Please read all the reviews written before me....they are alsolutely accurate. In fact, the only comment I would add is "MIND NUMBINGLY BORING!!!"

This must be the worst-read I've had---and why do we keep buying!!! 1 out of 5 stars.

If there was a way to give it negative stars I would have. Just like what the previous reader said, why do we keep buying Diana Palmer's books? It is because her stories used to be so heartwrenching and funny, the heroines have spunk and the heroes portrayed are not some macho, self-centered person. If anyone has noticed, Ms. Palmer's last two books portrayed the women as barely 20. What has happened? To make the "virgin" persona more realistic? I think her stories lately have been more unrealistic. A woman can still be virtuous without having to be poor or plain---that was the reason I love the character from her previous book---Tippy Moore (Cash Grier).
I just hope that Ms. Palmer is not giving in to her editor's pressure to produce stories for her fans, because it just makes those of us who love her story-telling disappointed, but most of all CHEATED.

Editorial Review:

Boone Sinclair is a hallmark Diana Palmer hero: tall, strong and handsome. A businessman and a rancher, Boone had it all—except for Keely Welsh. The first time he spotted her on his property, he was determined not to let her get away from him. The lovely beauty would be his.…

Every Long, Tall Texan gets his woman, and this one would not be denied.

Mr. Fix It Pleases the Senses 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

If reading a book is like eating a meal, then reading Mr. Fix It is like eating a gourmet meal. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Hubbard, and I can tell you honestly, I was blown away at the skill of her writing. I have read few other books that gave me the impression that the author was a wordsmith. One example is Judith Ivory, who is not prolific, but beautifully writes historical romances. Language can be sparing and economical, or it can be flowery and showy. Mr. Fix It manages to be a happy composite of both. There is no overblown, florid prose in this book. But sentences tease the mind like the sweet smell of pink roses, or the explosion of flavor on the tongue when tasting a really good cheesecake.
I am a visual person, and each scene played vividly in my mind. Although Mr. Fix It is not written to intently describe every feature of the character's looks, you are given the details to form your own image of the characters in your mind. You know that Khela is pretty and has dimples that come out when she smiles. She is brown-skinned with peach undertones, and her body is toned from boxing practice. And we know that Carter is so beautiful that he could float by through life merely on his looks. Food is described with sensuous detail that tells me that Ms. Hubbard is definitely a foodie. And she writes of the best things in life with a knowledge that makes me think that either she has exquisite taste or is an expert researcher. I certainly learned a lot about many subjects as varied as the romance writing industry, architecture, gourmet food, and high fashion. Even though I felt very unsophisticated compared to Khela, it was refreshing and wonderfully destructive against stereotypes to have a Black female character in a book with such culture. And thankfully, Khela still manages to be a genuine, nice, and good person that you would love and admire, at the same time. Khela is a romance author, who would spend hours signing books or talking to fans. She also works very hard to write high quality romance books that are excellently researched, dispelling the stereotypes that romance novels are just trash. She understands how much they mean to people (and as someone who can firmly state that reading romance has gotten me through some awful times, this hits home personally with me). I can safely assure you that will definitely like Khela, if not love her as the heroine of this book. Carter is also likeable, but I would say that he turns out to be the more troubled counterpart in this romance. This is a twist because you go into the book expecting Khela to be more weighted down with issues and afraid to love.
I must tell you honestly as a writer, I felt mixed emotions as I read this book. I felt awe at Ms. Hubbard's writing skill and beauty. Also I felt despair at the thought that I could never write a book this delicious and written with such consummate skill. As an aspiring writer, I know that I am also encouraged to develop my craft and to be the best writer that I can to make minutes pass like seconds and hours like minutes like this book did when I read it.
As far as the interracial romance, by nature that is what this book entails. However, race is so not the issue in this book. I found it decidedly refreshing. Khela is a character whose insecurities in romance stem from being used in the past, not for fear of loving a White man. For Carter, being with Khela is the culmination of years of desire. It was love at first sight for him, even if he couldn't use the words in his mind. She is the woman he wants, for all that she is. If she happens to be Black, that is just part of who she is. His angst stems from the fear that he is not enough for her, or good enough for her. There is the conflict of loving someone who is famous, and all the drama that goes along with this. Also the fear of being wanted and used because of your success and material wealth. The first fear is Carter's, and the second is Khela's. They both have to overcome these fears to find happiness together. And race, simply does not matter. If you are the interracial romance fan who is mortally sick of the "I can't date a White man" song and dance that is far too common in this genre, I encourage you to read this book. It is like a breeze of fresh air tinged with newly blossomed flowers. I guarantee that this book will cleanse a jaded palate.
I thank you, Ms. Hubbard, for writing such a splendid book.

