More than just a calendar 5 out of 5 stars.
16 of 17 people found this review helpful.

This 2006 crop circle calendar put together by Freddy Silva is much more than a few photos of crop circles. They appear to have been carefully selected by Silva to represent important characteristics of sacred geometry, and their links to the esoteric mystery schools, which is explained in text, on each page.

There are photo's depicting symbols from Buddhism, Egyptology, Kabballah, Christianity, & Islam. In addition, he has included many of the important religious dates for each month, easy to see at a glance. For me, a Westerner who's knowledge of Eastern religion is still growing, this is a great tool for connecting into the activities of other forms of worship. You could almost say its a universal calendar!

The other standard features are included; moon phase dates, holidays, plus a mini 2007 calendar.

Great value, you can't lose.

Editorial Review:

They appear seemingly out of nowhere; one moment a pristine field, the next moment a complex and mysterious design imprinted in the nearly ripened wheat. The stalks are bent, laid in swirls and patterns of mathematical precision and yet remain virtually undamaged. Some designs demonstrate principles of geometry while others portray ancient religious symbols. Skeptics tell us they're hoaxes, but no one can fully explain how these patterns are created with such speed and accuracy. Some even believe there are alien forces at work. The Crop Circles 2009 wall calendar features thirteen incredible crop circle photographs paired with fascinating information about this phenomenon by expert Freddy Silva, a leading researcher of crop circle occurrences and author of Secrets in the Fields: The Science and Mysticism of Crop Circles, published by Hampton Roads in 2002.

Editorial Review:

Crop Circles. What Are They? Who Makes Them? Why Are They Here?

They appear at night, complex designs mysteriously imprinted on fields of almost ripened grain. Nobody knows how they got there, or why. They leave the grain stalks in swirls, virtually undamaged. They exhibit mathematical precision. They demonstrate principles of geometry. They portray ancient religious symbols.

Since the 1980s, some 10,000 crop circles have appeared, seemingly by magic, in England and 25 other countries. Each year the count grows, and the designs get more intricate, even fantastic. Governments tell us they're hoaxes, but the evidence shows that most are not.

What is going on?

Author Freddy Silva lives in Wessex, the four-county area of southern England that has been host to 90 percent of the world's crop circles. In Secrets in the Fields, he takes us on an exhilarating firsthand field trip into the heart of the mystery. Silva takes us to the scene of the enigma, before, after, and during the appearance of a fresh circle. He introduces us to farmers, researchers, scientists, mystics, hoaxers and debunkers. He tells:

  • how to distinguish a hoaxed circle from a genuine one
  • what the magnetic field disturbances might mean
  • what time distortions observed at crop circles might mean
  • how sound, light and microwave energy may be involved
  • how a theory of music may account for their creation
  • what the circle images mean

Deeply informative and copiously illustrated, this is the most comprehensive look at crop circles to date.

The long-awaited sequel to the bestselling The Pleiadian Agenda

In 1995, a Pleiadian goddess named Satya told her amazing tale of the nine dimensions of human consciousness in The Pleiadian Agenda. In this exciting sequel, Barbara Hand Clow takes these teachings to a practical level so that we can all discover multidimensionality in our daily lives.

Based on more than ten years of experience with students, and years of research into the new sciences that validate the breakthrough concepts in The Pleiadian Agenda, Clow presents each dimension in detail. Alchemy of Nine Dimensions:

  • reveals how the Pleiadians described the nine dimensions
  • sharpens our understanding with scientific and historical explanations
  • offers a startling interpretation of crop circles
  • helps you contact and work with beings in many dimensions, and
  • provides meditations on how to ground these nine dimensions of awareness energetically into our bodies
  • Finally, Clow reveals the true significance of the date December 21, 2012—the end of the Mayan calendar—and tells you what you need to know to begin physical and spiritual preparation.

Beautiful! 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

On the basis of the color plates alone, this book is worth the price of purchase--a great and eye-catching addition to your coffee table. But it's also an informative chronology of the phenomenon. Other books may delve deeper into the scientific and geometric aspects, but none that I've seen compare with the visual impact of this one. If you're looking to view the crop circles from the comfort of your living room, this is the book for you.

Even if the mystery of crop circles is never answered conclusively, they will leave an enduring impact on those who observe them. 5 out of 5 stars.

This is an excellent look at the Signs,Wonders and Mysteries of Crop Circles. It does not go to any depth in trying to determine how they were made or by whom.To the authors ,the mysteries associated with how they came to be is very much part of their fascination. Whether or not it is ever conclusively proven who made them is beside the point.
The book has over 200 excellent color photographs of Crop Circles as well as many other diagrams and illustrations.
The authors delve into the meanings represented by the circles as they relate to Mathematics and particularly Geometry. To them ,they see great mystical meanings and a fascinating art form.

