Black Belt Patriotism by Chuck Norris 4 out of 5 stars.

Great book by a great Patriot. I bought it for my grandson who is in first year high school. I know he won't learn anything true about America in the federally funded schools who get their orders from the ungodly United Nations. America's only hope is a divine intervention.

Cheers for Chuck 4 out of 5 stars.

This is mostly a superb book which should be read by everyone who can read English. I was especially appreciative of the inclusion of The Declaration of Independance and the Constitution in their entirety.
Two things kept me from rating the book 5 stars:
1. The chapters on health and nutrition are inadequate. Both are extremely complex subjects which require separate books each as a minimum. The result is a vanilla treatment of the subjects which detract from the power of the rest of the book.
2.His idea of one Representative per state undermines the foundation of the United States. The House of Representative is the seat of Democracy and the Senate is the seat of a Republic. Our country is neither a Democracy nor a Republic: it is both and that is the true Genius of our Constitution along with the Separation of Powers. However I do agree that the House is too big and unwieldy: maybe 250 mermbers?

Editorial Review:

Martial arts master, actor, and political activist--there is no job Chuck Norris can't do. Now the original tough guy is at it again, stepping back into the role of bestselling author with his new book, Black Belt Patriotism. In Black Belt Patriotism Norris gives a no-holds-barred assessment of American culture, tackling everything from family values to national security. More than a cultural critique of what's wrong with our nation, Black Belt Patriotism provides real solutions for solving our problems, moving our country forward, and changing our nation's course for the better. Chuck Norris--the hero, icon, and legend--is back, packing a political and cultural punch, as only he can deliver.

The GREATEST book ever written 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Occasionally, a book comes along of such great importance that to not buy it--even if it means letting your kids go hungry for a couple nights--would be a crime. In fact, it should be a crime, and I advise you to write your local legislator. Such a book is Our Dumb World, the Atlas of the Planet Earth from the Onion.

The seventy-third edition of this magnum opus offers an even more profound look at the world we live in than any of the previous seventy-two. Some of the new features are mentioned on the cover, including curvier latitude lines and 30% more Asia. And unlike lesser atlases, Our Dumb World includes all the continents, even the ones you'd rather not think about.

The featured maps for each nation are worthy of the Cartography Hall of Fame, should such a Hall of Fame exist. Even obscure countries like France have detailed maps which point out the locations of important sites and regions like the Institute for Pretentious Mustards and the sole acre of France that has never been surrendered to a foreign power.

Of course, a great atlas--and this is the greatest of them all--is more than just maps. There is history: did you know that in 1200, Japan invented karate to defend against invading stacks of wooden boards, or in 1968, it formed a tentative peace treaty with Mothra? There are cultural facts: for example, Ecuador has a Gross Domestic Product of $5.62 and tried to privatize the equator.

I would not recommend this book for children, as its intense brilliance may cause their small brains to explode. For everyone else, however, it is imperative that you buy this book (or it will be once we get that law passed). Sadly, Amazon's rating system restricts the number of stars you can give a book to five, which may be fine for minor writers like Shakespeare or Steinbeck, but inadequate for this book, which merits 1,356,298 stars.

Editorial Review:

OUR DUMB WORLD is the world's most comprehensive fake atlas: a repository of all known information about the planet Earth (except where covered by clouds).

In late 2007 the hardcover edition became one of the hottest books of the holiday season, entertaining and offending hundreds of thousands of readers around the globe. This new, easy-to-carry paperback edition is perfect for the intrepid traveler to any of the world's exotic locales--from Afghanistan, "Allah's Cat Box," to Ukraine, "the Bridebasket of Europe," to the USA's own Nevada, "Where Everyone's a Loser."

Packed with beautiful full-color maps and framed with inaccurate essays about all the world's peoples and places, OUR DUMB WORLD is a gut-busting send-up in which no nation escapes unscathed.

Editorial Review:

What if America's politicians were held accountable for their broken promises -- and made to pay for their corruption?

With a unique flair for heart-pounding dramatic tension, meshed with the technical precision of Tom Clancy, author Vince Flynn brings to life a chillingly credible scenario of Washington under siege -- in a provocative, edge-of-your-seat political thriller.

In a night of shattering brutality, three of Washington's most powerful and unscrupulous politicians have been executed with surgical precision. Their assassins, vanishing without a trace, have delivered a shocking ultimatum to the leaders of the American government: set aside petty, partisan politics and restore power to the people, or be held to deadly account. No one, they warn, is out of their reach -- not even the president.

A joint FBI-CIA task force reveals that the killers are stealth experts, elite military commandos with the proven capacity to penetrate the tightest security and neutralize any target. But no one knows exactly who they are or when they will strike next. Only Michael O'Rourke, a former U.S. Marine and freshman congressman, holds a clue to the violence: a haunting incident in his own past with explosive implications for his country's future.

Compelled by his memories and by his sense of honor, O'Rourke confides in the one woman he trusts, crusading journalist Liz Scarlatti, only to uncover hidden land mines of corruption and murder among the highest ranks of leadership. But as the casualties continue to mount, O'Rourke and Scarlatti make a terrifying discovery -- an appalling truth that the American people can never know if the nation is to survive.

