I bought this set of Flat Stanley books to add to my "teacher collection". There are so many great projects that can be done with this book and Amzazon offers it at such a great price!!!!!!!!! Well worth it!

We purchased these to read with our 3rd, 1st and pre-K children. After reading the 1st book we made and colored our own Flat Stanleys and carried them around our town taking pictures. Then we made a journal of our adventures and mailed our Stanleys to friends. So far Stanley has been to Arizona, the Philippines and Spain! We have learned so much about geography, different cultures and important landmarks, features, etc. This has been a fun project and one I would encourage paretns to try.
There are a few 'words' in this book that we do not use in our family but reading them led to some good discussion. These are not 'bad' words just some name calling type words that you might hear differnt places that we do not encourage our children to use.

Great addition to the Flat Stanley collection. Stanley really appeals more to 1st and 2nd Graders and children a little older who are reading at a lower level. They are always intrigued about "being flat?"

More flat stanley was on his christmas list, and he has spent more hours reading and re-reading the 6 books in this series than on any of his other also much requested christmas presents. He does love his legos but half of the sets are being opened only now, a month on, while these were his evening companions right away -- totally sweet stories with two little boys in a nice family that a beginning reader can relate to.

He finds them more amusing and adventurous than horrible harry or junie B which for the most part are restricted to a classroom environment. He does like those, or Jigsaw Jones etc, but none of them so firmly captured his imagination that he actually chose to read these books rather than request video game time ! the ultimate test!!! ...

We began with Flat Stanley when reading chapter books to my young son, then we began reading the whole set of 'Stanley Books'. We have loved them.
The books are fun enough and interesting enough to keep the attention of a four year old over the course of several nights. There are a few pictures and they are charmingly illustrated.
In this book, the plot is centered around Stanely and a magic lamp. The story is fun and although a fantasy type book, easy for even young children to grasp.

I read a good book called Stanley and the Magic Lamp. Stanley finds a lamp and wishes to get answers for his homework. Then he gets an askit basket and puts his paper in and gets his answers. This book is very entertaining and funny. Read the book to see what happens when Arthur, Stanley's little brother, and Stanley make more wishes from the genie. See what happens when he starts wishing for bigger wishes.

My friend ... let Me borrow Stanley in Space. I read the Whole Book in one day. It's about a kid named Stanley Lambchop. He goes on this ship called the Star Scout. That's all I can tell you. But if you want to hear more then BUY THE BOOK.

Stanley Lambchop has already had adventures: first he was flattened by a bulletin board and helped stop a museum burglary, then he and his brother found a magic lamp with a wish-granting genie inside. Still, his parents muse at the beginning of the book, it's nice to have an ordinary day without any tiring adventures. Then the President of the United States calls looking for a boy who has adventure experience for a special mission, and the entire Lambchop family goes on a space adventure!

While the book assumes the reader has already read "Flat Stanley" and "Stanley and the Magic Lamp", one could read this book first with no loss. The references are quick and complete, and the story line of this book does not rely on them.

This is a good beginning chapter book, as are all the books of the series that we've read so far. Chapters are quick and mainly to the point. While I thought the discussion between the President and the parents was a bit long the remainder of the book entertained my six-year-old son enough that he never mentioned any slow parts at all. In fact, he originally took this book out from the library and was incredibly excited when he was able to get His Own Copy of the book a short time later.

A fun, imaginative little book!

Sliding under closed doors is fun, and it's gratifying to be of use to his mother when she drops her ring through a narrow metal grating. Expensive plane fare to California? No problem. Svelte Stanley folds comfortably into a brown paper envelope. There's even room left over in there for an egg-salad sandwich. But Stanley's true moment of glory comes when a gang of thieves begins stealing paintings from the Famous Museum of Art. The case seems hopeless--until our two-dimensional hero saves the day. I didn't like Invisible Stanley because it didn't have enough action or character's thoughts and feelings. Flat Stanley is much better than Invisible Stanley.I like how Stanley gets flat by a bulletin board.

Would you like to be invisible and get shot? You will like this book, I did. I like this book because Stanly helps Arthur. He helps a little boy on a bicycle too. You will have a lot of fun going through the pages that Jeff Brown wrote. Stanley and Arthur always help each other. When you read this book, the author is telling you some thing, find out. Will Stanley be invisible forever? Find out in the book Invisible Stanley. The adventures are waiting to be discovered.

I bought it for my son and he really like it. It was written with simple language that a 5 or 6 year old can read by himself. My son only asked me a few words he did not know. The story itself is even more educational. I am sure it will help kids to have postive thinking.

Stanley Lambchop has had his share of unusual adventures. But being flat was one thing he thought he was through with forever. Then one morning, he discovers he was wrong. Still, there is so much that a boy who is only one inch thick can do that a round person can't. Maybe this time, all it will take is one amazing event for everything to finally make sense.