    The Crop Circles include;

    Sacred geometry and Number

    Sacred Space

    Labyrinths,Mazes and Puzzles

    Knots,Ropes and Ribbons

    Life Forms

    Mysticism,Mythology and Mandalas

    The Fractals

    and,

    Signs and Wonders

While there are people like Doug Bower and David Chorley who admit to making over 255 Crop Circles;there are many that nobody has been able to determine who ,or how they were made. Many have other unexplainable physical characteristics as well.
Back on November 28,2003 ;I wrote a review on "Sacred Geometry" by Miranda Lundy and much of the geometry we see in these Crop Circles is explained there as well.
The book gives detailed references for anyone who wants to pursue Crop Circles further, and much as with UFO's, the mystery continues ,and there is also an ample supply of Web sites where you can turn to to see all that is going on about this fascinating phenomna.

You may want to check the reviews for "Round in Circles" by Jim Schnabel, who claims in his book to have resolved the mysteries of who is making these Crop Circles.

Really bad science jumps the shark 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I actually am willing to let quite a bit by in terms of reality when reading a book. But this was beyond willing suspension of disbelief. First the entire ocean flash freezes while leaving a man in the "protection" of a boat intact? The amount of energy required for that to occur is phenomenal.

Taking some breaths and reading further I was treated to characters so mono-dimensional that they should be able to hide from the rampaging dinosaurs by turning sideways.

The villains at the end have a weak spot that is so ridiculous given the current human level of technology that it made me wonder if the protagonist's were welding potatoes guns.

    Editorial Review:

A phenomenon known as crustal displacement shifts the Earth's crust, repositioning continents and causing countless deaths. In the wake of the global catastrophe, the world struggles to take care of its displaced billions. But Antarctica, freshly thawed and blooming, has emerged as a new hope. Rather than wage a world war no nation can endure, the leading nations devise a competition, a race to the center of Antarctica, with the three victors dividing the continent. It is within this race that Mirabelle Whitney, one of the few surviving experts on the continent, grouped with an American special forces unit, finds herself. But the dangers awaiting the team are far worse than feared; beyond the sour history of a torn family, beyond the nefarious intentions of their human enemies, beyond the ancient creatures reborn through anhydrobiosis-there are the Nephilim. The world races to claim a new continent, only to find it already taken.

Living Mandalas . . . Enigmas of the Earth 5 out of 5 stars.

This is a beautiful book . . . the crop circle photographs are meditations in and of themselves . . . their beauty transcends all logical concerns for their origins. Perusing these pictures diminishes the media controversy to abject pettiness: The heart is filled. The mind is stilled. I merely give thanks.

Beautifully done 5 out of 5 stars.

I'm a "croppie" of sorts. I collect info about crop circles and I paint them. This book gives more detailed info about the actual energies present in specific crop circles, than any other book. The living energies of 67 crop circles are explained in detail. Researchers' personal experiences are also explained. The photos are good too. This is the ultimate crop circle book that I know of.

    Editorial Review:

Through both examination of the crop circles and channeled investigation, Crop Circles Revealed explores a new understanding, to help the people of the world and our mother planet survive the millennium.

Scientific formulas of light and sound and the wisdom found in the mythologies of the ages are brought together in this up-to-the-minute 2001 edition. This book lifts the crop circles away from the controversy of who makes them into the wonder of what they represent to us at this critical time in our history.

A definitive history of the crop circles 5 out of 5 stars.
30 of 31 people found this review helpful.

When Andy Thomas' Vital Signs first came out in its UK edition in 1998, it was quickly seen as one of the best historical surveys of the post-1978 crop circle phenomenon. As a longtime editor of the journal of the Southern Circular Research group (now known as Swirled News at www.swirlednews.com), as well as a top-notch researcher himself, Thomas had been looking long and hard at the crop formations, from every angle, both inside and outside the glyphs. With great persistence, a feisty spirit, and often hilarious drama at such venues as the annual Glastonbury Symposium and the International UFO Congress, Thomas remains one of the fiercest defenders of the true crop circles, and a defender as well of the hard research that's been done on the phenomenon over the years. I'm happy to see that Vital Signs has come out in an updated version in the US, incorporating the glyphs from the intervening years, including the 2001 season. Readers unfamiliar with the first edition will want to buy this version, one of the best overviews of the phenomenon.

