Creative Resourcees for infants & Toddlers (Creative Resources for Infantas and Toddlers) is a great book, I wish that I would have gotten it alot sooner. It has really helped me with my homework assignments.

Excellent resource for babies and toddlers 5 out of 5 stars.

This is and excellent and useful guide to help you determine what you can do with your baby each day to help him/her develop skills that prepare them for school. The book take time to explain what exactly you are helping to develop and each day can be something different.

A GREAT Resource for Infant/Toddler Teachers 5 out of 5 stars.

I ordered this book when I started teaching in an infant/toddler classroom. Despite my five years of college, I had little knowledge on what these little guys could do. This book has been an AWESOME resource. I love how the lessons are separated by age groups. It provides detailed explanations as well as additional information on why and how each activity is developmentally appropriate. Of the several books I ordered, this one is most professional and designed for teachers. I highly recommend it!

Editorial Review:

This comprehensive resource guide focuses on the development of the whole child. It includes information that parents and caregivers can use to provide quality care for children. Developmental traits are outlined in weekly and monthly increments. Paperback, 480 pages.

Grandparents Delight 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

"Grandloving" is a delightful, informative book packed full of activities to share with your grandchildren regardless of their age or if you live 'a world away'...or next door. The activities are arranged by themes and 'do together' projects or those that are 'sent to' the grandchild.
This book touches on how families can work together creating new relationships as the children become new parents and the parents move into their next role of being a grandparent.
More than an activity guide, Grandloving is a beautifully written book full of common sense suggestions that touch upon how everyone can work through everyday interaction, to how special events and holidays can be celebrated that brings families closer for the happiness of the child.
As a first time grandparent, I am thrilled with this book and look forward to sharing many good times and activities with our new grandchild. This is a must read for anyone involved with children and their happiness.

horrible 1 out of 5 stars.
4 of 19 people found this review helpful.

this book only has about 20 crafts and almost all oif them use thread or pipe cleaners. They should have all of the supplies in the book but they make you go to the store and buy it. The crafts are not interesting and very boring. I suggest you don't buy this book.

Family Fun is Great 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I have bought Family Fun magazine for years just for their craft section. They have great crafts for all ages, many made of inexpensive and easily available materials. I have not only used the crafts with my grandkids but also use them with my Sunday School class, with an age range of 4-13 years old. Many of their crafts make easy and attractive gifts for children to give at Christmas, etc., and they have a collection of things to make for school parties. I highly recommend this book.

Great! 5 out of 5 stars.

Contains a good range of projects to keep the little ones interested and on-focus.

A must have for parents of active minds! 5 out of 5 stars.

As an aunt of two nieces and two nephews and a volunteer library assistant, I've gone through MANY craft books, trying to find a good one since the girls especially seem to love creating their own toys.
This series, and the other books in it, are WELL WORTH the money and shipping time, and what were what originally got me started shopping on Amazon.com.
It's got plenty of illustrations and photos, the kids in it look like they genuinely enjoy the activities instead of just posing for the cameras, and the materials for most, if not all of them are cheap and easy to find for the most part at your local Wal-Mart, K-mart or craft shops.
I recommend the entire series for busybody moms, dads, grandparents, godparents, aunts and uncles everywhere, as crafts and building together area GREAT way to bond with your little ones, and I have yet to see an unsafe craft in the books, so no worry about hazards either. Unless of course.. your kid has a taste for glue. XP

This book is a treasure trove of tomorrow's fond childhood memories, all mingled with a mix of colored thread, delicious cooking smells, softly sparkling candlelight, and the snatches of favorite songs.

Brimming with stories, poems, activities, things to make, and songs, All Year Round offers a friendly guide to the seasonal round of festivals. Helpful drawings and diagrams illustrate this practical book. It contains a wealth of experience that can help families find their own way around the year.

Parents are encouraged to develop their traditions and family ways using this as a springboard. As the authors say, "the words are ours, the festivals are yours."

The authors believe that observing a round of festivals is an enjoyable way of bringing rhythm into children's lives, a way of providing meaningful landmarks to look forward to. Experiencing the unfolding year through stories, poems, and making seasonal tables encourages a love of nature. Each festival has a character of its own, bringing a special gift to family life. Celebrating together is important for families in all kinds of ways. This book offers suggestions about how to get going to all those who wish to deepen their understanding of the festive year.

Fun for the whole family! 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I love the Siblings Busy Book! The many, many activies are all simple to do using materials that are usually on hand. The ideas for how to engage children of different ages (baby through school age) are developmentally appropriate and realistic. These activites do more than keep kids busy; they provide imaginative ways to engage kids of all ages with the world around them while having fun. I got one for home and one for our day care provider, and I know the investment will be more than returned in the hours of fun and learning to be had together.

