Obnoxious and Annoying 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This is the first book I've read of the Junie B series to my son and I found the book to be annoying "I tell you". Junie B's behavior wasn't funny - it was atrocious. I don't know if I'm brave enough to try another Junie B book.

A Spectacular Book By VG From North Boulvard 5 out of 5 stars.

aloha-ha-ha

This is a very good June B. Jones book. I love chapter five when she was going on vacation and at the hotel they went to the big gift shop. June B. got a tube and she went into the pool. She got stuck in the tube so her parents had to cut the tube of.

So I recommend this book if you like June B. Jones books. I would give this book a 5stars because it was really funny and interesting book. This book is written by: Barbra Parks

Editorial Review:

It’s a week in “Pair-o-Dice!”

Junie B. and her family are going on a vacation to Hawaii! And ha! Mr. Scary is giving Junie a real, actual camera to keep a photo journal of her trip! But taking good vacation pictures is not always easy. ’Cause what if your airplane is full of grouchy ladies? And what if there is an unfortunate inner tube incident at the swimming pool? (And, oh my! Let’s not even mention what happens if a tropical bird gets tangled in your hair!) Will Junie B.’s vacation end up picture perfect? Or will her trip to Hawaii be aloha-horrible?

Amelia Bedelia is helping out again. This time she's babysitting. But don't worry -- she's got a LIST! And you all know that if there's one thing Amelia Bedelia knows how to do, it's follow instructions -- to the tiniest detail, even if she's not quite right about what those details might mean.

Young readers will absolutely love the cute story and awesome illustrations that bring it all to life! Amelia Bedelia and the Baby is a book that families will adore.

Editorial Review:

Taking care of baby

Amelia Bedelia has her hands full when she takes care of Mrs. Lane's baby. As usual, the literal-minded housekeeper mixes things up, but she also wins the heart of her newest and youngest fan.

Editorial Review:

When we last saw George and Harold, they were about to take their pet pterodactyl Crackers back to the Cretaceous period. But things didn't work out quite as they had hoped. They've entered an absurd alternate reality where teachers are nice, kids are allowed to read banned books, and the cafeteria food doesn't smell like dirty diapers. Even worse, they've discovered alternate versions of themselves--Evil George and Evil Harold--who plan to unleash some preposterous plans on Piqua, Ohio. Now it's up to George and Harold to defeat the evil twins and THEIR superhero, Captain Blunderpants!

Great book! 5 out of 5 stars.

I bought this book for my niece who is 16 months. She too can be a quiet and a loud baby at times. This is a great book for toddlers because of the bright colors and length of story.

Simple and Cute 5 out of 5 stars.

My one year old son and I read every night. The colors and the simplicity of the idea makes it easy for him to understand and learn. So further emphasize the difference in quiet and loud, I use my voice, and he laughs.

we love this book! 5 out of 5 stars.

LOVE THIS BOOK! We have had it for a year now, and my son is starting to recognize some of the pictures. We are constantly using the examples from the book. It's a fun book and great for any age. It's even been helpful for our neighbor who just started reading.

Editorial Review:

'Thinking is quiet, singing is LOUD, crayons are quiet, pots and pans are LOUD'. With colourful illustrations Leslie Patricelli humorously introduces concepts to very young children. The book has a double spread-section at the back featuring 'more LOUD things' and 'more quiet things'.

Beautiful presentation for a wonderful set 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This is a wonderful collection in a beautiful box. I purchased it for my daughter's first birthday because I wanted to get her something more lasting than a toy. I was given the 12 book collection as a child, and The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin was the first book I ever read by myself. I remember loving how the small books were perfectly suited to my small hands. (Thus, if you are thinking about getting the book with the complete collection in one, I would not recommend it for a child. It would be better for a budget conscious person to get a collection with fewer books.) The stories are so appealing and timeless, and the illustrations are just beautiful. The price may be high, but I consider it to be an investment, and one that I highly recommend.

A real treasure chest 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I bought this box as a gift to my family, as we have always loved the stories by Beatrix Potter. We've had a couple of books standing in the bookshelf since we (the parents of the family) were small ourselves. We have two boys ages 6 and 3, and both of them have fallen in love with Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny and the rest of the animals.

The box itself is both handy and pretty, and we placed it directly in our bookshelf. The books inside are the same as the ones that can be bought separately, and they all contain Potter's beautiful artwork and well-written stories.

All in all we, the whole faily, are very pleased with this buy. It just couldn't get better.

I'm also really pleased with the prices here at Amazon, as we would have to pay about $300 for this boxed set in Norway.

Editorial Review:

This title is a beautiful box containing all 23 original "Peter Rabbit Books".

