This highly unusual adventure will get rave reviews 5 out of 5 stars.

What more can one say about Stephen Marley's "Managra" than that it is a masterpiece of not only the limits to which the "Dr. Who" genre can be taken, but also an exercise in highly entertaining speculative fiction. Marley's book is set on Earth in the far future, where the continent of Europa is an insane asylum populated by the power-hungry, the undead, and cloned copies of famous historical figures. Into this milieu steps the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane...and the fireworks begin

The best Dr Who novel - ever 5 out of 5 stars.

Managra is simply the best Dr Who novel ever written. Its dark humor is hilarious, the pace cracking, and the wit sharp and biting. The story takes place in a sort of Hammer House of Horror living theme park where characters from different periods in European history jockey for position (one of these positions is that of Official Antichrist). It'a a pity the new Dr Who series hasn't yet come near the imagination and comedic wit of this book. Read it, I urge you. Marley is the uncrowned king of Dr Who novel-writers.

Editorial Review:

Based on the widely acclaimed television show of the 1970s, which still boasts a tremendous following today, this collection of the missing adventures of Dr. Who Time Lord, promises to enthrall fans of the popular series.

A brilliant dark fantasy 5 out of 5 stars.

This has to be the most under-rated novel I have ever read. It is a dark, mysterious, ghostly tale set in a strange ancient China of Marley's own creation, but which possesses a curious sense of realism and a lot of wry dark humor. It is impossible to sum up the complexity of this outstanding work. Every page cries out for attention, the sense of mystery and horror is omnipresent, and the main character, Chia Black Dragon is IMHO the most powerful and convincing personality in the history of fantasy. Truly brilliant.

wild weird and wonderful 5 out of 5 stars.

I had pretty much given up on the Dredd novels after reading David Bishop's and Dave Stone's flat, derivative efforts but fortunately I gave the Judge Dredd series one more go and discovered this gem. Marley's "Dreddlocked" (and his "Dread Dominion") is not just good, it's great! Packed with imaginative action and wry dark humor and a heap of clever cultural references, Dreddlocked's ingenious plot pulls you in from the very first paragraph, revealing Mister Cairo's investigation of the mystery that lies in the ruins of Old New York. Among many delights is a resurrected James Cagney (in his cinematic gangster persona) taking on a grim Judge Dredd.
