SUPER DISAPPOINTING! 3 out of 5 stars.

I was so excited to dive into this book, just to find numerous typos, and cd's that don't corroborate with the lessons in the book. The pace is very fast for a beginner, however, I will continue with it since I am essentially 'stuck' with it now. When I am finished I will definitely do extensive research, and hopefully choose something more organized next time. I am super disappointed with this book!

I have been teaching English as a Second Language for many years and I have become fluent in Spanish. This dictionary for Americans (North and South) is the best for the money. It has many words that are American Spanish and American English whereas many other more expensive dictionaries use European words and sometimes spellings. It is not a good dictionary for travel but then I don't think most are. I don't use a dictionary when on the road. The paper editions wear out rapidly with moderate use but they are cheap enough. Do not waste time and money on smaller dictionaries such as the Chicago. This one not only has American language, it has many idioms, and a reasonable grammar section. I hope this little gem never goes out of print.

I am a high school ESL teacher for new immigrants to the U.S. Our school buys the Merriam-Webster English-Spanish in bulk so each student has one that is easy to carry around, and because they are cheaper. But after experimenting with various dictionaries, I find that I much prefer to keep The New World dictionary right beside me at my desk, when I'm standing at the overhead projector, when I am circulating around the room to help students. I find The New World easier to read and easier to use. For example, when looking at multiple meaning words such as plot or setting, it is easier to pick out the language arts/literary definition in The New World dictionary. It also offers more in the way of support for people learning English or Spanish -- for example the section that helps Spanish speakers understand English prefix/root/suffix is very useful to ESL students and teachers in a high school setting. This year we are going to buy several for each classroom that has ESL students in it.

Best Spanish Course on the Market 5 out of 5 stars.

This newer version of Behind the Wheel Spanish is by far the best on the market.
I have tried Pimsleur, Rosetta Stone, Learn in Your Car Spanish and Michel Thomas.
While all have their virtues, I find Behind the Wheel Spanish to be outstanding for the following reasons:
1. This is the only Spanish course I have used that actually allows you to form and create your own sentences. This is refreshing since no one else has even considered this.
2. I have never had to guess one time about what was being said on the CDs while I drove. It's all on the CDs.
3. The voices are pleasant and informative and I learn enjoyably, often not even noticing how much I've learned to speak and understand until confronted by a native Spanish speaker. This is where I have been pleasantly surprised.
4. This course is fast, fun and effective. I have gone from zero fluency to conversational in just two weeks. Wow.
My advice is this. Try this out and see how it works for you. Better yet, try Behind the Wheel Spanish with ANY other Spanish language course and I'll guarantee you you'll take the others back and keep this one.

Borges A Man from Peru 2 out of 5 stars.

Borges, a half deaf Mephisto indian from Peru, wrote in the later half of the 20th century when half of his inheritance had been squandered in Bordellos charging full price. His forte into "asylum" literature came about as a result of being incarcerated by accident in a Bolivian prison camp which inspired the film, "Papillon". His days were spent by writing and re-reading a book he carried inside his pocket for 22 years which was titled, "Moth Collecting for Youngsters". Most of these stories deal with tidal waves and rocks but some, deal with the memories of his youth like "Hopping on Empty Books".

A great story, Clive cussler is a master of adventure stories, he has a cool way for mixing history with adventure and I find that I can realy belive that I could be there.

Biological weapons are buried in a lake and the race is on to see who will get them first. More diving by Pitt and the NUMA team as they uncover mystery in the deep.

First off, I am an avid reader. I have read six Cussler Pitt novels. I like this one the least. First, there is an absence of Al, Pitt's sidekick. Second, the Admiral plays a more significant part. Third, it forgets to finish the side story. I thought this book was just Okay.

1954. Vixen 03 is down. The  plane, bound for the Pacific carrying thirty-six  Doomsday bombs -- canisters armed with quick-death  germs of unbelievable potency -- vanishes. Vixen has  in fact crashed into an ice-covered lake in  Colorado. 1988. Dirk Pitt, who heroically raised  the Titanic, discovers the wreckage of  Vixen 03. But two deadly canisters  are missing. They're in the hands of a terrorist  group. Their lethal mission: to sail a battleship  seventy-five miles up the Potomac and blast  Washington, D.C., to kingdom come. Only Dirk can stop  them.