Editorial Review:

Life just got a little easier for parents of multiple children. The Siblings’ Busy Book provides parents of multi-age children (3 months to 9 years) with unique and simple ways to entertain their growing family. Based on the idea that families that play together are less likely to bicker, authors Hanson and Kempskie have developed 200 activities that all the kids can enjoy together. Each activity write-up includes ways for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age kids to join in the fun. As in other Busy Books, the activities range from arts & crafts, seasonal decorating, outdoor adventures, and imagination stretchers to making music, learning together, and rainy-day family fun.

Building Healthy Minds: The Six Experiences That Create Inte 1 out of 5 stars.
28 of 46 people found this review helpful.

Very disappointing. Whilst I agree with the underlying concepts, the book is repetitive and arduous. New chapters, with interesting headings, merely repeat what was said in previous ones. The contents page tells the story and time spent on reading the detail reveals little new information.

Whilst not disputing the author's experience, as a mother, my intuition will stand me in better stead than the instructions of a strange man. I recommend that other disappointed readers purchase Jean Liedloff's "The Continuum Concept". More concise, thought-provoking and stimulating.

Editorial Review:

Every parent wants to raise a bright, happy, and moral child, but until Stanley Greenspan investigated the building blocks of cognitive, social, emotional, and moral development, no one could show parents how and when these qualities begin. In this book Dr. Greenspan, the internationally admired child psychiatrist, identifies the six key experiences that enable children to reach their full potential. In Building Healthy Minds, he draws upon discoveries made in his research and practice as he describes the many ways in which games, fantasy play, and conversations with and without words encourage this development. No one has looked so deeply into the very earliest stages of human development, and no other book makes such vital and effective information available to every parent.

Teachers ONLY! 3 out of 5 stars.
10 of 10 people found this review helpful.

This appears to be a great book for teachers, however I purchased it because it was recommended for parents. The majority of these life skills are for groups of children who do not know one another. Hardly for an only child to do at home.

Editorial Review:

101 Life Skills Games for Children is a resource guide for parents, teachers, and therapists featuring games that teach important life lessons to younger children and teens. Aimed at children ages 6 to 12, this useful, fun game book is organized into three chapters: I-Games, You-Games, and We-Games. The games address aggression, resentment, honesty, flexibility, stereotypes, performance, self-confidence, respect, and group conflict. The book also offers new strategies for such problems as how to integrate the new girl into the group and how to stop boys from fighting in line. Based on years of research, the book packs skill-building games with step-by step instructions and clearly specified objectives to help children grow as individuals and as part of a group.

Editorial Review:

Sing your baby to sleep with . . . The Love Boat theme song? Children deserve better than that! With its hip approach, witty headnotes, and accompanying CD, Humpty Who? is the crash course for every new mom or dad who wants to give their child the simple pleasures of classic nursery rhymes . . . but can't remember what happens past the first line.

A what-to-read as well as a how-to-read, this collection of 80 judiciously selected, edited, and annotated rhymes, songs, and finger play features all the timeless characters and their stories—Jack and Jill, Georgie Porgie, Little Bo Peep, the Noble Duke of York, Contrary Mary, Wee Willie Winkie, the Three Blind Mice. But it's more than just Mother Goose. There are lullabies, rounds, and riddles. How to recite "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider," and make the hand-motions that have held children spellbound for generations. How to act out "I'm a Little Teapot," or really get a child rocking with "Banbury Cross." Plus, there are explanations for curious children (and grown-ups)—for example, what exactly a "tuffet" is, how to make "pease porridge," what else on the bus goes round and round—and suggestions for reciting the poetry of the greats (Shakespeare, Blake, Dickinson); tips on how to improvise; and the secret weapon of the yoga "Om."

The accompanying CD, featuring the rocking "Hell's Kitchen Moms and Babes Ensemble," is both great to play for baby, and the fun way for parents to learn the music that goes along with many of the rhymes.

Fun for the kiddies on rainy afternoons 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I sent this book to my granddaughter to share with her three little girls. Recently, her seven-year-old was asked by a neighbor to be a mother's helper for her two toddlers. My great-granddaughter immediately reached for the Gymboree book as something she would use to entertain her little charges.

Editorial Review:

365 Activities You and Your Toddler Will Love has four age ranges: 12 to 18 months, 18 to 24 months, 24 to 30 months, and 30 to 36 months. Kid-tested activities — ranging from catchy tunes to interactive games — channel a toddler's natural curiosity and energy into play that builds developmental skills such as balance, problem solving, and language.
