Very Intuitive... but a little hard to follow 4 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

Seth, who is a being channeled through Jane Roberts is obviously an enlightened being not of this world...not anymore anyway. He passes messages in this book regarding reincarnation, creation, God, parallel dimensions, other realities, and life mysteries with a true sense of humor and understanding that only one who has experienced many existences and experiences could. From his superior vantage point he explains life and all its meaning in ways you've probably never thought of... truly enlightening! Some passages (and even whole chapters) need to be read over and over again in order to be grasped and to have the whole meaning and explanations realized.

Editorial Review:

Seth is the acclaimed non-physical teacher whose collected works are the most dynamic, brilliant and undistorted map of inner reality and human potential available today. His articulation of the furthest reaches of human potential, the eternal validity of the soul, and the concept that we create our own reality according to our beliefs, has been presented in books that have sold over 8 million copies and been translated into over a dozen languages. Seth's empowering voice clearly stands out as one of the major forces which led to the current New Age philosophical movement. This book chronicles Seth's first contact with author and medium Jane Roberts. It is a mixture of great Seth excerpts, selected by topic, and further explained by Jane. Topics covered include: After death and between lives; How to get rid of illness; Reincarnation; Why people are born into different circumstances; God; All that is; Dreams; Exercises to develop the inner senses, and much more.

A Messenger from God 5 out of 5 stars.

I am thankful for Nanci Danison's insightful recall of her personal NDE which resonated deeply within me; and, as I read her account, I had the sense I was hearing truth spoken, finally! I was recently privileged to hear Ms. Danison speak in person and found her personal account of her profoundly life-changing experience surprisingly candid and honest, thus, very credible - a woman who needed to do something with the knowledge she was given during her incredible journey and in so doing, she's become God's Messenger. This is a book I will return to over and over again.

Editorial Review:

Backwards is the true story of one big firm trial lawyer's after death face-to-face communication with God/Source about the mysteries of life and death. Backwards shatters the age-old belief that we are mere humans, that fate determines our destinies, and that a task master God demands our obedience and worship. Nanci L. Danison, JD, brings the credibility of a trial lawyer trained to evaluate evidence to her account of the answers to our most pressing spiritual questions: who is God? Who am I? What is the purpose of life? Why am I here? What happens when we die? And how should I live my life here on Earth? She offers a "life plan" from the afterlife that originates in and resonates with our true spiritual nature, and provides step-by-step guidance on how to access and develop our Source-like traits in order to bring peace and happiness to our own lives and our planet.

Real Truth 5 out of 5 stars.
8 of 8 people found this review helpful.

I find Steiner's work invigorating. Theosophy requires you to THINK, unlike much of the New Age drivel on the bookshelves today. Steiner was obviously a man with a great gift of sight and I feel blessed that he has shared so much with us through his writing.

This is a must read for anyone serious about delving deeper into spiritual truth and wisdom. Not only does Steiner share his vision of the Spiritual world, he tells how we can all gain access to that world IF we are willing to devote ourselves to the work with sincerity and dedication.

Editorial Review:

This work, though now appearing for the first time in English dress, has not only passed into three editions in Germany, but has been translated into Russian, Swedish, Dutch, Czechish, and Italian, while a French translation is being prepared. It were perhaps well to mention that in this work the words "know" and "knowledge," when used in reference to the supersensible worlds, involve actual experience of them gained by man through his higher organs of perception. The names chosen by the author to describe the higher bodies of man, and other theosophic facts, have been, as far as possible, retained here. Readers will find that they revert with primitive strength to the ancient power of names, and are word pictures and also mnemonics of what they represent. They thus constitute distinct forces too valuable to be withheld from the English reading public.

the book is a very fast read. It contains data from many researchers on the subject, especially how other cultures view reincarnation, which is very informative but it begs for more. The stories described are fun to read.

Editorial Review:

What if you could see a loved one who has died, not in a future spiritual realm, but here and now, in this lifetime?

