This is a highly recommended book by legal professionals. I support their opinion since this book holds a wealth of important information to help people have a vital resource to be successful. It is user friendly and the legal concepts are written to be easily understandable.

The product in itself was exactly what I needed. I am taking a Business Law class as part of my curriculum in Business Administration. I have found the the book is very informative but a little dry in reading. I was pleased with the speed of how the product was shipped but displeased in the condition it arrived in for part of the binding was literally cut down the bottom. It hasn't caused any issues for use but I know I will not be able to sell the book back to anyone without losing half of what I paid for it. My advice is to be aware of what you are buying and make sure that you ask the right questions. This was my first item bought off Amazon and it was much needed for class becuase the bookstore ran out and would be a while before getting any in so really there was little to no room for argument with the vendor. Anyway make sure you ask question and be aware that New does not always mean New!!!!!

I bought this book for my Business Law class. The problem of this book is not that it's not good, instead, is that it's too good to read. With tons of terms and actual court cases covered in the book, trying to finish the assigned chapter before class becomes a really challenging and, sometimes, frustrating task. On the other hand, if you really like this course, this may be the best business law textbook out there. You can really understand the logic behind the law and how the business law has developed to promote fair, justice, and ethic in the US through the reading. I give it a 4 star because 1) as others have mentioned, there are not too many things designed to help you read, like bold terms or spaces to take notes; 2) this book may not be the right one for those who just want to get an idea of biz law and get back to work.

The cases in the 12th edition are excerpted and edited by the authors. The syntax is not altered, therefore retaining the language of the courts. As in the 11th edition, the 12th edition includes a mix of actual AND hypothetical cases. The title has been changed to reflect a new focus of the book – the global and Internet environment. Business Law: The Ethical, Global, and E-Commerce Environment, 12e includes new pedagogy such as opening vignettes and new-boxed features such as Ethics in Action and Cyberlaw in Action. This combined with case briefs and concept reviews, along with some reorganization of the text results in a more complete, relevant and user-friendly text.

I am using this textbook in several of my classes, and let me just say- it has everything I could have hoped for. The chapters are laid out well, many cases are cited, and the student is given actual cases to figure out, with the citations given at the end so he can find the actual outcome. I've found this to be among the best textbooks. It is so good, in fact that I've reccomended it to several of my friends who are going into business for themselves. This covers nearly everything they'll need to know regarding contracts, secured transactions, warranties, etc.
Love the law!

This is an excellent text at various levels of interest, desire, talent and time. The text is arranged that given the time, the Instructor can dig deeper and deeper into thorny topics. Additionally, curious students can rely on numerous web sources for enhanced views and greater depth.

Further, there are additional sources for the Instructor available through test banks and outlines. This is my favorite text to teach from. It is neither dry with enough cases to stir the imagination of the younger students nor MTV'd and contains sufficient current cases to give older students and retired students pause to consider. 5 stars. I am baffled at the negative reviews. Maybe those reviewers were trying to get a quick fix the night before the final. Anyone who disparages the book because it requires them to look up the statute, or because the author has neglected to key it to their particular casebook, is too pampered to be in law school, or to be a lawyer.

A diligent student who uses this book through the course will find it clear, concrete, and immensely useful.

I love the Examples and Explanations series. The book on Civ Pro was perfect. The Contracts book was very good. This book disappoints because it doesn't provide explanations.
This edition refers students in almost every paragraph to look up a portion of the UCC or refer to a statute or case. Instead of explaining Sales and Leases, this editions tells us on every page to look at a provision of the UCC and discover the truth for ourselves. It might be fine as a supplement to online law school, but given the huge amounts of text law students have to read, it is almost useless as a concise explanation of the subject.

Like many Americans, I didn't know much about our country's principles of government or its legal system. This book helped me to become more knowledgeable about both. I admit, this is not reading I would choose to curl up with in front of the fire; this was part of a requirement for my MBA. However, I will remember what I've learned in this text long after my class ends. Having previously been clueless about the legal system, it is now exhilarating to read about, say, how the nine US Supreme Court Justices are dealing with the aftermath of the Gore vs. Bush debacle and actually understand what is going on. The chapters are well-organized and easy to understand. There are even helpful study tips and ways to brief a legal case in the beginning of the text. After completing this book, I not only feel better equipped to handle business decisions, but also feel empowered and enlightened for better understanding our great country.

Great Book. Better than the other Legal Business books. Great cases. Easy to read and understand. Great for Business law. Other books are more about law instead of business law, Not this book. You be the Judge DVD-Rom is great similation of legal business situations. Book is great for learning Business Law.

Don't bother buying this book if your professor teaches the 2004 version of the UCC. I spent hours trying to figure out why one of the chapters was so off base with regard to Accomodation Parties; then I realized the book was dealing with the pre-2002 version of the Code. Brook barely acknowledges the 2004 changes except to note that there are, in fact, changes. Gee, thanks.

I have to disagree with the last reviewer. This book was thorough, and handled commercial paper in a simply and easy to understand way. I didn't take commercial paper in law school, and was completely unfamiliar with the lay of the land. This book was an excellent starting point and covered all the basics necessary to do well on the bar exam. If you are like the last reviewer, and already have a solid enough grasp on the subject matter to be able to nitpick discrepancies between different versions of the UCC, then this might not be a good book for you. But if you are simply looking for a solid introduction to the subject, I highly recommend this book. Considering how lost I was in commercial paper, it was a godsend!

This is an outstanding study aid for secured transactions. Mastering this topic requires learning getting the rules down cold as a prerequisite to understanding how the law applies.

The topics are in the order in which they are covered in most law school courses. At the beginning of each topic are theory cards providing basic black letter principles. These are followed by hypothetical cards. On the back of this card, you'll find information on cites to sources and cases in this subject.
