Too Many Mistakes!!! 3 out of 5 stars.

This book is good cause it is small, has a good glossary of terms/formulas, but there are a ton of mistakes. Some that apply to numbers and make some concepts hard to understand. Plus, they don't explain anything. They show you a concept, give you a couple practice questions, then that's it. I guess that's a way for them to sell the other book and make more money. For the size of the book and overall worth of it to me, I'd pass. The 1st 20 or so pages are good, but the rest was sub-par. I prefer Princeton Review's Cracking the GMAT.

I can concur with others who have pointed out the distracting typos, which also make some of the explanations quite confusing.

This book appears to contain some fairly sophisticated methods for tackling difficult problems on the GMAT--the problem is that they are woefully unexplained and poorly illustrated. In fact, this whole thing reads like a course accompanying product that depends on teacher explanation. Very unpolished and really only of use to advanced students and those looking to get their hands on more practice problems. Go with the other other Manhattan series if you're looking for one good set of books.

I had ordered the book and selected free shipping. I wish the free shipping had faster delivery. The delivery date was set for about two weeks. I was surprised to receive the book in 10 days. Great service and product.

I was in a dilemma when I went out to buy this book. The dilemma was whether to buy this one or the Kaplan premier 2009 but I finally decided to buy this book after some hours of time spend at the near by book store reviewing their indexes and content.

All topics of premier program of Kaplan are covered in this book except the math review which they had touch based in the appendix section . So I can easily conclude that this book is just a similar book as Kaplan premier program book just without a CD-Rom at half price.

As you all know ,Kaplan is a must for GMATtest prep along with the Official Guides so no doubt that one should get this for effective preparation.

I have an engineering background and I strongly suggest others with a similar one or even more better some basic high school math knowledge not to buy this book. I could complete this book and all of its 'exercises' in an hour. All it does is repeats very basic math knowledge which I bet you will not forget even after 50 years from now. All in all bad book for GMAT Geometry preparation. Now I have look for ways to sell this book which I bought two days ago... any buyers? not a scratch on the paper and is all in mint condition.

Better than the Dummies Equivalent 4 out of 5 stars.

This book covers a lot of ground and is easy to follow (sometimes too easy). A lot of the contents can be redundant for those with a background in marketing, finance, etc. but it is well rounded. I compared it to the Dummies equivalent and found this one to be a better read (I usually buy Dummies though - this is my first Idiots guide).

I wanted a survey of what a trained manager learns/uses from school and this book met that goal. I have some management experience but there are large gaps in my training (e.g. accounting, etc.) At least now I know what I don't know. I particularly benefited from the accounting, billing sections. It goes far enough to explain the double entry ledger, how it works, etc.; kind of a diluted Accounting 101. This is the approach of the book on each topic as it plods over the curriculum of a business degree.

Putting MBA in the title seems a little generous to me, it seems more like an introduction/survey of a business minor/major, but whatever. Some of the sections are a little longer than they have to be, the book seems a long read for what it accomplishes.

The author does a good job of getting you into the mindset of an upwardly mobile manager to see how they think to organize work and people so they can take the next step up. Basic trade offs in investment, accuracy in accounting, how to hire, when to fire, etc. are all described in practical terms. Very easy to read and the index is useful.

If you are a new entrepreneur with limited business exposure, or an older hand with gaps in your business education, this book could save you a lot trouble. It will not be of much use in areas where you already have real world experience. It can seem basic to the point of boring where you are experienced. But, this is about what to expect from the title of the book so I think it does its intended job pretty well.

The book takes a different approach on vocabulary building. Unlike the other test prepration of books I have seen, this book does not present you with list of words to memorize.

The best feature of this book is that it makes you work on each new word. I agree with the authors on the fact that this is an effective approach. However, the words listed in this book are not quite the standard of GRE/GMAT. This book would be helpful to those who might be writing the SATs or are just beginning their GMAT/GRE preparation with a very limited vocabulary.

I don't regret buying this book at all, since it isn't very expensive and also i can use the "strategy" of this book with more complex words.

This book can be valuable to those who never did well in grammar school and high school arithmetic or to those whose rudimentry math is extremely rusty. The book covers the simplest portion of GMAT quant section(fractons, decimals, percents). As its name implies, this book covers mostly rudimentry arithmetic which is sure to bore many GMAT takers.

I have found only 7 questions which I personally found somewhat challenging. Worse yet, the real GMAT questions are signficantly (but not substantially) more difficult than the questions presented in this book.

Still, this book provides valuable review of arithmetic. I was going to grant this book 4 stars but the explanation of the answers were really dumbed down to those who would have trouble with rudimentry arithmatic. Given that I could solve most of the problems in this book in my head, I have found book's advocacy of grids to solve basic arithmatic problems to be counterproductive.

A very good solutions book for those tough math questions in the Study Guide! Many different ways of solving the very same problem is laid out. I also like the tables in the back of the book. They re-sorted all the OG and Study Guide questions by type and topic. Very useful if you want to tackle one major math topic at one time in a progressive manner!

Awesome explanations! Sometimes even eye-opening solutions. Good to know there's more than one way to skin a cat. I think we should all try to use the shortest cut to solve any problem to gain valuable time on those ones we are unsure about.

I got the entire 4 book set. Heard great things from my colleagues about this series. They really lived up to my expectation though the book covers could have been laminated to make them sturdier! The solutions are very details. In the back, it also sorts all the official guide questions by type and by number. Studying using both Turbocharge and OG is very effective for me.
