Too Many Mistakes!!! 3 out of 5 stars.

This book is good cause it is small, has a good glossary of terms/formulas, but there are a ton of mistakes. Some that apply to numbers and make some concepts hard to understand. Plus, they don't explain anything. They show you a concept, give you a couple practice questions, then that's it. I guess that's a way for them to sell the other book and make more money. For the size of the book and overall worth of it to me, I'd pass. The 1st 20 or so pages are good, but the rest was sub-par. I prefer Princeton Review's Cracking the GMAT.

I can concur with others who have pointed out the distracting typos, which also make some of the explanations quite confusing.

This book appears to contain some fairly sophisticated methods for tackling difficult problems on the GMAT--the problem is that they are woefully unexplained and poorly illustrated. In fact, this whole thing reads like a course accompanying product that depends on teacher explanation. Very unpolished and really only of use to advanced students and those looking to get their hands on more practice problems. Go with the other other Manhattan series if you're looking for one good set of books.

I had ordered the book and selected free shipping. I wish the free shipping had faster delivery. The delivery date was set for about two weeks. I was surprised to receive the book in 10 days. Great service and product.

I was in a dilemma when I went out to buy this book. The dilemma was whether to buy this one or the Kaplan premier 2009 but I finally decided to buy this book after some hours of time spend at the near by book store reviewing their indexes and content.

All topics of premier program of Kaplan are covered in this book except the math review which they had touch based in the appendix section . So I can easily conclude that this book is just a similar book as Kaplan premier program book just without a CD-Rom at half price.

As you all know ,Kaplan is a must for GMATtest prep along with the Official Guides so no doubt that one should get this for effective preparation.

I was really impressed with this Kaplan book. I purchased it because I was debating about whether or not I wanted to pursue a Ph.D. This book gives you step by step guides on how to apply (from writing essays to asking for recommendations), how to find money for school (scholarships, school funding, loans: types of, etc.), and wake-up calls on the real-life of a Ph.D. student and after graduation. There is also a section in the back on where to find scholarship money.

I read this book straight through with a highlighter and pencil and it helped me get through the application process smoothly. It's well written and user friendly. I strongly recommend purchasing this book even if you're just thinking about applying to graduate school. It really makes you think about the entire process, not just the "going-to-school" part.

First of all, this book is not as bad as others make it out to be. But I think people should realize that this book is NOT a complete guide for the DAT. The science review sections were condensed...very much like preliminary lecture notes. However, the PAT section was very helpful. I found the level of hardness on the real test very similar to the book's. What I suggest is you use Kaplan or TopScore (some very heavy duty review books) along with this book for the PAT section. Then, a few days before the test, flip this book open to go through the materials quickly to keep your brain in science mode. And, of course, constantly practice the PAT section. My prelimary PAT score was 13 when I signed up for Kaplan (which was useless btw), and with this book I got an 18 on the real PAT.

Badke hits another home run... 5 out of 5 stars.

This update to Badke's previous work on library research is excellent. I teach Language and Research at a Bible college and used to use his first book as required reading for my students. I was so disappointed when it went out of print. Now, this updated version is my new requirement. This book is written with the same humor and simplicity as the first, but with updated information that is a must. Dealing with electronic research is now the norm and Badke explains it very, very well. This is a must have resource for anyone taking on research.

A very good solutions book for those tough math questions in the Study Guide! Many different ways of solving the very same problem is laid out. I also like the tables in the back of the book. They re-sorted all the OG and Study Guide questions by type and topic. Very useful if you want to tackle one major math topic at one time in a progressive manner!

Awesome explanations! Sometimes even eye-opening solutions. Good to know there's more than one way to skin a cat. I think we should all try to use the shortest cut to solve any problem to gain valuable time on those ones we are unsure about.

I got the entire 4 book set. Heard great things from my colleagues about this series. They really lived up to my expectation though the book covers could have been laminated to make them sturdier! The solutions are very details. In the back, it also sorts all the official guide questions by type and by number. Studying using both Turbocharge and OG is very effective for me.

I bought this book and did not really help me. Actual questions were much tougher than book provided. The book did not contain any permutation-combination, arithmetic sequence,probability, slopes and XY plane questions. These questions appeared frequently on the test. Also examples in this book are very easy and these questions have nothing to do with actual questions. I recommend, those who aim to get high score do not purchase this book.

I am using the ARCO GRE/GMAT review and I find it very detailed and deep.
Very good purchase for the ones who need just a fresh review of what they studied in college/high school.

This is mainly for people who are out of touch with math concepts for a long time. Really helpful for such people but will add little value for people who are looking for some advanced concepts and other tricks

I purchased this book instead of taking their review class because let's face it, the class is pricey. It was so very worth it. You can review facts all you want, but the thing that makes this book awesome is that it teaches you how to think through the questions and pick the "best" answer. I passed my boards and then lent the book to my friends and co-workers who were taking the boards because it was so helpful for me.

This is a great reviewer. You will learn strategies on how to answer questions on the NCLEX. It will improve your critical thinking skills. It also contains practice items in the book as well as in the CD-ROM. And yes, I passed the NCLEX! :)