It is possible, says Carol Bowman, author of Children’s Past Lives and a pioneer in reincarnation studies. Based on in-depth research and direct observation of very young children, she shows in this groundbreaking book how common it is for beloved relatives to reincarnate into the same family. Typical families share how their children -- some as young as two and still in diapers -- speak spontaneously of intimate details from the lives of a family member they never knew. These true stories shed new light on age-old questions of family relationships: Do we choose our parents? What relationships survive death? What happens to the soul after a miscarriage or abortion? Bowman offers hope for anyone who has lost a beloved relative and longs to be reunited again.

Fascinating and Spiritually Satisfying 5 out of 5 stars.
23 of 23 people found this review helpful.

I was assigned a research paper for my English class and we were permitted to pick whatever topic we wished. Reincarnation is something that has always fascinated me, and since I am a Christian who believes in reincarnation, I decided to write my paper on reincarnation in early Christianity, the Bible, and its revival in modern society. I needed 15 sources, but this book could stand on its own! Prophet discusses historical justification for reincarnation in Christianity as it relates to Jesus' teachings, the Bible, and the Roman Empire. It discusses the lost years of Jesus, and the possibility of him visiting India, and employing mysticism in his teachings. The practicality of reincarnation as she argues it left me spellbound. I was a believer to begin with, but after reading this, I am even more convinced that reincarnation belongs in Christian theology. Did you know there are approximately 28 MILLION Christians who believe in reincarnation? This is only one of the amazing things you will discover if you read this amazing book! Its food for the mind and it quenches the soul that believes there is more out there than our beloved Christianity is telling us! Trust me, it is amazing!

Editorial Review:

A provocative work that makes the case that Jesus taught reincarnation. The authors trace the history of reincarnation in Christianity--from Jesus and the early Christians through Church councils and the persecution of so-called heretics. 31 illustrations, 4 maps.

This a great starting point for learning hypnosis. As the title says "For Beginners".

If you need more than that, this is not the book for you.

Good place to start. 4 out of 5 stars.

Hypnosis for Beginners was a good place to start off with learning hypnotism. Hewitt explains a little bit about the history, and what is going on in the brain when hypnosis is induced. This book is directed more towards clinical/therapy types of hypnosis, however I added my own words to make it into an entertaining night with my friends. Hewitt's induction methods are good, but it is a lot of page turning to follow his lead. Hewitt has several scripts for specific therapy, and detailed instructions on self-hypnosis, also. Overall this is a good book if you want to learn to how induce hypnosis, but it does take a little practice and creativity so your "victim" is thinking about relaxing, and not how inexperienced you are.

Editorial Review:

Hypnosis is one of the most valuable tools available for the enrichment of lives. It''s a normal, safe, healthy phenomenon that brings you to the altered state of consciousness needed for directing your mind to specific goals. The power and scope of self hypnosis can blow your mind into new, heightened levels of awareness and achievement. When you are finished with this step-by-step guide, you will be able to hypnotize yourself and others safely and easily.

Past Life Regression with the Angels 5 out of 5 stars.
11 of 11 people found this review helpful.

Part 1 (19:09 minutes) (Explanation)
Doreen provides introductory comments, explaining her initial experiences with Past Life Regression (PLR) and how she was initially a skeptic of reincarnation, until she had her own PLR experience. This PLR experience was conducted by a hypnotherapist friend who helped her to "see" past experiences. In turn, she was able to understand fears and concerns in her current life, and she overcame fears stemming from past lives and learned her current life's mission.

Doreen notes that reincarnation was and is embraced by several religions and WAS embraced by Christian churches until 533 AD. She also mentions studies on thousands of young children which indicate remembrances of past lives. Whether you believe in reincarnation or not, many people who have experienced PLR have healed from the experience, some from just one session. As Doreen said, does it really matter if they believe, as long as they healed from the experience? (But there sure seems to be an awful lot of "coincidences" out there if there were no past lives. I believe. Didn't use to believe, but have seen too much to NOT believe.)

Doreen suggests you RELEASE UNFORGIVENESS. (EVERYTHING I am reading emphasizes the need to forgive and release. There are several reasons, but the biggest is that you cannot sustain a higher vibration unless you get rid of negative feelings. That higher vibration makes it easier to do spiritual/metaphysical "things".) Doreen also suggests that when you do this CD, you ask for help with forgiveness from the angels and that you do NOT focus on past lives or their identity. (Realistically, that's why these past lives are dormant in your subconscious. You need to concentrate on THIS life and its challenges.) She suggests you use this CD to identify (understand) your past life happenings and use them as a healing tool, to release (emotional & energy) blocks from prior lives.

