I use this book in teaching a Bankruptcy class to California paralegal students. It is an excellent introduction to the bankruptcy system, and includes discussions of both consumer and business bankruptcies (with a definite emphasis on the consumer side). I expecially appreciate the thorough treatment of the BAPA (laws that changed in October 2005).

Providing readers with official files and forms, checklists and questionnaires, sample completed forms, and particular state exemption lists, Personal Bankruptcy is the essential reference tool as a legally valid production for all fifty states for the non-specialist general reader considering the invocation of bankruptcy to set in order their financial affairs. Personal Bankruptcy is very strongly recommended, especially for those hoping to correctly and lawfully engage in the process of filing for bankruptcy and are searching for a thorough and reliable study on how to proceed.

This review is excellent. Epstein's approach in this Bankruptcy review is to teach the essentials to write a good final exam.

I drive a lot. That's when and why I use these CD's. I listen to them in the beginning of the semester to get the "lay of the land" for the course. Then I listen to them again in the middle of the semester to keep perspective about where we've been and where we're going. Finally, I listen to them a third time at the end of the semester, when everything is review. I have found this to be an EXCELLENT strategy to supplement all of my reading+writing review. This is a constructive use of my driving time, and well worth the expense.

This book is not helpful in any way. I am taking bankruptcy now and everytime I try to use this book the information I need is not included, or it only covers the topic in an extremely general manner. For a much better supplement use the debtor creditor examples and explanations. It is much better than this book.
