There's nothing fantastic about this book 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

In a word, boring..
It follows the story of a man, who is cursed to be a love slave forever...ends up with a woman in present day, who sees him for more than his love slave talents...
It's a romance, yes...it's a mediocre romance. The story wasn't deep/strong/good enough...and neither were the characters. It's a very very very very light read..if you're looking for that.
I'd recommend Kresley Cole, or Elizabeth Vaughan..if you want something that's more stimulating..

Editorial Review:

Dear Reader,

Being trapped in a bedroom with a woman is a grand thing. Being trapped in hundreds of bedrooms over two thousand years isn't. And being cursed into a book as a love-slave for eternity can ruin even a Spartan warrior's day.

As a love-slave, I know everything about women. How to touch them, how to savor them, and most of all, how to pleasure them. But when I was summoned to fulfill Grace Alexander's sexual fantasies, I found the first woman in history who saw me as a man with a tormented past. She alone bothered to take me out of the bedroom and onto the world. She taught me to love again.

But I was not born to love. I was cursed to walk eternity alone. As a general, I had long ago accepted my sentence. Yet now I have found Grace--the one thing my wounded heart cannot survive without. Sure, love can heal all wounds, but can it break a two-thousand-year-old curse?

My fantastic fantasies 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This book really gave me the hots. Absolute desperation drives Anna into a six week session of red hot sex. I'm sure we all live this fantasy of taking multiple lovers and especially such well endowed specimens as these. Its a brilliantly written book and the characters and the sex sessions are so steamily real I feel everything Anna feels. Well deserves five stars. Another book that is going places is Dangerous Secrets (Avon Red) and for the short erotic short story enthusiast 100 Percent Erotica both excellent.

Editorial Review:

Desperate straights call for desperate measures---If anyone had asked Anna before what she would be willing to do for money, what she'd just signed up for would NOT have been on the list. She's discovered, though, that the needy can't afford to be too picky. And, after all, what's six weeks in the scheme of things? Despite her internal pep talk, though, she discovers she isn't at all prepared for what she has to face in the mansion of ill repute-where 'no' is no longer a part of her vocabulary unless she wants to forfeit the money she needs so badly. Rating: Contains explicit sex, graphic language, and some scenes of sex with mulitple partners/ménage a trois.

I did not like this book. I kept reading hoping something would catch my interest. James Patterson is one of my favorite authors and does not need a co-author. He does much better alone.

City of Angels meets Drop Dead Fred 3 out of 5 stars.

The good about the book:

1.) Interesting premise regarding imaginary friends.
2.) Quick read. 300 pages that probably should have been 150 in normal cirumstances.
3.)A lot of "aww" moments within the love story.

The BAD:

1.) Older imaginary friend has lover. Michael, knew Jane as a child for 5 years (from 4-9). Yet he falls head over heels in love with her after knowing her as an adult for 2 days? Isn't it once you know someone as a kid, they're always a kid to you? Everytime it's mentioned about him noticing her acting childlike "she had a child's curiosity.", it made me cringe.

2.) Stereotypical characters. Jane's Mom is overbearing and super critical. Michael is the perfect man, stereotypically, think of what the perfect man is to a woman (good listener, sensitive, loves kids, handsome, good in bed, loves your flaws). Perfect is boring, Michael is boring. He has no weight as a character whatsoever. Jane, is miserable without a good man in her life to show her how to live and run her life. Ugh.

3.) Never explained imaginary friend position. Michael is an imaginary friend but he lives and interacts as any other person, BUT he can be invisible when he wants to, snaps to get money. Huh? When Jane asks him he says "I don't know." I don't know either.

All in all, it's ok.

Editorial Review:

As a little girl, Jane has no one. Her mother, the powerful head of a Broadway theater company, has no time for her. She does have one friend-a handsome, comforting, funny man named Michael-but only she can see him.

Years later, Jane is in her thirties and just as alone as ever. Then she meets Michael again-as handsome, smart and perfect as she remembers him to be. But not even Michael knows the reason they've really been reunited.

SUNDAYS AT TIFFANY'S is a love story with an irresistible twist, a novel about the child inside all of us-and the boundary-crossing power of love.

Editorial Review:

Ancient church rituals meet cutting- edge crime solving in the latest novel in the #1 New York Times–bestselling series that’s “Law & Order: SVU—in the future” (Entertainment Weekly).

