One of the best SF books I've ever read 5 out of 5 stars.

Astro Pilots is a good book. I like Sf books and this one beats them all. The author seems to know the characters very well as they are described carefully with a very good detail. It is very inriguing and when I have nothing to do and would like to read something I end up with this book in my hands. The author not only does she know how to write, but seems to know Physics and Chemistry, and also knows how to use her brain. This is shown by the telepathic alien called Sssrei who is Jason's friend. This alien has a different view: "shifted into the ultraviolet", and the writer succeeded in getting the right colour that the living crystal ball saw for violet. Mixon wrote a good book making Collegium very realistic indeed, and whenever I read the book I always feel as if I'm one of the cadets attending the school. I wish that this school really existed.

Needs to be a movie 5 out of 5 stars.

I enjoyed this book very much. The characters are so well written, I felt like I knew them personally. If I knew how to write a screenplay, this, I'm sure, would be a blockbuster. I haven't even read the book in over 6 years, but I can remember the whole thing like I just read it.

Glass Houses is fabulous 5 out of 5 stars.

I first read this serialized in Analog, and it is one of my
all time favorite science fiction stories. One cannot help
but empathize with the heroine. I admit that I am partial to the story because the climactic scenes take place not
far from where I grew up, so it is easy for me to visualize
what is going on. Still, the dark picture of New York City
in the future really sucks you into the story.

A very fast-paced adventure set in a not-too-distant future. 4 out of 5 stars.

If you liked GIbson's Neuromancer, you'll like Glass Houses. Mixon has a gift for writing realistic characters who are compelling and believable. If you can find this book, I recommend you buy it.

Plot is good, detail is incredible 3 out of 5 stars.

Laura Mixon spent a lot of time doing research for this book, with the greenhouse effect, robotics, etc. It is a very good story, and also includes some alternate lifestyles. Very good, I can't wait to read more.

Editorial Review:

When Ruby, the proprietor of an android business, and Golem, her favorite android, attempt to save a rich Egyptian from a collapsing skyscraper, they instead become deeply involved in an adventure that could take Ruby to the despised Outside. Original.

Editorial Review:

Laura J. Mixon's 21st century is a far cry from utopia; pollution and global warming have begun to ravage the planet and drive a cowering populace indoors. Gangs of violent, dispossessed children prowl city streets, fresh foods are hard to come by, and average temperatures reach 130 degrees Fahrenheit. But along with the bad side effects of technology come the good: scientist Carli D'Auber's stunning advancement in communications allows people to send their consciousness across vast distances and interact at the other end through a remote device called a waldo. Most people are familiar with the small, trash-can-like waldos... but in a secret crèche, children are being raised to pilot humanoid versions called proxies, and they're being instilled with a deadly serious ideology. Can Carli, hunted by a renegade proxy with incredible strength and a frighteningly simplistic agenda, stay alive long enough to figure out what's going on? Part mystery, part human drama, and part a fantastic blend of cybertechnology, cloning, and telepresence, Proxies will keep you on your toes till the end.
