Clifford the Big Red Dog 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is definitely one of the classics of modern literature. The humor is infinitely sharper than that of all other children's literature. The illustrations remind one of the early days of Ted Degrazia. Buy this book and your life will be changed for the better.

extremely disappointing 1 out of 5 stars.

Empty CD (3 min twice - what a rip off!)
bad pictures, flat reading and not educational at all.
I'm giving a rating of zero.
Try the excellent stories by Arnold Lobel,
"Stories of Pirates" by Russell Punter, or Bear's series by Else Holmelund Minarik.

Editorial Review:

In 1963, a star was born - Clifford the Big Red Dog! Now he's 40 years old, and his original story is available in a deluxe, hardcover, collector's edition with flocking and foil on the jacket! When Norman Bridwell published his first book all those years ago, kids were captivated by the Big Red Dog - and they have continued to love Clifford ever since! He's an adorable dog whose well-meaning bumblings have great kid-appeal. Clifford is Emily Elizabeth's, and everyone's, favorite big red dog!

Clifford's Birthday Party 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

There is a review below that says that the book shows "how they grew up" - that is inaccurate. The book is about one day, Clifford's birthday, and the party his family has for him.

For parents who worry about the messages in the books their kids read, there is a potentially bothersome message here. Clifford's friends don't bother to show up for the party because they couldn't find gifts good enough for Clifford. If you, like me, just want books to entertain your kids and hook them on reading, Clifford's Birthday Party is worth picking up.

LOVES CLIFFORD 5 out of 5 stars.

I work with a student who has Autism and he LOVES this book so much that he has picked out his favorite pages and those are the only pages he wants to here. I have also fallen in love with this book after reading it again and again. This is an excellent book for kids. Just ask my student he will the say the same.

It's Clifford's birthday, and Emily Elizabeth is throwing a big party. There's a pinata to break, presents to open, and a very special birthday cake. Surprise! Out pops Clifford's whole family to help celebrate. Full color.

exciting and funny for all ages 4 out of 5 stars.

I've just started reading the Oz books with my 7 year olds sons and this one is so far our favorite. Bill the hen (aka Billina) is a great addition to the cast of characters, as is the Nome King. Each night as I close the book I have two boys begging me to read just one more chapter. Now that's the sign of a good book!

Best so far 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This is the best Oz book I have read so far with my son. That being said, I have only read 3 as I am going in sequential order. Nonetheless, it is much better than Book 2 and marginally better than the original.

The chief difference between Ozma and the prior two books is a streamlined narrative which focuses primarily on a single event (journey to the Nome King) with a tangible goal (free the royal family of Ev). Excluding the small section on the Wheelers and Lunch Pail trees, the fantasy elements tend more towards the traditional as opposed to Baum's imagination. You can even see a bit of the old "Mountain King" myth in this story. The net effect is that this story is more concise and less tied to the early 20th century than the preceding novels.

Another big change from the second book is a drastic reduction in the turn-of-the-century chauvinism on display in book 2. Jinjur even goes so far as to give her husband a black eye for milking the wrong cow. I am not sure if a double-entendre is intended here or not, but this is light-years away from the housewives in the prior book.

I highly recommend this as a good read to your children before they go to bed.

All of Sandra Boynton's books are a hit at our house, but Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs! is the favorite. The catchy rhymes and funny pictures are a great way to introduce the concept of opposites, counting and colors to small children.

t was okay. 4 out of 5 stars.

Ultimately we love Sandra Boynton. She has a great writing style for little kids.

Another Boynton book 4 out of 5 stars.

Gosh we love Sandra Boynton around here. Boy does she write great books.

This is a quick book of rhymes which *mostly* show opposites (dinosaur weak, dinosaur strong, dinosaurs singing a dinosaur song!) Very fast to read, and cute, engaging pictures for little ones.

Much better than I thought! 5 out of 5 stars.

My 3 year old loves this book- because of the short rhyming phrases, he was able to memorize the book after only a few readings, and now "reads" it to me. He has alot of fun with it and I think it will help him as he starts recognizing words. I have turned into a big Boynton fan!

Editorial Review:

Happy and sad. Good and bad. Opposites take on a whole new meaning when illustrated by a gang of personable dinosaurs. A die-cut cover opens to reveal chunky pages full of delightful dinosaurs singing, dancing, lumbering, galloping, and gallivanting. On board pages with a die-cut cover. This book is a main selection of the Children's Book-of-the-Month Club.

Sticks with you 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I'm now 20, but I remembered reading this book when I was much younger. It's come into my mind more than once, and I'm glad to've finally found the title of the book again. You see, this is the kind of book that'll stick with you for a very long time. You've read the plot summary, so you know that this isn't exactly a regular children's book in its mood, but if it is possible at all for a children's book to truly change the way a child looks at the world in such a way that the impression remains, this is such a book. The illustrations are beautiful and hazy and dreamlike, though the story exists not in a fantasy world, but in a very mature reality. The story is pretty unique, but the feelings of comfort and love are threads that any child could stand to learn from. I highly recommend this as a much needed book for any child's collection.

