Good for scooby fan 4 out of 5 stars.

Good for new readers who love Scooby. Kind of dopey plot though (of course tv show always ends "too neatly" for anyone who's not a kid- part of scooby's campy appeal).

A good resource for developing reading skills in level 2 children 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Designed to be used to help level 2 children improve their reading this book starts with a sound foundation. By using cartoon characters that the children are familiar with, there will be an initial interest. The story is also one that is silly. Shaggy and Scooby mistake the football players and their fans as aliens. They also see a blimp overhead and believe that it is the aliens' space ship. This level of silliness is one that the young readers will see through and enjoy. Therefore, I recommend this book as a teaching tool for children of the appropriate reading level.

Editorial Review:

Go team! Scooby and the gang love to cheer for their favorite football team, but there's something strange about the fans at the game. Are space aliens watching the game as well? It looks like another mystery for Scooby and the gang!

Scooby and the gang are ready for a fun afternoon in the new Viking Village at Happy Sally Land, a nearby amusement park. Scooby and Shaggy can¹t wait to ride the Nordic Nor¹easter, the most rip-roaring roller coaster around. But when an angry Viking sabotages the ride and scares away all the visitors, it looks like no one will ever get to ride the new roller coaster, much less Scooby and Shaggy. It¹s up to the gang from Mystery, Inc. to track down the Viking before his villainy closes down Happy Sally Land forever.

Great for young kids 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This book reprints the first five issues of the DC Comics Scooby Doo series. They are great for children, and something we can read together as a family. The art is very good, especially in the stories drawn by Joe Staton and Ernie Colon. The only downside is that in reprinting the comics, they had to shrink the pictures. Thus, I'd encourage people to buy this book, and also encourage them even more to buy the current comic series.

Fun for me and my son. 4 out of 5 stars.

I have the pleasure of being able to read these stories to my son. While this is not a title I would probably have picked up on my own...I greatly enjoy being able to share them with him...and I enjoy them to boot.
The art by Ernie Colon and Joe Staton is right on the money...and while the stories may be a little light they are still a great amount of fun.
