I liked the book cause it gives you good advice, and it gives you tips, tells how to get your-self out a bad situation to a good situation. It also tells you the importance of being in love. Also explains groups, cliques, classes, clubs and more. It let you yest your-self as if you were doing good or bad. I also liked the book because it gives you poems that will make your day feel better. Tells you about the Social Scene, Everyday Life, Outsiders, Grown up Factor, Tough Stuff, Life Outside the Classroom, Love, Getting Real, being a Teen-ager, and last but not least... The Real Deal!!!

Editorial Review:

CHALLENGES. Failing a class, getting dumped and figuring out where you fit in, are all difficult high school challenges. Finding the answer is not always easy. And let's face it, your parents may give you advice, but rarely do they really know where you’re coming from. So, if you’re looking for the real deal on issues like anorexia, dating, or helping a friend in trouble, you've come to the right place.

So What's the Deal?

The good news about tackling challenges is that you end up stronger and smarter once you reach the other side. These stories
are from teenagers just like you who have gone through many of the same problems and survived. Whether it’s standing up to the mean girl in the cafeteria or staying true to yourself under peer pressure, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul: The Real Deal Challenges tells you the absolute truth about what it means to be a teen.

Have you ever been in a lagoon? The book I read was "Deep Trouble". The book is about a boy name Billy and his sister name Sheena. They go stay with their uncle, William Deep. They lived in a place called the Cassandra. When they were going to leave, Billy went swimming in the lagoon and he got bit in the ankle by a hammer shark. When they were going to leave for sure a big boat came with two people inside they said they have spotted a mermaid around here. They told William Deep if he caught the mermaid that they will give him one million dollars. Billy caught the mermaid and keeps it and started to do tests on it. Alexander a assistant of them and four other men stole the mermaid and started to drown Billy and Sheena and Billy's uncle were trap in a big tank. They get free by other mermaids that came then they found the mermaid and they let it go. When the zoo people came they told them that there was no mermaid it was just an illusion.

Great book. So much fun for the weekend drawer. Could have more information/fun facts. But still, great book.

Editorial Review:

Here is a rare homage to the art of classic 2–D animation and the time–honored method of hand–drawing characters that come alive on the silver screen. The creator of "The Simpsons" and "Futurama," reveals the art of brilliant character design, backgrounds, and prop art in this lavishly detailed handbook that unveils the complex secrets behind the deceptively simple and universally loved Simpsons characters. With creative insights, artists' sketches, helpful insider hints, and step–by–step instructions, enter the imagination of "master doodler" Matt Groening and receive some professional "how–to" advice from many of the animators and directors who have made "The Simpsons" the longest–running animated show and situation comedy in television history. In our technological era when animation has become increasingly digitalized, this unique handbook records the genesis of some of the most extraordinary examples of the art of hand–drawn animated characters.

This Chicken Soup Warmed my Soul 5 out of 5 stars.
8 of 8 people found this review helpful.

Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul: Journal, was one of the most moving books I have read. It is directed towards adolescents, and deals with issues every adolescent girl faces. It's a blend of stories, quotes, poems, and spaces to write your thoughts. This book has many different sections such as: family, learning lessons, love and kindness, and tough stuff. My favorite section, however, is "loving yourself". This book gave me a chance to deal with issues and see that I am not the only girl whom faces such issues. Chicken Soup is a book that I am able to pick up and at any time if I need some inspiration, help, or reassurance. Other issues helpful to me were on drinking, self-esteem, eating disorders, and how to deal with my past. Another good part about this book is that a lot of it is compiled with texts written by teenage authors. There are spaces for friends to write about you, and spaces for you to express how you feel on certain issues. Chicken Soup allowed me to realize I was not the only girl who had experienced some of the feelings I did. After reading this book I knew I wasn't alone! I do highly recommend this book to any teenage girl. Adolescence is a hard time to get through, and many girls need inspiration. You do not have to read the book cover to cover; you can pick it up any time and read whatever section you desire.

Editorial Review:

Your hopes, your dreams, your life - Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul Journal gives you the perfect outlet to record your personal stories, feelings and experiences, in a way that is both fun and challenging.

