge, and love in the fast lane--it's all just routine for Night Call.

A single mother, faithful churchgoer, and the owner of several successful Atlanta beauty salons, Carmyn has devoted herself to her son and his dream of becoming a professional football player. Now in his senior year at college, the smart, and very handsome, Brady is a lead contender for the Heisman Trophy and a spot in the NFL.

As sports agents hover around Brady, Barrett, a beautiful and charming cheerleader, sets her mind on tempting the celibate Brady and getting a piece of his multimillion-dollar future—but is that all she wants from him, and is she acting alone?

Carmyn is determined to protect her son. She’s also determined to protect the secret she’s kept from Brady his whole life. As things heat up on campus and Carmyn and Brady’s idyllic relationship starts to crumble, mother and son begin to wonder about the other—are you just too good to be true?

Another Winner by Ali Vali - Murder and Mayhem 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Calling The Dead is the latest release by author Ali Vali. This is the beginning of a new series and it's off to a great start. This is a romantic intrigue lesfic book, one that is a departure from Ali's "Devil" series in that the main character is a cop, Sept Savoie who's focus is bringing the "bad guy" to justice. She meets and falls for a woman who we hope will figure strongly in the future books of this series, Keegan Blanchard, a chef and part of a family dynasty in New Orleans.

If memory serves me correctly, Sept Savoie did make a cameo appearance in the last "Devil" book, Deal with the Devil, which serves as a nice segue into this new series. It's clear to me that Casey, from the Devil series would get along great with Sept.

This book is darker than the other books that Ali Vali has written, with some hard-to-read scenes. However, those scenes are important for the story and the connection with the Santeria religion. Santeria is the religion that some people refer to as "voodoo".

I love how Ali Vali brings her love of the city of New Orleans into her books. It's clear that she has a passion for the city when you read her books and get a feel for the culture of New Orleans and the French Quarter.

I recommend this book. If you are like me, hungerly waiting for her next "Devil" book to be released, you'll find that you now have 2 series that you are invested in. This new "Sept Savoie" series figures to be a great one. Enjoy it!

Editorial Review:

Detective Sept Savoie is a cop who thinks making a relationship work is harder than catching a serial killer, but her current case may prove her wrong.

Six months after Hurricane Katrina has devastated most of New Orleans, Detective Sept Savoie is battling the nightmare of everything the storm has taken from her when a brutalized body turns up behind one of New Orleans's most famous restaurants, run by Keegan Blanchard. The more Sept works through the clues, the more they point to Keegan, making the relationship growing between them anything but love at first sight. The first death, though, is only the beginning as the miles of deserted neighborhoods Katrina left behind provide the perfect stage for murder.

Romance in the Mountains 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

What better time for Rachel Spangler's latest book "Trails Merge" to be released? A December release for a book taking place at a ski lodge really got me in the mood for skiing and crackling fires.

This book brings 2 people together who are total opposites, at least it sure seems that way. Both are damaged characters who bring their past relationships and lack of trust into interactions with each other.

Campbell Carson and her family own and run Bear Run Ski Resort. Campbell's family means the world to her and she's recently left a relationship with Lynn, who didn't support her family closeness, and in fact ridiculed her for it. Campbell's returned home to the mountain she loves.

Parker Riley left big-city Chicago politics to escape her personal and professional life there. She's not sure what she wants, and she questions why she left a place with theaters, restaurants and trendy stores for a backwater place like Bear Run. She's taken a job as the marketing director and she's driven to do a great job, despite the friction she feels from Campbell's father Greg, who is the oldest brother of the family of owners.

Campbell sees Parker as a big-city snob who looks down her nose at everyone and everything.

Parker sees Campbell as just another example of family-run businesses being "good ol' boy" networks where an "outsider" is doubted from the start.

Despite their differences, they both feel themselves falling for each other and live in fear of what that mean.

This is a great book to read with the fire crackling and a nice cup of hot cocoa.

Editorial Review:

Every skier knows that anything can happen when trails merge without warning.

After a devastating ultimatum from her lover, Campbell Carson returns to her childhood home, Bear Run Ski Resort, seeking her family's unconditional solace and support. Parker Riley escapes to the mountain after the high-powered world of Chicago's political machine leaves her questioning her judgment in both life and love. Despite their initial wariness, the women find their budding friendship snowballing toward romance. The idyllic mountain resort is the perfect setting for them to learn to rebuild trust, and perhaps to find a second chance at love. However, when Parker's past resurfaces, Campbell is forced to face her own hard truths. As barely healed wounds reopen, the unexpected obstacles in their path threaten any hope for a future together.

Can you fall in love in thirteen hours?

It's her birthday but lonely workaholic Dana Watts is at the office late, drafting a proposal. The very last interruption she expects comes in the form of the most beautiful breasts she has ever seen. These belong to an incredibly hot woman, who is standing in front of her, stripping to music.

Laurel Stanley performs strip-o-grams to pay her way through school. She has never encountered a more ungrateful recipient than Dana. The uptight project manager makes it clear that she is furious to be distracted from her work by the "gift" a colleague sent and equally appalled by Laurel's occupation.

After Dana is rude and insulting, and insists on escorting Laurel from the building, the two women take an elevator ride that changes everything. Stuck with each other for thirteen long hours after the elevator breaks down, they discover how wrong first impressions can be and how right two strangers can feel together.

Can everything change in less than a day? Dana and Laurel set out to discover if their passionate elevator encounter can mean more in this fast-paced, erotic story of lust, loneliness, fantasy, and desire.

Confused, yet intrigued... 3 out of 5 stars.
7 of 8 people found this review helpful.

I almost had to stop reading this book because all the incest was seriously turning my stomach, yet I couldn't seem to put it down because I was completely and totally captivated by Mason Sutherland and wanted to find out what happened to him. I've got to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the last chapter and the epilogue, which seemed to make me turn a blind eye to all of the incestuous "love" throughout the course of the entire book. I understand the dynamics of all of it, but I just can't condone the actions, I'm sorry. But, incest aside, I really did love Mason to death because he reminded me so much of one of my best friends when we were in high school, and I truly felt for him with all of my heart and hoped everything would work out for him. This book is a very decent read, and if you can push through the incest, it's definitely worth getting to end!

Riding in my mind still..... 5 out of 5 stars.

Firstly I thought it was just another of those 'juicy' books without much of a feel.
However, as I almost coming to the last few chapters, I began to feel for Mason. Their genuine sincere love between both dad & son, following with Mason's new found lover, especially where the story ends with 'Time in a bottle'.
This book was already two years ago and I am now looking forward to another great work from the same author....
"Alan Holloway, where are you and your new masterpiece?"