I wish I could write like this! 5 out of 5 stars.
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Calling Doctor Amelia Bedelia by Herman Parish, like all of his Amelia Bedelia books, is hysterically funny. Parish's use of expressions confuse Mr. Rogers' maid, Amelia Bedelia, throughout the entire story. Poor, silly, Amelia Bedelia never realizes how confused she really is. She takes everything anyone says literally, so when her boss Mr. Rogers says "jump in the car", she thinks that he actually means to sit in the car and jump.
In this story, Amelia Bedelia goes to the doctor. However, when she gets there the nurse asks for Amelia Bedelia's help with the patients. A woman who calls the doctor's office to complain that she has "caught a bug" is told to "let it go" by Amelia Bedelia. She proceeds to tell a woman who has hives to bring some honey to the doctor's office. She looks at a bank's clock to take a patient's temperature and she tells a boy to draw his own blood onto a piece of blank paper. A boy says that he is at the office for a test and Amelia Bedelia tells him that he must go to school.
No matter what Amelia Bedelia did for most of the book, she is a hit when she "treats" the patients to ice cream! This is not exactly what the nurse had in mind when she said to treat the patients, however, Amelia Bedelia comes out looking like a hero!
Amelia Bedelia is entertaining to the adults who read this story to children because we have an even better sense of Amelia Bedelia's silliness. I love reading this story to my second graders and they love hearing it!

Editorial Review:

Funny bones

The doctor is out! But Amelia Bedelia is ready to help a crowd of grouchy patients. Along the way she doses out some of the best medicine of all -- laughter, of course!

????????? 1 out of 5 stars.
2 of 6 people found this review helpful.

I purchased this book with the high hopes of giving me the closure I felt I needed after reading the awesome Golden Compass trilogy. Unfortunately, this did not deliver. In reality, it was a big let down and I was disappointed...very disappointed...

I felt this short story was more of an "extra" that fitted no where in the trilogy, and to turn it into a quick buck, the author titled it after the original main character to trick people into buying it... Well... he got me! =D

I read the entire darn thing while I was in my doctor's waiting room.

Simply put, it's a very short story, nothing really to do with the original trilogy, and required no further thought process: you just read the story and is left with nothing to ponder over.

Although it was not "terrible," I would not recommend it.

As a matter of fact, I gave the book to the friend that made me read the trilogy so he wouldnt waste his money! It's one of those books (and I have many!) that isn't even good enough to stay in my library.

Editorial Review:

An exciting new tale set in the world of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials saga. This collectible hardcover volume includes a short story by Mr. Pullman, plus a fold-out map of Oxford and various "souvenirs" from the past. The book is illustrated throughout with woodcut illustrations by John Lawrence.

Not normal feelings 1 out of 5 stars.
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

I was hoping for a book that covered normal feelings like happy, sad, proud, etc. Instead this book is about off beat feelings like "I feel like camping with my dog." I am sure this is an appealing story for little children with all of the bright colors and pictures. However, if you are looking for legitamate feelings this is not the book.

Love This Book 5 out of 5 stars.

Great way to teach kids that everyone has feelings - some serious and some silly. Drawings are fun, and the message is beautiful.

Another cute Todd Parr board book 5 out of 5 stars.

Illustrations are fun and funny, and helps me (Dad) "illustrate" emotions for my young daughter. She finds the faces funny.

Excellent book to read to curious toddlers! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My son really enjoys when I read this book to him. He has learned to act out the feelings like "scared", "happy", "crying" and "cranky"... we both laugh together everytime we go through this exercise when we read the book. It has also helped me control his toddler tantrum - when he starts being cranky, I simply remind him of the book and tell him to act out the other "feelings" - and he totally forgets why he was cranky! Thanks, Todd Parr! I would definitely recommend this book to parents of other toddlers.

Editorial Review:

These two books, originally published in mini paper-over-board editions, are now available in a chunky board book format, just right for Todd Parr+s youngest fans. With Parr+s signature humor and brightly colored art, these kid-friendly titles will help young readers understand the must-knows of preschool-and life.

Great book! 5 out of 5 stars.

We had so much fun with this book! We used it with the Five-in-a-Row Homeschool curriculum and enjoyed it so much. Besides being a really neat children's book in general, there is a lot to learn about geography and language and other cultural benefits in this book. I recommend this one for any kid who likes to read or be read to. We have enjoyed it very much - it is one we had to have in our home, not just borrow from the library! Can't say enough!

Review of How to Make an Apple Pie and see the world 4 out of 5 stars.

Good book for teaching the natural, human, and capital resources used to produce the apple pie. Identifying the types of transportation used by the baker in gathering the resources for her pie. Trace the route of the baker as she travels around the world. A skit can be made from the book also.

Editorial Review:

Illus. in full color. An apple pie is easy to make...if the market is open. But if the market is closed, the world becomes your grocery store. This deliciously silly recipe for apple pie takes readers around the globe to gather ingredients. First hop a steamboat to Italy for the finest semolina wheat. Then hitch a ride to England and hijack a cow for the freshest possible milk. And, oh yes! Don't forget to go apple picking in Vermont! A simple recipe for apple pie is included.

This is a great and funny book. I would recommend this book to anyone. Boogers, poop, underpants, and funny names, and activities are all loaded into Captain Underpants books. If you want a good, funny, easy read then this is the book for you. There are comics inside written by two child characters named Harold and George. They are very short and funny, with hilarious pictures.