Disgusted 1 out of 5 stars.
3 of 7 people found this review helpful.

I think it is official. Diana you should turn in your pen. I am sorry but this was the worst yet. How does anyone condone the fact that this poor girl who had lived through enough was a victim of date rape? Just because you know your attacker does not mean it is any less awful. Yet, it was never acknowledged as this by the author or those around them. He intended for them to have sex and she did not plan or want to have intimate relations. He took advantage of her and showed no true remorse. As usual for Diana's characters, she took the blame which is typical for most victims. Ms. Palmer, your views are from a day gone by. Men who treat women so horribly are no longer found acceptable in today's society. I commend you for holding high moral standards for your women but why is it ok for your men to act so atrociously? Readers, please be warned when you read this book, it is a substandard example of a once wonderful writer.

Editorial Review:

Rancher Jared Cameron was a mystery to everyone in Jacobsville, Texas…and he liked it that way. Only sweet-natured bookseller Sara dared to intrude on his privacy—informing the loner that a book on ogres might be more appropriate for a man of his qualities. Charmed by her audaciousness, Jared seduced the town's plain Jane. But their burgeoning relationship soon thrust Sara into Jared's hidden world of intrigue.

Now the iron cowboy had to steel himself for the fight of his life…and his heart.

Melanie Sparks is a young woman who is determined to succeed at making her childhood dream a reality by becoming a RN even though her Father thinks its a waste of time. She works hard to make money to pay her tuition by doing student papers. One of her friends at school tells her to check the help wanted board at school and check out the job listed for a LPN job at a clinic that opens up in her neighborhood. She would be making more money working part time than she does with her former job plus she will be working with patients which she loves. She applies and interviews with Dr. Jack Ferguson. She feels instant attraction for him but knows that she is not in his league. They work well together and the attaction is mutual. The problem is his father thinks Jack should have a mate with the same status as himself and does everything he can to keep them apart. This is a great story and Gwynne has added characters from her former books with the Harrington brothers and their families and ET and Michaela Landry from the book "For All We Know' by Sandra Kitt in this series called Novels of Love & Hope. This is a great and inspirational story.

Editorial Review:

Tall, muscular, compassionate and strong-willed, Dr. Jack Ferguson is everything Melanie Sparks wants in a man, and the last thing she needs in a boss. Growing up poor, Melanie dreamed of becoming a nurse, and her job at Jack's clinic can make that a reality—but only if she keeps her mind away from a tempting seduction that could never be more than a wonderful fling.

Son of a prominent Baltimore doctor, Jack is expected to choose a wealthy wife. Instead he's falling for someone his powerful father will never accept. Working with Melanie to help those most in need, Jack realizes that what he truly wants is the woman who's right in front of him—but can he convince Melanie of that?

Unknown Passion 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Cole Red Hot Pursuit is a passionate and erotic full novel with a family feel as well as two very passionate characters.

Cole Westermoreland was a man who was nothing but a confirmed bachelor his passion was pleasing women and nothing more. When he finds himself face to face with Patricia Foreman after she saves his life after a snowstorm causes him to have an accident he knows he wants Patricia in the most intimate way ever. Patricia Foreman has a thing against lawman due to her late husband but she had never met a man who shows more persistence then Cole. She finds herself intrigued with the way he causes his body to respond to hers but she also finds herself falling in love when she does not want to.

