This is a cute story, and the play on words with Hally Tosis is funny. My son likes this story, but it doesn't engage him in the way that some of the other Dav Pilkey books do. The writing just isn't as funny as it is in Dogzilla and Kat Kong. However, the illustrations are very funny, and we like to talk about all of the different reactions to Hally's doggy breath. In fact, the illustrations entertain my son more than the story.

Hally is a dog with bad breath. It is extremely bad breath. So bad the family feels they need to get rid of him. However, when his horrific breath saves the family from danger, the dog gets to stay and is a hero.

This is the story of Hally Tosis, a dog who has such bad breath that her owners can find nothing to cure it. They figure they'll have to give her away. But one night Hally captures two men robbing her owners home-stuns them with her breath.

She's a sweetheart of a dog in a sweetheart of a tale. My boys just love this one. It makes all of us laugh every time we read it together!

My son absolutely loves this author and I wanted to get some books he and his younger sister could enjoy together. They love this series! My son even took them to school and his teacher read the entire series to the class, all the kids loved it. Some potty humor, yes, but irreverent and innocent as well!

My son really likes Dav Pilkey books. This set is no exception. They are very short cute books. I only wish they were a little longer.

This is a great and funny book. I would recommend this book to anyone. Boogers, poop, underpants, and funny names, and activities are all loaded into Captain Underpants books. If you want a good, funny, easy read then this is the book for you. There are comics inside written by two child characters named Harold and George. They are very short and funny, with hilarious pictures.

Do you like to read funny books that make you laugh threw every single chapter? Well then you should definitely read Captain Underpants and the Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Women by Dav Pilkey. In this book George Beard and Harold Hutchins tries to get their teacher Ms. Ribble to change their grades back to normal because they tricked her into almost marrying the principal. So Harold Hutchins comes up with the idea of trying to hypnotize Ms. Ribble.
But little did both Harold and George know that the hypotonic ring they had purchased a while back worked differently on women. Every time they tell women something, the hypnotized female does the opposite. While hypnotizing their teacher Harold told her, you will change our grades back, not turn into wedgie women, not try to destroy Captain Underpants, and not try to take over the world. My daughter is 6 and she loves this book. It's silly and the graphics are funny. We also enjoyed Dogzilla. Wish Dav Pilkey would come out with another one!

I was first introduced to this book by a second grade student who told me Dav Pilkey was his favorite author. I was just impressed that a second grader knew an author much less had a favorite one. After I read this book and Dogzilla, Pilkey became my favorite too! I now purchase the two books frequently to read to kids of all ages. I usually end up giving the copies to some "lucky" kid in the crowd, and I always purchase more for my next reading visit. KIDS LOVE PILKEY!! (and so does this adult)

My 7yr old son borrowed the first book in this series from the school library and it was the first book he had borrowed that he read all of it and loved it. So I then wanted to hunt them down for him as he is not an avid reader and these books really grabbed his attention. I highly recommend them for any young reader who can just read chapter books as this will boost there reading and interest. Also Amazon came through again with being the only carrier of the whole set at such an amazing price. Thanks.Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot Adventures

I have two boys, 6 & 7 who have loved the cottony-captain for two years now. Both have been reading CU on their own since 1st grade. We have them all in their goopy, gross gloriousness. They're always good to go back to EXCEPT they are poorly bound(I mean the paperback ones) and fall apart and ours are all taped together. Boo for the binding, yahoo for the silly content that keeps two wild things still enough to read.

My eight-year-old loves this book, and I think it's hilarious myself. If fighting vicious toilets using underwear and cafeteria food sounds funny to you, you'll love this book.

This book does teach a certain amount of contempt for adults and suspicion of cafeteria food to children. In that sense maybe it's emblematic of our society. I have found it necessary to sit down with my son and explain that all of this is FICTION, and has nothing to do with the real world. Did that have any effect? I don't know. I suppose it's worth it to have him reading.

I bought this book for my eight year old along with KatKong and she loves the illustrations and word play. I could hear her laughing from downstairs! In Dogzilla, Pilkey recreates the Godzilla I knew and loved as a child by replacing the fictional creature with a common pet dog. The story is especially funny as a read aloud.

Dogzilla and Kat Kong are the favorite books in my classroom. They are literally loved to death every year so I have to buy about three or four replacements a year! The photos collages of the animals are great and the children love reading the story to each other out loud. I highy recommend both books.

This colorful book is a collection of 4 very short Christmas-y stories - none of them actually "religious" in nature, but rather they touch on the spirit of the holiday season. Each story has a sincere message and can be enjoyed at face value, or can serve as a catalyst for a more meaningful discussion with your child. The illustrations and the story are pleasing for both adults and the young audience. It is perfect for reading to an audience of children under the age of 8 - and can also be read by 1st or 2nd graders. This type of book fills a void for young readers that seems to fall between the overly simply picture books and the more advanced chapter books that often lack engaging artwork. My children, ages 4 and 7 both enjoyed the book and we will be buying more Dav Pilkey books.