Delivered with the dead-on impact of a sniper's bullet, TERM LIMITS is a tour de force of authenticity and suspense, an all-too-realistic and utterly compelling vision in which the ultimate American ideal -- a government of the people -- is taken to a devastating extreme.

Great book, life changing reading! 5 out of 5 stars.

Reading this book gave me a whole new perspective about life, economics and individual responsibility. It's a must for everyone, even if you are not a student of economics.

This man is a piece of garbage. 1 out of 5 stars.

I literally almost vomitted reading this book for class. This father of Neoliberalism, the murderer Pinochet's pal, has caused immense suffering and destruction in the world with his proven-to-fail free market capitalism. Thank goodness he's dead. Lets pray there won't be another one as evil as him around for a while.

Editorial Review:

Selected by the Times Literary Supplement as one of the "hundred most influential books since the war"

How can we benefit from the promise of government while avoiding the threat it poses to individual freedom? In this classic book, Milton Friedman provides the definitive statement of his immensely influential economic philosophy—one in which competitive capitalism serves as both a device for achieving economic freedom and a necessary condition for political freedom. The result is an accessible text that has sold well over half a million copies in English, has been translated into eighteen languages, and shows every sign of becoming more and more influential as time goes on.

Shane Claiborne's Manifesto 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Love him or hate him, you can't say that Shane Claiborne doesn't make you think. In "The Irresistible Revolution," Claiborne challenges the Church to think differently about poverty, materialism, and love. Part memoir, part manifesto, the book follows Claiborne from his Tennessee childhood to working with Mother Teresa to starting the Simple Way in Philadelphia. While I don't agree with all of his statements (a few times he considers "military intelligence" to be an oxymoron), Claiborne has definitely inspired me to think differently about how I can help make the world a better place.

getting back to the basics 4 out of 5 stars.

I really enjoyed Shane's view on making things simple. Love each other, share with each other, love Jesus. His way of life is not easy for people to take, and hard to follow... but by making small changes, this book and its philosophy can help guide your life to a great new place!!!

Editorial Review:

Using unconventional examples from his own life, Shane Claiborne stirs up questions about the church and the world, and challenges readers to truly live out their Christian faith.

Editorial Review:

Throw out everything you think you know about history. Close the approved textbooks, turn off the corporate mass media, and whatever you do, don't believe anything you hear from the government—The Rise of the Fourth Reich reveals the truth about American power. In this explosive new book, the legendary Jim Marrs, author of the underground bestseller Rule by Secrecy, reveals the frighteningly real possibility that today the United States is becoming the Fourth Reich, the continuation of an ideology thought to have been vanquished more than a half century ago.

This concept may seem absurd to those who cannot see past the rose-colored spin, hype, and disinformation poured out daily by the media conglomerates—most of which are owned by the very same families and corporations who supported the Nazis before World War II. But as Marrs precisely explains, National Socialism never died, but rather its hideous philosophy is alive and active in modern America. Unfortunately, most people cannot understand the shadowy links between fascism and corporate power, the military, and our elected leaders.

While the United States helped defeat the Germans in World War II, we failed to defeat the Nazis. At the end of the war, ranking Nazis, along with their young and fanatical protégés, used the loot of Europe to create corporate front companies in many countries, including the United States of America. Utilizing their stolen wealth, men with Nazi backgrounds and mentalities wormed their way into corporate America, slowly buying up and consolidating companies into giant multinational conglomerates. Many thousands of other Nazis came to the United States under classified programs such as Project Paperclip. They brought with them miraculous weapon technology that helped win the space race but they also brought their insidious Nazi philosophy within our borders. This ideology based on the authoritarian premise that the end justifies the means—including unprovoked wars of aggression and curtailment of individual liberties—has gained an iron hold in the "land of the free and the home of the brave."

For the first time Jim Marrs has gathered compelling evidence that an effort has been underway for the past sixty years to bring a form of National Socialism to modern America, creating in essence a modern empire—or "Fourth Reich"!

Jared 2 out of 5 stars.

Book was terrible. The author was constantly patting himself on the back. The Gambino crime family portion was not even interesting. The only reason I gave this more than one star was because the stuff about the FBI bureaucracy was mildly interesting.

Great Read! 5 out of 5 stars.

I bought "The Making of Jack Falcone" because I saw Mr. Garcia on 60 minutes..Talk about impressive!

I ordered buy the book that night!

I can tell you that 60 minutes didn't even scratch the surface of what this Giant of a Man accomplished!

I consider the 60 Minutes piece a just teaser because there is so much more to his story then just taking down the Gambinos.

When you read about all the other undercover personas that this Hero, (FYI consider anyone who puts the bad guys away to make us safe a Hero)it is just truely unbelivable! I couldn't put it down!

From Drug Lords to Wise Guy's Agent Garcia could do it all.

If he wasn't an FBI agent I think we would see him as an Oscar winning actor.

