If you are looking for a stern, in-your-face, pre-Vatican ll book on religion, this is not it! What you will find is a beautiful spiritual companian written by two wise and sensitive nuns and gorgeously illustrated by another talented sister. This is a healing book for many, especially those who feel their Catholic faith has let them down at some point in their life. I think this would also be great for anyone who embraces Waldorf- style education or parenting. I absolutely loved it!!!!!!

I like the concept of viewing life and prayer through the four seasons. I like how the prayers can be used as an individual prays or for group prayer. The words speak to the heart when one does not have the words within. It encourages one to be aware of the presence of God in the day to day ordinary. Simple and direct yet challenging one to move from the head to the heart and be conscious of the movement of prayer. Helps to open our eyes and see life differently. A great addition and help especially when planning for prayer for groups.

More Catholic than I would prefer, yet still full of much wisdom and words to ponder. Could easily read it again. She so much loves Nature and sees (and seeks) God there, not in a church. This is the book's strength for me.

I absolutely loved this book! Macrina has a beautiful way of leading you through your own journey in finding the beauty in your surroundings. After reading this book I found so much to be joyful about everyday. It really changed the way I look at the ordinary things in my life. This book taught me to gaze instead of glance. I have bought as well as recommended this book for many friends and everyone has loved it.

This book came to me at a time when I most needed it. My life was undergoing major changes and I needed to make adjustments daily. It was a comfort and a guide to me then, and now. Macrina's writing made a profound difference in my life. I am so thankful for her.

If you have been looking for a way to practice lectio divina and pray with the scriptures, this is the best book for you. Set up in a retreat format, each day suggests a short reading and song line to keep you focused throughout the day. The guidelines for contemplation, meditation, and journaling are perfect for those needing help getting started. She also shares her own journaling and prayers for examples. This book was the inspiration that I needed to examine myself and God's teachings truthfully and with the help of a wonderful spirtiual leader. It also provides ways to use the book in a group retreat.

A beautiful book that gives you permission to move at your own pace. Macrina's honesty in showing the reader her most intimate thoughts is both refreshing and humbling. It is a book to be savored slowly and often.

Take A Journey Down Your Memory Lane 5 out of 5 stars.

What a delight to read the author openly share her reflections and experiences while recapturing her memories, both pleasant and challenging ones. As a result, within that framework, the author reached me on a level deeper than I ordinarily experience with a book.

Basically, the author provides the reader with a "how to" for her readers to recapture their own personal memories of the past. As the author's memories unfolded page by page, I found that I was reminded of several dozen of my own personal memories, which I entered on my nearby note pad. As a result, I now have a deeper insight into some of the gold in many of my memories. This has resulted in a rich and enjoyable reading experience for me.
