An introduction to the basic concepts of The Urantia Book, including quotations and illustrations. The purpose is to aquaint the reader not only with basic concepts of The Utrantia Book, but with a sampling of its breadth, depth, and viewpoints. Starting with an overview of The Urantia Book, it introduces the nature of the Creator and creation, planetary history and dispensations, the Lucifer rebellion, Adam and Eve's default, spiritual ministries to humans, and life after death. The last chapter is devoted to who Jesus was, what He did on earth, and excerpts from His life and teachings. This introduction also includes topics such as religion, women/men/equality/marriage, government on a neighboring planet, war, and more. As stated in the introduction to the book, the author writes "God is love, the Creator, sustainer, and upholder of all creation. The Urantia Book is a great revelation, a presentation of universal facts and truths to us, about the Creator and about creation. It greatly expands our views and understandings of the Creator and the cosmos, and with this bigger picture, science, religion, and philosophy become integrated. This is a must read. It is a benchmark work against which all Histories and Mysteries dealing with the origin of the Urantia Papers must be weighed. The wealth of detail from Moyer's extensive research on the early days of William Sadler, human agent for the Revelation, and his meeting of the "Sleeping Subject," has no comparison.

Moyer provides useful introductory material for those who may be meeting the Urantia Book for the first time. He then goes on to survey the sequence of events starting with the appearance of the "Sleeping Subject" in LaGrange, Illinois in 1908, to the event of the actual revelation in 1934 and 1935. He shows the nature of the "Contact Commission," entrusted with the care of the Revelation, and how the "Forum" developed, with its role in the generation of the Papers. He provides an unvarnished account of the interplay of personalities, with all of their human frailties. Those human shortcomings eventually led to Sadler interposing in the text, and reducing the Revelation to something less than the perfection we would expect from divine beings.

Moyer, a believer that the Urantia Papers are a Divine Revelation, exercises an intellectual honesty that is striking. He faces up to cruel realities where others cower. Such a masterful work will withstand the keenest scrutiny.

You will never grasp the truth behind the origins of the Urantia Papers without reading this book.

The Concordex brings the Urantia Book alive! 5 out of 5 stars.

Yesterday my copy of the Concordex arrived and this morning I read the 50 page introduction in it. This book is incredible!

First of all Clyde was on the original forum and is also, IMO, an outstanding writer. One quick quote can give you an idea of this: "If you are earnestly seeking truth, the Urantia Book would provide you the thrills of your life. If you are a metaphysical "bar hopper", simply seeking to sip psychic samples proffered anywhere, expect little. For the Urantia Book is to drink deeply, to live with and by. It is not a diversionary shot-in-the-arm, or a spiritual incidental."

I had heard of the Concordex years ago, but had not looked into it seriously because I felt that the Urantia Book search engines could do a better job. This could not be farther from the truth. I really think that it will provide me with several years of new, insightful, UB reading. The 50 page intro also provides some excellent suggestions and ideas. One is a list of 803 interesting topics with corresponding page numbers. It suggests that if you read the selection and really like it, you put vertical bars in the margin of the UB and next to it you write in the previous related article page number and the following related page number. During subsequent trips through the UB, you will be attracted by the bars and then reread it. This is an excellent idea. I previously had used a yellow highlighter, but will now use a red ball point for the Concordex suggestions. It got me to wonder what Clyde's UB must have looked like and what happened to it.

I could go on and on about the interesting topics, but I'll just give one more. One topic is "numbers", you know, things like how many inhabitable worlds in a system. Two that caught my eye are 1) there are 3 inhabitable planets in our solar system of 12 planets, and 2) there are 7 super universes in the Grand Universe but about 70,000 in the Master Universe. Wow!

Jesus: A New Revelation is the most amazing book I have ever read, and I consider myself an avid reader. I used to think all religious people needed some crutch to get through life, couldn't face reality and were just hooked into conventional traditions without much contimplation of alternatives. I had no faith before I read this book. Not that I was looking very hard, but I never found anything else in the vast sea of new age offerings, nor in the traditional scriptures to turn me away from the practical, scientific, intellectual, humanistic atheism I had evolved in my life. That is, until I read this book which tells the fascinating day to day story of Jesus' life and teaching.

This is a living story, wonderfully captivating, thrilling, and real. Jesus was born, raised, and died a Jew, but he gives hope, joy and inspiration to peoples of all faiths. Christians may have traditionalized him past the point of recognition...I dare say, this book may not even appeal to fundamentalist Christians who have no room in their hearts for growth. This is a book for people who are evolving (or discovering) their multi-facited faith...for whom faith is living.

Don't believe me, read it for yourself and decide for yourself. This is not a 5 star book, it is a 10 star book!
