Great pocket book of relevant up-to-date information for the office. The book is sized to fit in the heel of your boot so the spies don't get it. Of course, if you're over 45 (as I am), this is a distinct disadvantage as my arms are not long enough to read it. If you don't have your glasses or a magnifying glass, you're screwed. Tarascon has proven they CAN make larger format books and they should consider doing it with this gem. They can label it "Large Print Edition". Braille might be a good idea.

This is the best book. I was writing a book about my son who has SI Dysfunction. He is 23 years old now. I was in Barnes and Noble looking for another book when I found this. I was blown away. I never knew there was a book like this. I could have really used this book when Marcus was little. It is so wonderful. I opened it and started reading about my son. My book is called What's Wrong With My Child? Struggling With Sensory Integration Dysfunction. It is only a mother's story of how my child coped with this thing. It is not meant to be a book like Carol Stock Kranowitz's. Her book is wonderful. Anyone who has any questions about their child who has SI Dysfunction. This book is it. Shelly R. Wilson

I have been a medical transcriptionist for more than 40 years - have taught this class in college - and was a hospital supervisor for many years.

I just ordered this newest edition and am sure that I will refer to it often as I have the older editions in the past. It is a wonderful reference book and a very important one in today's world ---with more and more abbreviations constantly being used.

*** Thought I would mention -- that mmHg is a very acceptable term - in fact, it is the preferred way to type (millimeters Mercury). I can say that the Medical Record's Departments of all four of the hospitals I have worked at (or have been the transcription supervisor at) would correct us --if we didn't write it this way. This can readily be realized by reading a few medical journals......

Again - this is a wonderful book - but remember to keep getting updated versions - as more and more abbreviations and acronyms are constantly being used.

I used this book as a supplement to my 3rd year clerkship in med school. It is not a huge text, so it was great for looking up the details that were not found in Blueprints, especially if you are interested in OB for a career. The book is well organized and is easy to read. Too much to read for board review or shelf exams, but an excellent reference book for OB/GYN.

The topics are designed to be read in 5 minutes or less and all the up to date information to diagnose and treat a specific illness is included. The topics are alphabetized, so they are easy to look up. Thr Bright futures pocket guide great for anyone treating pediatric patients or in nursing or medical school. I would highly recommend this book. I am in my last rotation as a family nurse practitioner and I use this book daily.

I would recommend this book if you are studying for the RHIT or RHIA test. I took the RHIT test and passed!! I found the book and the cd to be very useful in my studies. It helped me to identify what areas I needed to study more and what areas were my strengths.

No matter how prepared you may be, this guide is a must have for those studying to complete their Associates/Bachelors Degree in HIT or HIM. This book supports the review guide needed to complete the AHIMA RHIT/RHIA certification exam. I wouldn't take the exam(s) without it!

The review guide allows you to practice your test taking skills as well as providing a host of sample questions to cover all aspects of the RHIA and RHIT exams. It has given me insight into the area(s) that I need to focus more on. Having the answers and some explanations after each topic is very helpful. All of the questions provide a reference from which it was derived. The book also comes with a CD which also helps in preparation for the accreditation exams.