Brenda Jackson writes strong passionate pieces however, the story line feels like a repeat from her other novels as well as it was rushed. In this novel, Cole pushes and pushes until he finally gets Patricia to do what he wants while I enjoy a strong determined man it is as if he comes off as controlling which is not a passionate or romantic feature. Many readers are use to reading romance novels and thinking of that perfect man while looks, wealth, and sexuality that are what Cole brings to the table it just seems his character simply lacked a part of that romance formula.

Editorial Review:

Cole Westmoreland always gets what he wants! What the former Texas Ranger wanted was sultry Patrina Forman. But Patrina was set against falling for a man with a no-strings attitude, and there was no way she'd fall into bed with a lawman!

Then a Montana blizzard changed everything. Trapped together for three sinfully delicious nights, Cole soon had Patrina singing a different tune thanks to his brand of red-hot seduction. But what would happen once the thaw arrived?

You Can Go Back 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Former Texas Ranger Clint Westmoreland has been enjoying life on his Texas horse ranch for the past five years. Alyssa Barkley, his ex-partner, also a former Texas Ranger, who was also Clint's pretend wife on an undercover assignment, loves her new life. Called in to Ranger headquarters, they are informed, due to a technicality gone unnoticed for the past five years, they are still legally married. Clint and Alyssa learn ending the bogus marriage is not going to take longer than the marriage actually existed. An annulment seems the proper way to go, until they are told they must actually live together as husband and wife for thirty days before an annulment will be granted. Can we say problems, problems, problems?

The storyline and plot of TAMING CLINT WESTMORELAND were awesome; however this Westmoreland story lacked the "umph" of previous Westmoreland stories. 192 pages were just crunched together. As a diehard Brenda Jackson fan, I will continue to read her books, but Clint and Alyssa did not bring the intensity of former Brenda Jackson characters. At times while reading, I felt Jackson wanted to go in another direction, but due to publishing guidelines she pulled up and ended the scenes.

In name only?
The moment ex-Texas Ranger Clint Westmoreland learned he was still married, he set the limits for his wife's stay at his luxurious horse ranch. But when she arrived, Clint's boundaries began to blur. He and Alyssa Barkley had thirty days to untangle the legal knot that had bound them together during an undercover assignment years before. But this sexy, curvaceous Alyssa was different from the mousy, awestruck rookie agent he remembered. And now her every move had him wondering what it would be like if he really were her man....

Saved the BEST for Last 4 out of 5 stars.
8 of 8 people found this review helpful.

Ms. Alers definitely saved the BEST for last in "The Whitfield Brides" series. I was CAUGHT UP in the budding romance between Simone Whitfield and Raphael Madison. We were introduced to Simone in the first two stories, but now we get a REAL glimpse into her character and her personality. Throughout this series, Simone is portrayed as a beautiful, outspoken, rough and tough tomboy, but in HER story we also get to see that she also has a sensitive side, which she tends to keep well-hidden from her family and friends. After witnessing an attack on a federal judge she becomes a protected witness for the federal government. And her world is turned upside down by the very SEXY, take charge U.S. Marshal Raphael Madison, who is assigned as her bodyguard. Simone and Rafe have quite a ROCKY start at first, and despite the fact they are TOTAL opposites they seem to compliment each other PERFECTLY. Rafe definitely has a way of bringing out the best in Simone. And even though, I found this story inundated with unimportant details regarding flowers, decor, clothing, houses and food, it still held my attention because of the SIZZLIN' romance between Rafe and Simone. And once again I enjoyed the camaraderie that Ms. Alers creates within this BIG extended family during their many social gatherings throughout. I was pleasantly surprised by the third and final installment to this series.

Editorial Review:

When tall, ruggedly handsome U.S. marshall Raphael Madison tells spirited five-foot-three floral designer Simone Whitfield that he's her live-in bodyguard for the duration of a high-profile court case, the notion that opposites attract definitely applies.