Vital Signs begins with a painstaking presentation of the ground-level data, including the unusual layering and swirls of the downed crop, while providing important details of the scientific work that's been done analyzing the effects on the stalks and soil, establishing the reality of the phenomenon beyond all the hoaxing. It then goes elaborately into what's seen from up above: the pictorial shapes and beautiful geometries, uncovering the mathematics encoded in the shapes. Along the way, we also learn of the strange balls of light (BOLs) seen hovering over the fields and of the effects of crop circle energies on electronic equipment and the biological systems of humans and animals. We're treated too to eyewitness accounts of crop circles forming, including the important recent case in Amsterdam when Nancy Talbott-a key scientific researcher and member of the BLT Research Team-along with Robbert van der Broeke, saw three powerful tubes of light descend into a bean field outside the van der Broeke home, only to discover a few minutes later that a structured crop circle had appeared in the field. It's stories like these that lead one to believe that crop circles are a key part of the worldwide UFO phenomenon.

One of the great strengths of Vital Signs is the year-by-year chronology it provides, as well as the beautiful photographic gallery that accompanies the text, including a central color section. It's a chronicle that not only describes the fascinating evolution of the crop formations over the years, but also the rabid atmosphere of controversy that has grown up around them: are they manmade, anomalous, or a mixture of both? How can you tell the real from the hoaxed and what's the percentage of each? Are the simple ones the true phenomenon, or are some of the more complex formations real as well? As Thomas juggles the assertions and denials on both sides of the fence-as well as the natural, supernatural, and ufological theories as to how they're made-what finally emerges is that, if any of them are not manmade (and much evidence supports the idea that many, perhaps most of them are not), then we have a genuine mystery that's growing in scope around the world. However, it's only ongoing, careful research that has the power to cut through the fog of disinformation. Vital Signs is a great introduction for those confronting the crop circles for the very first time, as well as a primary resource for long-time researchers still dazzled by the mysterious signs in the fields.

-Michael Miley is a contributing editor to UFO Magazine (US).

    Editorial Review:

Crop circles, those beautiful and complex patterns that are visible from the air in fields around the world, have long fascinated the public, media, and scientific community. Vital Signs is a comprehensive guide for newcomers to these puzzling patterns and an essential history for those who are already intrigued. Illustrated with hundreds of full-color and black-and-white photos, this chronological and photographic history is an accessible discussion of the various crop circle theories, physical and statistical evidence, and the surprising effects these formations have had on observers and researchers.

Dreadful Audio Book/Excellent Bonus Features 1 out of 5 stars.
7 of 9 people found this review helpful.

Hein narrates his first book, Opening Minds, in an amateurish, monotonous and anesthetizing drone that would cure the most resistant case of insomnia. Hein's unimaginative original sound track does not hide the fact that he has obvious difficulties in pronouncing his own text nor does it off-set the awkward pauses that punctuate the entire work.

The bonus features are the saving grace of this entire recording. The Bashar and Mother Earth channeling sessions will delight fans of both entities. Hein's acoustic selections run the gamut from well produced elevator music to the beautifully sublime voice of vocalist Elisa Brown. His radio and television interviews are engaging, informative and fun. Its a shame that Hein did not choose to narrate his audio book with the same authenticity that resonates in these vibrant interviews.

    Editorial Review:

New discoveries in physics combined with a greater awareness of extra-ordinary phenomena all around us challenge our traditional beliefs. Research into resonant viewing crop circles and extraterrestrials shows our world to be vibrant, multidimmensional, and full of mystery.

    Editorial Review:

Haunted Spaces, Sacred Places is a fascinating and thoroughly researched exploration of the archaeology, legends, and modern mysteries of 32 ancient places throughout the world--from the mysterious megaliths of Britain and Ireland, the haunted tombs of the Etruscans, and the Pagan origins of Germany's Aachen Cathedral to the ancient Native American city of Cahokia, the enigmatic Cambodian Temple of Angkor Wat, and the sacred Aboriginal rock formation of Uluru.

Why are strange phenomena so often connected with these ancient sites? Are certain sacred places somehow able to generate or attract paranormal phenomena? Or can such events be explained in terms of modern myth and contemporary folklore? What can the legends and folklore of ancient places throughout the world reveal to us about the beliefs and ideas of our ancient ancestors? These are just some of the questions answered in Brian Haughton's enthralling new book.

In Haunted Spaces, Sacred Places you will discover:

    * The relationship between ancient Native American sites and unexplained phenomena in Colorado's San Luis Valley.

    * The truth behind the legends of the mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor in China, home of the Terracotta Warriors.

    * The legendary history of ancient sites such as Stonehenge, Chartres Cathedral, Delphi, Cuzco, and the Ohio Serpent Mound.

    * The prevalence of modern encounters with ghosts, UFOs, spooklights, Bigfoot, and phantom dogs at ancient sacred places.

With more than 25 photographs and illustrations, this is the ideal reference work for those interested in the connections between ancient places, folklore, and unexplained phenomena.
