I guess the title should have warned me: CHILDCARE feeding guide. This book is not for parents trying to feed their own kids healthy meals; it is geared toward a daycare setting. Most of the book centers on the logistics of meal preparation (e.g. sanitary food-handling) and common sense dietary information (eat lots of vegetables!). The few recipes that are included don't sound very appealing, plus they feed 8-12 children. If I were a daycare provider I might have given this book 5 stars, but it's not very helpful for a family.

Great Addition to Your Baby Book Library! 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is an easy read and well written. I wouldn't buy it as your only infant feeding reference, but I do consider it a must-have. As the parent of an infant with gastro reflux, I especially recommend it for other reflux parents -as this book is written by a pediatric gastroenterologist who doesn't skip over reflux in a quick, brief paragraph like other baby books. I do appreciate Dr. Vartabedian's inclusion of details such as the minimum calories needed per day by weight (though he does discourage calorie counting!). One extremely interesting part of the book is where he discusses low-iron formulas. After 6 mos., about 27 oz. of formula a day meets an infant's daily iron requirements whereas an infant on a low-iron formula would need 83 oz in one day to fulfill the body'd iron needs. -This is great info to tell your mother-in-laws who claim that your baby's digestive problems or gas are iron-related and insist on a formula switch. This is a book that you do not have to read cover-to-cover. You can simply go to the section appliable to your baby. The index is very comprehensive as well. An over all good book.

Purchased this book after months of my son suffering from constant ear infections even with anti-biotics and two ear tube surgeries. This book shares with us a much different approach to treating this problem then our pediatricians do. I was shocked to read the information and studies about alternative treatments vs. traditional treatments and feel like this book is the key to those parents who are going through what I have been. Your pediatricians will not share with you the research this book reveals. I wish I would have found this book sooner.

I found this book to be very helpful, finally making baby food sounds easy. The recipes cover ages from 6 months through 3 years. She also includes many recipes for the entire family. I use the book mainly as a cookbook, refering to other books for nutritional guidlines for my son.

This book did reinforce my conviction that my baby can grow up perfectly healthy on a whole foods vegeterian/vegan diet (I don't eat any meat and am lactose intolerant and it appears that he is too). However, the book did not provide nearly enough information to guide me in planning a healthy diet for him. It said which foods COULD be introduced when, but not which ones SHOULD be. It did not address complementing as opposed to replacing breastmilk while introducing solids. I am a working mother, but still breastfeeding my 10 mo. old baby 3-4 times a day (including pumping), and am at in dispute with the day-care doctor who says my baby does not get enough protein (At the day care they normally introduce meat at 7-8 months). I expected to find more information on QUANTITIES of solid foods and certain nutrients (protein and others) babies need at what age.

This book will provide an excellent foundation for the believers in Christ to both know and experience the new covenant. Transcribed from spoken messages in 1931 by Watchman Nee and in 1949 by Witness Lee, the two sections of knowing and experiencing the new covenant were put together and published as this book before Watchman Nee was imprisoned by the communists in 1952.

Nee carefully expounds the Scriptures to show the reader the difference between God's first covenant and God's new covenant. "The new covenant," Nee explains, "is God's eternal purpose, which is to work Himself into the man whom He created." This theme pervades nearly all the ministry of these renowned servants of the Lord, and is developed in later ministry as the economy of God.

The three items of the new covenant include forgiveness of sins, the impartation of the law of life, and having an inward knowledge of God. Lee, depending heavily upon the Scriptures, develops these three items from the perspective of the Christian's experience. Based on my reading, I believe that after seeing all that is presented in this book regarding God's new covenant, the seeker of the Lord will likely no longer be content with a mere objective knowledge of God, and he is helped to enter into the relationship with God that He desires. I highly recommend "The New Covenant".