In this CD, you use the meditation to access the Akashic Records to access prior life information. (Many of you probably know what the Akashic Records are, but in case you don't, they are the storage facility for everyone's' entire past life information--like a mega library in the sky, so to speak. Some people access this information through meditation. Edgar Cayce was a famous psychic who often accessed the Akashic Records to get information for people, so they could understand why (e.g. they had a phobia about going in the water--or whatever their problems were. The problems often manifested into illness or disease. Once they understood, they could release these feelings that were making them ill.) Prior to meditation, you set (think) your intention (what you want to get out of the session) and mentally ask questions that you seek answers to. Then you go into a guided meditation. Doreen says you will only consciously remember what you are prepared to handle, so you may have to do this meditation several times, to prepare yourself to be able to handle you PLR information.

Part 2 (45:06 minutes) (Meditation)
You think about what issues you want to heal or release and mentally ask the angels (3 times) for help remembering your other lifetimes. She then takes you into a meditative state through about 13 minutes of focused relaxation techniques. You begin to open your mind to look into the Akashic Records. Your mind becomes a time tunnel of colors and you travel back in time, through each color, with your angel holding your hand. The colors parody the chakras red, to orange, yellow, green, light blue, cobalt/royal blue, to deep purple. I assume Doreen takes you through the chakras to better connect you to Source (God), through the Kundalini (kind of -- up the spine) energy.

My experiences:
Without telling you all my secrets, I will tell you that I have previously received other guidance about my one past life, which was different that many other people's alleged experiences. I seem to have only had one past life. What I got in meditation with this CD seemed to verify and enhance my understanding of that prior guidance. This enhancement was unexpected information and it fills in a gap. I also "received" an explanation of a concern I still have. You also need to know that as a Reiki Master (Eastern Energy and Spiritual Discipline), I have previously worked through almost all of my "issues," or else I would probably have more stuff surface during the meditation.

I believe this CD can be very helpful to those who want to progress forward. You just have to be willing to: 1) take the time, 2) identify the issues "haunting" you, 3) FACE THOSE ISSUES, and then 4) work to correct them. Need ALL 4 of those steps or don't bother.

If you don't believe in reincarnation, is this CD still worth your time???

Emotional and physical healing? - PRICELESS!!!

Editorial Review:

Whether or not you believe in past lives, there are very real therapeutic benefits from undergoing a past-life regression session. Doreen discusses how her clients have healed from phobias, addictions, and mood disorders by recalling their past lives.

Editorial Review:

In the same way that "The Indigo Children" was a phenomenon that was much talked-about, before the book came out and explained it, "Earth Angels" is a topic of much discussion among spiritually minded people world-wide. Four years ago, Doreen Virtue wrote an article on the topic, and then a chapter in her book, "Healing with the Angels," and then more information in "Healing with the Fairies."  Since that time, Doreen has been flooded with letters from people who resonate with the idea, requesting more information.

"Earth Angels" will be the first book devoted to the topic. Doreen will describe the five different types of lightworkers: Incarnated Angels (those who had previous lives as angels, but who are now here as humans); Incarnated Elementals (those whose previous lives were in the elemental kingdom, as fairies, elves, etc.); Starpeople (those who have lived the majority of their past lives on other planets); Walk-In's (those who came from a high spiritual realm and walked-in to another person's life, as that soul gladly exited their body); and Reincarnated Sorcerers, Sorceresses, and Wizards (those whose most recent past life was during Arthurian or Atlantian times, when they practiced high magic).

The book will include dozens of case studies; a fascinating analysis of an extensive survey that Doreen has conducted among people who identify with the five types of Earth Angels; and guidance to help readers to feel happier about their lives, their own idiosyncrasies, and their missions.

Thorough, but misses some important facts 4 out of 5 stars.
15 of 16 people found this review helpful.

