One of my favorite Hallowe'en stories 5 out of 5 stars.
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

On her first Hallowe'en as a witch, Littlest Witch misplaces her broom, arrives late at the witches' circle and uses all her magic to help instead of haunt, those whom she encounters during the evening. Although she does not participate in the annual race to the moon, Littlest Witch has her own adventures, and ends up with a very special prize. The other witches in the witches' circle finally, grudgingly, accept that Littlest Witch is a "good witch."

I remember this book from my childhood and would love to buy a copy of it now. You say it is out of print, and I am therefore asking you to search for a copy of it from your used books networks source. Thanks

I loved this book so much as a child, I'm desperate to find a copy of it to give to my nine year old daughter for her birthday next month. It touches on so many realistic situations for children in school, and many of the emotional issues little girls face. It's a wonderful story!

Very well written and illustrated ( by the authors wife). My grandson , who is fascinated with bugs and lizards, loves the story. Written by a resident of and about a lizard in the USVI. A fun and educational story. He lives on St Thomas.

A delightful tale! 5 out of 5 stars.

This was one of my favorite books when I was little. Sad to hear it's out of print.

Beautiful Book 5 out of 5 stars.

I remember reading this book as a child, and being fascinated by the beauty of the illustrations. The story itself is wonderful, but it seems that as a kid growing up in the United States, I seldom read or heard about kids living in tropical/Caribbean settings. This book filled that void.

Editorial Review:

Jamie finds both fun and responsibility when Izzard the lizard adopts him for a mother.

Playfully spooky 4 out of 5 stars.
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

A playfully written Halloween book with just enough "spooky". It is written from the perspective of the witches. Artwork and dialogue is intriguing to youngsters. A favorite of my 3-year-old.

"Leave the dishes! It's time to go!"...A Witch's Night Out 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

This is a charming book for Halloween reading pleasure with double page illustrations and minimal text that still packs in plenty of humor and spooky fun. Meet the witches deep in the heart of the dark forest as they wake up to celebrate that certain night! Scoop a little bat stew out of the bubbling cauldron and then grab your broomstick for some ace flying. The joyful faces on this woggle of witches as they cut loose with their Halloween hijinx are sure to make you smile, too. But what's this?! The witches get "spooked" by some trick-or-treaters that send them flying back home to the forest. A great time is had by all. I love the exciting atmosphere of celebration that this book creates with so few words.

Wordless Woggle?? 3 out of 5 stars.

Purchased for my granddaughters, they thought this would be a cute story book. Well it arrived timely, and we sat down that evening to read the new book. There were very few words in the book to begin with, and it didn't get much better throughout. The story isn't really a story at all. And the author is not too clear on what they are wanting to portray. The Artwork is great and delivers a few laughs, but the book is not a good reader book. Cute, but short and not well written.

Editorial Review:

Witches are frightened by strange creatures on the night of their special celebration.

Enjoyable way to intro art appreciation along with Easter 4 out of 5 stars.
9 of 10 people found this review helpful.

I reviewed this book as part of a preschool curriculum development for an Easter theme. My 2 and 4 year olds are my audience. They have now read this book several times. On the surface, it's a very simple book about a rabbit who paints eggs. Underneath, it's about a rabbit who's too young to "keep to the task" -- until he's fully appreciated for his personal art style. If allowed, it can cause parents to think about allowing our own children to follow their interests, and can give us a way to introduce different art styles: a good precursor to a art museum field trip.

Orson Abbott 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

Adrienne Adams was one of my twin daughters' favorite book illustrators when they were small. They are now 26 so I was delighted to find this especial favorite of theirs. The Abbotts are rabbits who decorate their house, their car, airplanes and bridges during vacation, but their real business is Easter eggs. Son, Orson, helps with the one hundred dozen they have to do for Easter because he loves to paint and never tires of it.

Editorial Review:

The Abbotts, established Easter egg artists, let their son develop a style of his own when he shows interest in painting.

My daughters loved it. 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I borrowed this book from the library, and was pleased at how much my 3 1/2 year old and 5 1/2 year old daughters enjoyed it. The story line goes like this: Otto becomes intrigued with hot air balloons, and finds out that there is going to be Valentine's Day hot air balloon race. With the help of his supportive parents and a smart female friend, he learns how to build and fly a hot air balloon. My oldest daughter was excited and kicking her feet in suspense as the race progressed. Both of my girls were giggling and clapping at the ending.

My daughters like holiday theme books, and it was nice to have something for Valentine's Day that was a little bit different. The only connection to Valentine's Day is the timing of the race, and that the winner of the balloon race was determined by who dropped the first bean bag onto a huge heart that was drawn on the ground.

Editorial Review:

Bonnie and Orson, two young rabbits, build a hot air balloon to enter in a St. Valentine's Day balloon race.

I respect that this is a fairly old children's book - but it ultimately offers very little - both in the way of story and illustrations. Pass it by.

Great living book! 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

They have recommended that this book be for baby-preschool, but I think they truly underestimate the quality information contained inside of this book!

I read this book to my 6-year-old daughter and we learned the names, shapes, and colors of over a dozen shells, as well as what type of creature made the shell and HOW they made the shell!

I highly recommend this book for children up to 8.
