I bought this book after two of my coworkers went on this diet and both lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks. I've been following the program for a little over a week and have lost 7 lbs already! The best part about it is I FEEL healthier and more energetic. This is not so much a diet as a new lifestyle. I was crazy addicted to a lot of unhealthy things but this book ahowed me how to have things I love but in a healthier way. I've never felt deprived as the plan allows (in fact, encourages) eating all through the day. I am finally losing the pounds that run-of-the-mill deit and excercise couldn't budge after years of effort. I Couldn't be happier!

I dropped 20 pounds in about two months. I never felt hungry or irritable and I almost always feel focussed and alert when I eat according to the guidelines. If you pay attention to everything you ingest and seriously follow the guidelines, then this will definitely work for you. It's not just about losing weight, it's about maximum performance potential. It's not a no carb diet, you actually eat more carbs than protein but you'll have to eat quality, complex carbs and limit your fat intake. It's the only book I've seen that presents every side of each element of the equation: what happens if you get too much protein, fat, carbs and what if you get too little of each. It's written in easy to understand English, with very basic calculations of exactly how much YOU should eat, according to your body fat, height, weight. I've never seen another diet that makes half as much sense as this one does.

This set was a gift for my in-laws, who loved it. The only major thing I was a little disappointed with was the fact that the dining out guide didn't have many of the restuarants in my area. I live in Vermont, and most of the restuarants can be found around the more populated places. On hindsight I would have bought the items seperately and probably skipped that one book, because it doesn't have any relevance in my area. Love the fact that the others are hardcover too. Overall a good buy.