The subject matter on this book is, by nature, rather on the dark side. I had to take it in small doses because it can be depressing to focus heavily on this sort of thing. On the other hand, it was well researched, thorough, and highly-informative.
Where I think Ms. Turner lost some direction is in her conclusion that Christianity teaches the doctrine of a fiery, burning hell. Yes, I know - many churches in Christendom do teach this as a doctrine - and most Bible translations translate the original language words 'hades', 'Gehenna', and 'sheol' as "Hell" or "Hellfire". but with careful (and honest) research, it becomes apparent that Bible translators (Not the bible writers)have been heavily influenced by paganism and writers such as Dante (1265 to 1321 AD).
Consider, for example one of the Greek words translated as "Hellfire": 'Gehenna' This is the Greek spelling of the Hebrew, "ge-Hinnom", or the "Valley of Hinnom". This valley, located southwest of Jerusalem, takes its name from a man, whose name was Hinnom and his sons who apparently came to own this property. It was in this valley that wicked kings, Ahaz and Manasseh sacrificed their children in the fire as an offering to Baal (2 Chronicles 28:3; 33:6). Of this practice, God said, "To burn their sons and their daughters with fire, which I did not command, nor did it come up on My heart." (Jeremiah 7:31). In this valley, these kings also practiced witchcraft, sorcery, divination, and also built up "high places" in worship of false Gods. Later, Josiah had parts of this valley polluted to render it unfit for any such practices in the future. In Jesus' day, the Valley of Hinnom was being used as a garbage dump.
There is a curious anomaly however, that seems to affect many, if not most translations of the Bible. Using the King James Version as an example, in the Hebrew Old Testament, the words ge-Hinnom occur thirteen times, and each time, it is translated as the `valley of Hinnom'. Yet, when the Hebrew words ge-Hinnom are transliterated into Greek, Gehenna, the KJV translators consistently render the word as `Hell'. Why is this word recognized as a geographical region in the Old Testament, but, in the New Testament, as a place of fiery burning torment? Is there a valid basis for the "hell fire" rendering? To answer those questions, we need to look carefully at the Bible passages in which it occurs, the context of the time, and also at the audience to whom those words were addressed.
Of the twelve New Testament passages where Gehenna is used, eleven are in the synoptic gospels - Matthew, Mark, and Luke. All of these quote Jesus' words. The other Gehenna passage is in James 3:6. Of these verses, five mention fire as an element of Gehenna. The sense of judgment, condemnation, or destruction is present in most of these verses. Probably, for this reason, translators take the passages as a metaphor or description of `hellfire', but is it possible that there could be another explanation that better harmonizes with God's quality of love? Yes.
Keep in mind that this is a Hebrew word, and, in each case, Jesus was speaking to Jews. These Jews were certainly familiar with Jerusalem and its surroundings, including the nearby Valley of Hinnom, which, as previously stated, was used as a garbage dump. Here, fires were constantly kept burning as a means of consuming the refuse and the smoke from those fires would have been an constant feature of its
presence, and visible from considerable
distance. Sulfur, or brimstone was regularly thrown into the fires to accelerate the burning. That which was not destroyed by the fire was eaten by the worms or maggots, thus Jesus' words in Mark 9:47, "where their worm is not dying and the fire is not being quenched." must be taken as a literal description of conditions in the Valley of Hinnom. But how is that connected with the idea of punishment?
The fact is that, not only trash was consumed in the fires of Gehenna, but also the carcasses of animals and the bodies of executed criminals were thrown into the fires to be burned up and forever destroyed. Never were live people thrown into Gehenna to be tortured. In Jewish belief, future life depended upon the restoration of the whole person through a resurrection. Normally, dead bodies were always buried - never cremated, to allow for this resurrection to take place. To completely destroy a person's body in Gehenna meant that he was considered unworthy of being resurrected at any time in the future. To be thrown into Gehenna would, to Jesus' Jewish listeners, signify a permanent death without any hope of future life, forever cut off from God. There could be no worse punishment than this.
I could address the word hades also, but space does not permit here.
The point is: Christendom's doctrine of Hellfire is based on pagan influences and tradition - but it is not a Biblical teaching.
Maybe Ms. Turner should consider adding a statement in her book to the effect that Christendom adopted their hellfire beliefs from ancient non-biblical sources. On the other hand, anyone reading this book should logically come to that conclusion on their own.