But while trying to stay busy and ignore the magnetic pull of the hunky lawman, Simone discovers that sharing her home with a bodyguard stirs up a storm of longing. Soon, their closeness becomes electrifying, as friendship brings intimacy and an endless night of uncontrollable passion. But will the morning after bring regrets…or promises of forever?

Loving Thy Neighbor 5 out of 5 stars.
9 of 9 people found this review helpful.

What a DELIGHTFUL romantic treat! Although I have a few of Michele Sudler's novels, this is the FIRST one I've actually read. I was CAPTIVATED from the first page. Ms. Sudler tackles several issues confronting women of all ages with regards to the dating scene. I enjoyed the matchmaking schemes of Kayla's best friend, Wanda and her two lovable teenage daughters. Ms. Sudler weaves a touching, humorous, and SPICY read. I found all the characters engaging and MEMORABLE. The few sexy encounters between Kayla and Marley are definitely HOT, HOT, HOT (my husband definitely needs to get a motorcycle)...LOL. I found the ending REFRESHING and believable. And I look forward to reading more about the Jarnette family and their circle of friends. Well done, Ms. Sudler!

(RAW Rating 4.5) I'll Be There 5 out of 5 stars.
8 of 10 people found this review helpful.

Kayla is a divorcee living in Dover, Delaware with two teenage daughters, Kaitlyn and Kamry, who together have sworn off men and boys in an effort to get their lives back on track. But, is the sworn pact a true testament to their needs, or is it a selfish ploy by Kayla because of the hurt felt by the failure of her marriage? THREE DOORS DOWN by Michele Sudler showcases the lives of these three women and a man, Marley, who lives three doors down.

For months Marley has watched and pined after Kayla. A chance introduction leads to seduction which leads to a relationship, or so it seems. Seeing the sparks fly between their mother and Marley leads the girls to set up a date for the two. Marley is a member of a motorcycle club and he asks Kayla to accompany him to their chapter's annual picnic. The girls are hyped because maybe, just maybe, their mother will ease up and allow them to spend time with their friends, go to parties and possibly date. Kayla's girls are as different as night and day, one is prissy and selfish, while the other is a tomboy and very athletic. However, neither girl can spread their wings because their mother is overbearing and overprotective.

Michele Sudler's story is very enlightening and her characterizations are realistic. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the antics of the girls and the secondary characters as they plot to set their mother up. The addition of Marley's brothers, friends and co-workers add spice to the storyline and assist with the understanding of the main characters' psyche and experiences. It was truly a treat to watch their involvement. Her take on family and the imagery she displays for all of the characters is on point, this includes the sex scenes which are detailed and tantalizing.

Michele Sudler's romance, THREE DOORS DOWN, hits the mark on single parenting, teenage relationships, healthy self-esteem and a host of issues as it relates to family values and character. With the addition of a lot of humor, this is an excellent romantic read. Also, I do see another story on the horizon; Marley's brother, the infamous Nester, definitely has a story to tell.

I loved and really enjoyed this book. It was a sweet, funny, romantic book. The characters were great both the main and the secondary characters. I loved the twins, they were LOL funny. The little boy was too cute, adorable and lovable for words. Without that little boy I think the story would have been less than it was.

Editorial Review:

Choices is an engaging, light-hearted, contemporary story set in coastal South Carolina, where an African-American woman and Caucasian widower find love, opposition, and a surprising ally in the ghost of a deceased spouse.

Lara Boyd is a woman who has lived the last six years happy in her career but unfulfilled in her personal life. An unanswered ultimatum given by her ex-fiancé left her uncertain and tentative, but when Ryan Andrews and his young son, Justin, enter her life, making choices and living with them takes on a whole new meaning.

Choices is the theme running through this story. Lara's fear springs from a choice she couldn't make years before, and the story opens when Justin makes the choice to meet his teacher, thereby bringing Ryan and Lara together. By the end of the story; Lara, Ryan, and Justin are all making even bigger choices because of their deep love for one another.
