My Grandson loved this book and I can see why. It is written by an educator (O'reilly was a History school teacher) who knows how to explain complex material to children in a simple to understand style. O'reilly also has a Harvard degree and has a quick mind and wit that helps add to the enjoyment. This book, in the hands of a less talented person could be very boring, but it's not...it's great for the children for whom he wrote it!

A book that helps organize for life 5 out of 5 stars.

My husband of 36 years asked for a divorce after informing me of a 3-week affair with a woman 4 years older who'd already had quadruple bypass surgery. Go figure! Shock doesn't come close to describing my state.

However, I was not so shocked that common sense didn't kick in -- two days later I ordered several books on Divorce, including Ms. Sember's: I needed to protect what I could for MY future.

The Divorce Organizer & Planner came in good stead. With tears here and there, I worked those sections that were relevant to me (I didn't need to consider child custody/support issues) and collected documents I would need to go through the divorce process. While I had a consultation with a lawyer to make sure I was collecting the info I'd need (and found out the Workbook was right on target!), I did not retain her right away -- nor did my husband seek legal advice.

4 months after "the news," my husband was killed in a freak accident.

Because I'd "done my homework" with the assistance of the Organizer & Planner, I had all the documents and papers necessary to handle the financial and legal affairs that accompany a death: Birth Certificates, Social Security Cards, and Drivers Licenses for BOTH of us, Marriage Certificate, Life Insurance policies, Financial accounts, Lists of assets and liabilities, etc., etc., etc. I was able to obtain benefits, complete probate, and process life insurance claims forthrightly because all the information was readily at hand.

Ms. Sember's book is really a must have for everyone, those contemplating a divorce or not. I really should make it a point to write her a letter and let her know how very helpful she was at a very difficult time in my life.

Dear Barbara... I'm dealing with a (possible) psychopath male, co-worker. A friend told me about your book and I read it in one evening! I've sent a letter to Oprah (I'll share at the end)... wanted you to know, yesterday I had courage to finally stand up to this co-worker; I'm shaking in my boots; can hardly breathe and am constantly warding off tears, but by golly I am NOT going to be treated like this any more. Being he's in a position of authority and I'm a widow; I was in fear of losing my job, based on what he could do; I am not taking it anymore and told him so last night. Here is what I sent to Oprah.. Dear Oprah: Please read "A Dance With the Devil" by Barbara Bentley. I just finished... it tells of her marriage to a psychopath. I've heard the expression; never knew I had several in my life, including one now. Oddly enough the first was my (now) ex-son-in-law. The one now is a fellow here at work that I work close with; however he is not my direct. I'm not having a relationship with him. He just needs to have someone to mess with and he's chosen me. Like the dog he kicks, then pets? The reason this is important to me? This woman, Barbara Bentley, almost lost her life. This behavior is more prevalent than people realize. Because I live in Pollyanna's village [sic] I have always believed when bad things happen in friendships/relationships... it must have been something I could have prevented... reading the book, I realize I am a true target to this type of person. Nolo Press continues the tradition of providing step by step guidance through complex legal processes. Step by step demystification of the process.


Even if you are going to use an attorney this is a good read and you will save many times the cost of the book in having answered your own questions and by receiving a good introduction to the subject.

In order to help my parents with their trust, I had checked out about a dozen books on the subject from the library. I found Denis Clifford's to be the easiest to follow and easiest to read on a fairly complex subject. I found the book (and his "Plan Your Estate" book) so informative I bought a set for myself.

This book offers lots of "real life" examples of different types of financial scenarios and the best options for setting up a trust that will protect the assets from excessive legal fees and/or estate taxes. It covers almost everything you need to know to either write your own trust or carefully check the details of your trust if prepared by a lawyer.

The CD included provides you with the language you need to write your own by filling in the blanks, as well as the step-by-step procedure to cover all the bases to be certain the trust meets all the legal & tax requirements for trusts.

This book is also apparently updated each year, as the tax and estate laws are frequently being revised. I highly recommend this book, and also highly recommend as a companion book that covers other aspects of financial planning, wills, etc., Dennis Clifford's Plan Your Estate.

I was so impressed I also bought copies of both books for my parents and my sister so we could all get our finances in order.

Several chapters, such as the one on the spine, lower extremities, skin, and pulmonary system are, indeed, quite well-written and fairly easy to follow.

The chapter on upper extremities, however, is simply in deplorable shape.

Moreover, the AMA guides did not do a good job of explaining when it is appropriate to use a certain method and when it is not. in many cases, the evaluator is not sure which method to use, even after a careful reading of the guides.

The overarching philosophy of the Guides is not explained as well as it should be.

All in all, however, a vast improvement over the much more difficult to use fourth edition.

needless to say, a physician using this book needs both an instructor and an appropriate patient population to refine his/her skills as a disability evaluator.

This book was very useful to me. I am a health information management student planning to enter a graduate health administration program. I took the class and this particular book was the text. Our instructor is a lawyer and runs risk management at our university hospital. The text further explained basic legal priciples and related them to health care. The text is easy to read and gives several references to actual documents.

Pozgar's book is organized by legal topic and cites relevant case law in all instances. It is an excellent overview of American law as it applies to the health care practitioner or organization. He has taken a topic that it difficult to communicate and made it very enjoyable reading. Students will find it much easier reading than most graduate level texts.

I am using this book in my Maters program. So far it seems easy to understand and use. This is one book that I will keep and be able to use in my office. It is a good all around book for administrators as well as first time supervisors.