Sections called "Friendship", "Tough Stuff", "Follow Your Dreams" and more will help you to focus on what matters most to you, how to feel about your life, how to love yourself and others. With lots of space where you can write and where you can have friends and family share their feelings with you - it is also filled with great poems, thought provoking quotes, inspirational vignettes, and more. This Journal is sure to become one of your most valued keepsakes.

Editorial Review:

The third volume in the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul series promises more love, support and inspiration for the series' loyal teen readers. More and more, life is a struggle for teens. Not just dealing with the tragedies that seem to plague them so often, but also handling the daily pressures that pervade their lives. This book, like the first two volumes in the series, will help them, and will serve as their guide and constant companion.

The original Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul, a New York Times bestseller, has sold over 4.5 million copies. Its successor, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul II, a #1 New York Times bestseller, has already sold over 2.2 million copies. The third volume in this blockbuster series promises to be every bit as successful as the first two, as teen readers continue to cherish and be inspired by this series.

Chapters focus on love, friendship, family, tough stuff, growing up, kindness, learning lessons and making a difference. In keeping with the themes and content of the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul series, teens will also find support, encouragement and understanding from their peers, as well as from caring and compassionate adults.

This book is a must-read for all teens-a book they will read and reread, sharing their favorite stories with one another over and over again. It is also the perfect gift for all adults to give to the teens in their lives.

I bought the first sisterhood of the traveling pants for my daughter when she was a young teen. Even now that she is 16 she still loves reading them. I was sure that even though she is older she could care less about them. But she insisted that I get the fourth book so she could see what was happening to the girls in the book... lol.. She LOVED it.

Editorial Review:

It's hard to believe that the Simpsons have been around for more than a decade. Today, The Simpsons is the longest–running animated series of all time (dethroning The Flintstones in February 1997), and an intrinsic part of pop culture.

The Simpsons Complete Guide to your Favourite Show is a celebration of this family's phenomenal decade. Arranged by season, the book covers each episode of the television show, with the special episodes (the annual Halloween show, "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" and "Krusty Gets Kancelled") receiving eyeball–busting two–page spreads. In addition, special sidebars are sprinkled throughout, showing:

  • Simpsons firsts

  • Bart's chalkboard lines

  • Top Homerisms

  • An Itchy & Scratchy filmography

  • A Springfield timeline

  • Things the audience may have missed

Highlighting the best of every show, The Simpsons is the ultimate celebration of the cartoon family that has kept the world in stitches. It is the ultimate must–have for all Simpsons aficionados.

Editorial Review:

Friends. You gotta have 'em, but sometimes they drive you crazy. You love 'em, but sometimes they make you mad. They'll help you through a crisis...unless they are the crisis.

So What's the Deal?

Friends are more than just the people you hang out with. They make you laugh, they keep your secrets, they offer advice (some good, some bad), they give you a shoulder to cry on. Sometimes they move away, or betray your trust, or flake out, but mostly they are the people who are always there for you. And they know you'll be there when they need you most. Because that's what it means to be a friend.

Sometimes friendship is overwhelming, sometimes it's confusing, sometimes you feel like you don't have a friend in the world, but don't worry, it's like that for everyone. That's what the stories in this book are all about. They're from real teens, and they're about the bizarre, difficult and wonderful things that really happened to them and their friends. Put that together with weird facts, cool graphics, fun advice and quizzes designed to help you figure out what you and your friends are all about, and you've got the real deal on friendship!

Editorial Review:

Being a teenager is difficult even under idyllic circumstances.  But when bad things happen, the challenges of being a teenager can be overwhelming, leading to self-destructive behavior, eating disorders, substance abuse, and other challenges.  In addition, many teens are faced with illness, car accidents, the loss of loved ones, divorces, or other upheavals, and the obstacles to happiness can seem insurmountable.  Reading about the challenges in this book will help teens support themselves and learn about what their friends might be experiencing.

The first Chicken Soup for the Soul book was published in 1993, and became a publishing industry sensation, ultimately selling eight million copies.  The company went on to publish more than 150 Chicken Soup titles, selling more than 100 million copies, and becoming a household name.

Chicken Soup for the Soul has won dozens of awards over the past 15 years, and its founders, Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen have become celebrity motivational speakers and authors.
