Excellent Book 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 3 people found this review helpful.

We took this book on a trip to London (obviously), and went to several of the restaurants in the guide. All of the restaurants that we visited were fabulous. We would look up a restaurant and then go to that part of town to eat, which really helped in getting us out to other parts of London that we might not have normally visited. Highly recommended. Also went to eat a couple of times at "Wasabi", a Japanese fast food chain. It wasn't in the book, but I really enjoyed it. The sushi was very fresh and super reasonably priced.

Editorial Review:

A must-have for the novice hawaii vacationer 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I purchased this book about eight months before my husband and I went to Hawaii. I read it cover to cover, and felt very well-informed about all of our travel and accomodation choices. I suggest you really stick to the hotels and restaurants she reviews - the ones not in there are not mentioned for a reason - we stayed in a bad hotel in Waikiki that she didn't mention, and almost booked a terrible luau (Germaine's) that is also not mentioned in the book. Everything we did that she mentioned, however, was great! She offers a wealth of knowledge in a very easy to read book, we would have been lost without it. I bought several other books on Hawaii, but found myself returning to this one time and again.

A Great Little Addition 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I liked this book very much it has many affordable restaurants listed with their addresses and hours of operation. I loved the little facts and tips provided throughout. It also has maps in the back, so you can find the places listed. Most helpful are commonly used Italian words and their definitions. I am looking forward to going back to Florence and visiting the recommendations by the author!

Perfect Travel Companion 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The reviews in this book were perfectly on point. We found ourselves trying to schedule in more time to eat so we could continue to try the recommended restaurants. This book is a keeper for our next trip.

Editorial Review:

Editorial Review:

Since its publication in 1998, “The $100 Hamburger- A Guide to Pilot’s Favorite Fly-In Restaurants” has become more than a book. It is a cultural phenomenon felt far outside its intended target market, general aviation owner pilots. Virtually every aviation magazine has written about the book. The April 2001 edition of Plane& Pilot referred to it as “general aviation’s version of the Zagat Guide”. The November 2001 edition of Flying pointed it out to “Fly-in diners intent on finding decent $100 Hamburgers.” The mainstream media has covered as well. The July 26, 2001 edition of The Wall Street Journal featured an above the fold, front page article of 23 column inches. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune and others had written flattering feature articles on our book over the life of the next edition. The book’s companion website clocks over 450,000 site visits per month. Each week it receives 50 to 100 updates (PIREPs) from our pilot readers. These PIREPs affect over 80% of the sites reported on in the book. New restaurants have opened, some restaurants and even some airports have closed. Today only twenty percent of the data from the current edition is fully accurate. The new edition will feature over 80% new content – new restaurants, new airports, and completely updated reports on both from pilots all over the US, Canada, and the UK.
