these stories are not like the original series 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

As other reviewers have stated, this is a nice quality book, with a heavy binding and nice colorful illustrations. My low rating for this book comes not from the production of the item but from its content.

I remember loving Scooby-Doo when I was a kid, and now my son is into this show. We prefer the original series shows to the later ones, in part because they are simpler and more innocent: the monsters are not real, they are just people made up to look like ghosts or whatever. It was a fun show that dealt with greed and misdeeds in a light-hearted way, without murder and supernatural forces. Also, at the end of the original stories, the cops always showed up to portray the kids as being on the side of justice, not vengence.

However, in this book there are several stories where the monsters ARE real. In "Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders", the space aliens are really from outer space, they transform into lizard-like forms near the end of the story and get picked up by a space ship. In "Scooby-Doo and the Witches Ghost", the story involves real witches doing real magic and a real ghost who does away with the bad guy at the end. He is not arrested, but is sucked into a spell book along with the evil witch-ghost (see p. 199 in the images). These two stories in particular are not in line with the light-heartedness of the orignal series. They are more frightening (for a kid) than the classic Scooby-Doo tales, and I don't find them appropriate for my young son.

The age range for this book says 4-8, but I think age 4 is maybe too young to be faced with real monsters (just my opinion).

Scooby Stickers 4 out of 5 stars.

I bought this book for my niece. She absolutely loved the book due to the content but I thought there could have been more stickers included. Still, a good buy for the young fan.

Great gift! 4 out of 5 stars.

I bought this as a gift for my niece. She had it on her Amazon wishlist. She was very happy to receive this. I would have like to have known that this book was very thin. There wasn't much to it. Overall, my niece loved it.

Cute, but a little overpriced 3 out of 5 stars.

Definitely cute, if you are a Scooby-Doo fan like all my kids are, but the book is pretty thin---I would say 20 pages or so and for the money I'm not sure it was worth it.

Too difficult for age 4 3 out of 5 stars.

The stickers in this book were colorful and fun. Putting them in the correct spot is another story. The pages have vague shapes that resemble the shapes of the stickers. The outlines to place the shapes were too vague for my 4-year-old to place the stickers himself. There are also no realy story lines on the pages so it's not that much fun to put the stickers on the pages. Which is probably why the stickers ended up on my wall :(

The book is great for the stickers but could use some improvement to really fit the age range it's being marketed to.

Editorial Review:

See all your favorite Scooby characters in this sticker book, including Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Daphne, Velma, and Fred. There are more than 60 stickers of the Mystery Inc. gang and the ghastly ghouls they unmask. Have a hauntingly good time!

Book Review By MENDIOLA ROOM #B1 a
Scooby Do The Search for Scooby Snacks

If you like cartoon books you are in the right place. You'll like reading this book.
I like Scooby do because it is very, very funny book.
This story is about Scooby and Shaggy looking for their food that was lost. A bear was eating it. In my opinion this book is very good because you will laugh all through and enjoy the book from beginning to end. This book showed me not to leave my snacks on the floor because someone could come and eat them. This
Book is very funny. YOVANI

love this book 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

We absolutly love this book. The pictures clues are such a fun way to help my son learn to read. He helps me read the story and gets so excited.

Editorial Review:

The Picture Clue books are based on the traditional "rebus Reader" - using a picture as a tool for learning a word. On the sample spread, you can see where a picture is substituted for a word. This gives a young reader a sense of pride that she is "reading" the story. All pictures and vocabulary are on flashcards at the end of the book.Scooby and the gang are at the North Pole helping Santa get ready for Christmas. Scooby and Shaggy helped bake cookies, but now they're all gone! Who took the cookies? It looks like there's a mystery to solve!

We just gave this to our 7 yr old Scooby lover for Christmas. He loved it and it was one of the things he started playing with immediately. He hasn't tried the glow in the dark part yet, I don't know if he realizes it does that.

Packed with 60 full-color, reusable, glow-in-the-dark stickers, these books have great scenes of Scooby-Doo and his meddling, mystery-solving friends.

A great addition for Scooby Doo fans and children! 5 out of 5 stars.

Scooby Doo and his friends are invited by Santa Clause to the North Pole where they are told of Santa's missing sack of presents. Of course, the gang sents out to find the missing sack, where all clues lead to Santa's Bake shop, a very tempting bakery for all who love sweets. In the end, the story does a good job convincing kids that too much candy can get the better of you! My 4 1/2 year old, who is big on sweets, loves this book and its attractive scratch and sniff stickers which keeps kids involved throughout the story. I highly recommend this one!

Don't bother buying - too confusing 2 out of 5 stars.

Although the book is very cute - you have to put your own stickers in the book...which wouldn't be difficult IF the stickers matched the pictures or had a shape that matched to put the sticker on. Rarely did the pictures even match so I went through the book several times trying to find where I should put the stickers. On 3 occasions the stickers were too big for the spot so you either put it on correctly and let it hang over the side of the page or you put it on the page and it didn't line up to the picture. One sticker was so big it covered Shaggy and Scooby's entire faces. The story didn't even match the stickers in one place. It talked about following footprints yet the stickers were handprints!! The only thing I liked were the intense smells but even those were limited. The majority of the stickers (15) were chocolate. Being about a candy shop you'd assume they would have a huge variety of smells but they had only about 5 total. There were 2 full pages of stickers so you'd think they'd have at least 1 cool different smell per page. There were even stickers left over so I just put them in the book for fun because they had no purpose...they weren't even replacement stickers - they were just there. I was very dissapointed with this book.

In Limbo with a Ghost Pirate. 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 3 people found this review helpful.

In this Scooby-Doo Adventure, Scoob and the gang find themselves at Sandy Cove, an ocean resort where Daphne's Aunt Maggie and Uncle Murray live. The gang has come to help Daphne's family with Frye Fest, a local celebration in honor of the pirate Captain Horace P. Frye, to help raise money for the town. A big city developer is in the area and is buying up all sorts of land. Then the Ghost of Captain Frye raises from the sea and threatens to wreck Frye Fest. Something smells fishy, but if Scoob and the gang want to save Sandy Cove, they have to work fast and unmask the ghost. Good story.

Ahoy! 5 out of 5 stars.

Cute book for Scooby Fans! 5 out of 5 stars.
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

I just purchased this book for my Scooby-lovin' first grade daughter. The story and illustrations are cute - not scary. Perfect for a 5 or 6 year-old. The age states K-grade 2, however, an average K - grade 1 child will not be able to read this without help. The sentences are short, but many of the words are on a 2nd grade level. This book has such a cute ending - especially if your little one loves dogs!

Editorial Review:

The Scooby-Doo Readers are a level above the Picture Clue Books. The text is easy-to-read and the art is bold and full-bleed, making these an appealing Level 2 Reader. The gang is helping to build a playground. But is the site haunted? A full moon and howling at night? Zoinks! Only Scooby-Doo can solve this mystery.