Speaking of which I just read that they are doing a movie based on the book. If so I predict it wil be the next great Mob Classic film. Can't wait!

I highly recommned this book!!It is a terrific read and flows nicely.. Even if you are not into Mob books,it is a great read about a truly unique indivudual!

Editorial Review:

Making Jack Falcone is the untold true story of the highly decorated FBI agent who went deep undercover to bring down one of La Cosa Nostra's most notorious crime families.

Editorial Review:

In the sobering aftermath of America's invasion of Iraq, Eugene Jarecki, the creator of the award-winning documentary Why We Fight, launches a penetrating and revelatory inquiry into how forces within the American political, economic, and military systems have come to undermine the carefully crafted structure of our republic -- upsetting its balance of powers, vastly strengthening the hand of the president in taking the nation to war, and imperiling the workings of American democracy. This is a story not of simple corruption but of the unexpected origins of a more subtle and, in many ways, more worrisome disfiguring of our political system and society.

While in no way absolving George W. Bush and his inner circle of their accountability for misguiding the country into a disastrous war -- in fact, Jarecki sheds new light on the deepest underpinnings of how and why they did so -- he reveals that the forty-third president's predisposition toward war and Congress's acquiescence to his wishes must be understood as part of a longer story. This corrupting of our system was predicted by some of America's leading military and political minds.

In his now legendary 1961 farewell address, President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned of "the disastrous rise of misplaced power" that could result from the increasing influence of what he called the "military industrial complex." Nearly two centuries earlier, another general turned president, George Washington, had warned that "overgrown military establishments" were antithetical to republican liberties. Today, with an exploding defense budget, millions of Americans employed in the defense sector, and more than eight hundred U.S. military bases in 130 countries, the worst fears of Washington and Eisenhower have come to pass.

Surveying a scorched landscape of America's military adventures and misadventures, Jarecki's groundbreaking account includes interviews with a who's who of leading figures in the Bush administration, Congress, the military, academia, and the defense industry, including Republican presidential nominee John McCain, Colin Powell's former chief of staff Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, and longtime Pentagon reformer Franklin "Chuck" Spinney. Their insights expose the deepest roots of American war making, revealing how the "Arsenal of Democracy" that crucially secured American victory in WWII also unleashed the tangled web of corruption America now faces. From the republic's earliest episodes of war to the use of the atom bomb against Japan to the passage of the 1947 National Security Act to the Cold War's creation of an elaborate system of military-industrial-congressional collusion, American democracy has drifted perilously from the intent of its founders. As Jarecki powerfully argues, only concerted action by the American people can, and must, compel the nation back on course.

The American Way of War is a deeply thoughtprovoking study of how America reached a historic crossroads and of how recent excesses of militarism and executive power may provide an opening for the redirection of national priorities.

The Story of the Civil War vividly written. 5 out of 5 stars.
29 of 33 people found this review helpful.

In his newest work, Harry Crocker makes history come alive. The Civil War has not often been taught well in schools, with the teaching model focused on dates, and not individuals. In "The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Civil War", as he did in his acclaimed book "Robert E. Lee on Leadership", Harry corrects this, making history entertaining, with humor and wonderful anecdotes. I cannot think of a better birthday or Christmas gift for any lover of history that this wonderful book.

Editorial Review:

Get ready for a rousing rebel yell as bestselling author H.W. Crocker, III (Robert E. Lee on Leadership) charges through bunkers and battlefields in The Politically Incorrect Guide(TM) to the Civil War. Crocker busts myths and shatters stereotypes as he profiles eminent--and colorful--military generals while taking readers through chapters such as "The Civil War in Sixteen Battles You Should Know" and culminating in the most politically incorrect chapter of all, "What if the South Had Won." Revealing little-known truths, like why Robert E. Lee had a higher regard for African Americans than Lincoln did, this is the "P.I.G." that every Civil War buff and Southern partisan will want on their bookshelf, in their classroom, and under their Christmas tree.

Editorial Review:

It was the Mogadishu moment of the Iraq war. March 31, 2004, four American mercenaries were ambushed in the Sunni hotbed of Fallujah, their jeeps set ablaze with the men inside. An angry mob dragged their charred corpses through the streets, hanging them from a bridge over the Euphrates River. "Fallujah is the graveyard of the Americans!" the mob declared in front of the cameras. The ensuing US slaughter in Fallujah would fuel the fierce Iraqi resistance that haunts US occupation forces to this day.

Meet Blackwater USA, the world's most secretive and powerful mercenary firm and the fastest growing private army on the planet, with forces capable of carrying out regime change throughout the world. Blackwater was founded by an extreme right-wing fundamentalist Christian mega-millionaire ex-Navy Seal named Erik Prince, the scion of a wealthy conservative family that bankrolls far-right-wing causes.

This is the dark story of the rise of a powerful mercenary army, ranging from the blood-soaked streets of Fallujah to the hurricane-ravaged US gulf to Washington, D.C. where Blackwater executives are hailed as new heroes in the war on terror.