Ungrateful Bears 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Sister and Brother Bear gripe and complain that all their friends have new toys and new things. Mamma gets sick of their whining and basically tells them to be grateful for what they DO have instead of what they DON'T.

A storm comes and soon the Bear family finds themselves together and the cubs find out that family and each other is more important than things and being grateful for what they have is wiser than being covetous.

Count their blessings 4 out of 5 stars.

I enjoyed these books as a child and now I can buy them for the child in my life. Each book teaches an important lesson without seeming preachy. My nephew loves them. Make sure you select a Berenstain Bears book that is age appropriate. Some of them deal with issues for all children, some are for school aged children. Think about the content before you select yours.

Editorial Review:

Illustrated in full color. Mama Bear is tired of hearing how many Bearbie

dolls Lizzy Bruin has and how many Game Bear video games Cousin Freddy just

got. During a thunderstorm, Mama gets her cubs to realize that love and a good

home are much more valuable than material possessions.

A little disappointed... 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

In the size and quality of this product. It is exactly how it is described, but in my mind I was picturing the english version. The colors aren't as good, and the translation loses a lot of the charm of the story, but it is still a good tool for anyone teaching their child a second language.

Goodnight Moon in French 4 out of 5 stars.

This is a great nighttime story book. We use the English version for our kids and I bought the French version of this book to help me work on my French while reading the story to them.

Fun & easy reading 5 out of 5 stars.

This story is a favorite of mine in english and, now that I'm teaching french to my children, it has become a favorite of theirs in french! It's easy reading and fun with great illustrations. I was extremely pleased that Amazon had Bonsoir Lune available and my children and I highly recommend it!

It's a classic - fun to have it in French 4 out of 5 stars.

This is such an American classic - always fun to give the French version to my French friends having kids. And in my experience the book becomes a favorite of the French kids too. This version is paperback, and was smaller than I expected. That's fine though - I just appreciate having a place from which to order it.

Another great book! 4 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

i love it,so does my son! he will be making his first trip to the dentist soon-ad at 29m old we need all the help we can get!

the only part that is questionable is how Sister gets her loose tooth pulled. It even gave me the willies!

Great, great book to read before taking a child to the dentist for the first time! 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Grab this book - this one should be in every library! It's a great hit at our house because in places, it's quite funny! Sister wakes up one morning with a loose tooth and thus, talks funny! The words are spelled as such so my little one gets quite the chuckle out of how sister says certain "s" words! Anyway, sister spends the entire day wiggling her loose tooth until it's time to take brother to the dentist for his checkup. The dentist finds that brother has a cavity and lets sister stand over the chair and watch while he fills brother's tooth. Brother does try to torment sister quite a bit about how the dentist is going to "yank our her loose tooth," so she is somewhat timid to get into the chair. However, she does and while she is busy asking questions and looking at the dentist's "yanker," the dentist feels her tooth in a cloth, wiggles it around and out it comes! Sister had no idea it even happened! She's pretty excited and thrilled about all of it and was very glad that brother was wrong about the yanker! She gets a dime from the tooth fairy and was very excited!

This book does an excellent job in describing what happens when you go to the dentist. It's great for getting rid of those little jitters and it really is accurate. Great job and I highly recommend it!

Editorial Review:

Sister Bear watches Dr. Bearson fill Brother Bear's small cavity. Then it's her turn in the chair to have a dangling baby tooth removed. An entertaining story for preschoolers of a cheerful and informative visit to a dentist.

We love this book! 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This book is great to prepare for a trip on an airplane. We were getting ready to move to Australia and this book along with the "Shae by Air" DVD made a huge difference for us with our 2 & 3 year old boys.
Now that we are settled abroad, we just went on a short flight and brought the book with us to the airport-- they could not believe they were actually in the airport while looking at the pictures in the book of the check in counter, security line, and waiting area-- it was great!

Toddler son loves this book! 5 out of 5 stars.

Our son is 27 months old, and loves this book. As soon as I finish reading it, he wants to read it again. I think it would be great preparation for a toddler's first airplane flight.

Great book for little first time flyers!! 5 out of 5 stars.

I read this book to my 2 1/2 yr old son over and over again in preperation for his first airplane trip. He loved all of the sounds that the airplane made on our trip and wasn't scared or startled at all by the loud engines etc. I highly recommend this book for little first time flyers.

Editorial Review:

From the excitement of arrival to the wonder of taking off -- a picture book that captures in joyous and powerful images all the magic of an airport.
