My 9 month old loves this book and I know it will be a favorite for years to come. She just made me read it 3 times in a row before bed and it's fun to read that many times. What's more fun than Dr. Seuss ? Interactive Dr.Seuss!!! I just bought another as a gift.

Outstanding book for my 4 year old. My mother bought me this book when I was younger and I wanted it for my child, only in Spanish. Excellent.

We bought this book as a "cheap" gift when we were in Florida, but my kids have had a great time with it. My 3 and 4 year olds colored and completed the pictures and my 6 year old read it to them! All for less than the price of some coloring books.

I do not know how the 1998 reissue is setup, but the original version, which I recently bought, thanks to Amazon, is set up like an actual artist's sketchbook/portfolio, with large pages and the drawings only on one side of the page, with plenty of room to personalize each page. Ted Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, called his creation, "a revolt against coloring books" and I agree. I don't think I've ever seen a "coloring book" like the Dr.'s - he starts a drawing and leaves a portion of the rest of the work to the imagination of the budding artist. I have no idea why Random House has let this one go out of print. I love it.

I've been journaling for years and this is one of the finest ones I have used. I may never buy from an alternate press again! The pages are lined on both sides, which I enjoy. The binding is not spiral, something I normally prefer, however the spine is strong and I have had no problem with loose leaves. The cover is made from a durable board, it does not look any worse for the wear I have put it through in the 6 months I've used it. I've also found that the paper used is very strong. If I use a felt tip pen or something else with a lot of ink the paper does not allow it to bleed through! I'm very pleased with this journal. It also has a nice name plate on the inside front page. I highly reccodmend it, along with other journals from peaceable kingdom press.

I've been searching for this book since the birth of my first child. It was my all time favorite book. My mother read it to me night and day. Upon my learning to read, I remember taking this book to bed with me during nap time and reading it over and over again. I never grew tired of seeing how children in other countries lived. This book went every where I went. I'm estatic this book has been reprinted and I can share it with my children.

This book is amazing. I found it at a thrift store for .25 and put it away for the birth of my first child. I am an American living overseas, so for my son to see all the different cultures familiar and unfamiliar, it great. He is 18 months old and just wants to look at the pictures and hear me read it over and over and over again. I never tire of reading it either.

If you can find it, get it! A great book! 5 out of 5 stars.

In typical Dr. Suess fashion (LeSieg is backwards for Geisel...Dr.Suess' real last name) this book carries the poetic rhyme that kids love. It tells the story of how homes are different everywhere, but how "they're all alike when a friend asks you in." The pictures are bright and interesting. Young children will be filled with curiosity with the amusing pictures of homes in far away lands.

I read this book to a group of first graders and they hung on every word. None had ever heard the book before. It truly is delightful! It is a shame that this fabulous book is no longer in print. I got my copy nearly 30 years ago. It is still my favorite!