In the year 2060, sophisticated investigative tools can help catch a killer. But there are some questions even the most advanced technologies cannot answer.

Ridley Pearson has praised J. D. Robb’s suspense as “taut” and “nerve-jangling.” Her latest thriller sets a new standard for suspense, as the priest at a Catholic funeral mass brings the chalice to his lips—and falls over dead.

When Detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas confirms that the consecrated wine contained potassium cyanide, she’s determined to solve the murder of Father Miguel Flores, despite her discomfort with her surroundings. It’s not the bodegas and pawnshops of East Harlem that bother her, though the neighborhood is a long way from the stone mansion she shares with her billionaire husband, Roarke. It’s all that holiness flying around at St. Christobal’s that makes her uneasy.

A search of the victim’s sparsely furnished room reveals little— except for a carefully hidden religious medal with a mysterious inscription, and a couple of underlined Bible passages. The autopsy reveals more: faint scars of knife wounds, a removed tattoo—and evidence of plastic surgery, suggesting that “Father Flores” may not have been the man his parishioners had thought. Now, as Eve pieces together clues that hint at gang connections and a deeply personal act of revenge, she believes she’s making progress on the case. Until a second murder—in front of an even larger crowd of worshippers—knocks the whole investigation sideways. And Eve is left to figure out who committed these unholy acts—and why.

Very good ending for the series (no spoilers) 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Over the span of the "Bakery" sisters series, this one takes the reader forward in the story and really provides definition to the characters. The first two books happen back to back, while this is 5 years beyond, with flash back to the time when Nicole and Jeese pulled apart. Pros: well written, and fully discussed issues of regret, fear of rejection, and redemption. Cons: Repedative if you read the series back to back. Also, in the first 2 books, there was little credit given to the relationship of Matt and Jesse. It took me a while to come around and see it fully. It seems the relationship was not very long. That is an issue I have with this series...the timelines don't always match up. But overall a very satisfying end to the series.

Editorial Review:

Jesse Keyes has done some serious growing up. With a steady job and a vibrant four-year-old son, Gabe, she's in a far better place than when she left Seattle five years ago…pregnant and misunderstood by almost everyone in her life.

Now it's time to go home and face her demons. But her sisters, Claire and Nicole, aren't exactly impressed with the new and improved Jesse. And then there's Matt, Gabe's father, who makes it clear that he never wants to see her again despite the lust that still smolders between them.

Jesse doesn't know if she can make up for all the mistakes of her past. But the promise of sweet nights with Matt might just give her the extra incentive she needs to make it worth the trouble.…

I am really happy that i enjoyed this book. Reyes and Danika were just so sweet. When i read and reviewed the 2nd book i think Gena made a big mistake with the character of Anya. But i love gena's work and i have really enjoyed her new series. Book 3 is a sweet romance!

Very good book. 4 out of 5 stars.

Interesting read 3 out of 5 stars.

Maddox is fused with the spirit of Violence. We learn early in the story that Maddox's only sexual experiences are Paris's(The Demon with the spirit of Promiscuity) leftovers. Moddox is described as a handsome, well built guy--but the very spirit of Violence makes no woman who isn't under a spell of lust to truly crave him. Ashlyn is attracted to Maddox because he quiets the voices she has always heard in her head. She doesn't see the violence in his behavior--or is it she accepts it, and doesn't fear it. By the same token, Ashlyn pacifies the demon inside of Maddock

The premise for this series is interesting, the action lends interest to the plot--and the sex is pretty hot.

Editorial Review:

All her life, Ashlyn Darrow has been tormented by voices from the past. To end the nightmare, she has come to Budapest seeking help from men rumored to have supernatural abilities, not knowing she'll be swept into the arms of Maddox, their most dangerous member—a man trapped in a hell of his own.

Neither can resist the instant hunger that calms their torments…and ignites an irresistible passion. But every heated touch and burning kiss will edge them closer to destruction—and a soul-shattering test of love….

B+ 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

What saves Giffin's novel from chick lit obscurity is its in-depth characterization of two women in love with the same man. One would not expect to root for an adulteress, but the characters are written in such a way that it is impossible not to. In this novel, it is the little things that make a big difference. Giffin builds up enough back story that reads like your own life, while slowly building a crescendo of reality so near to our own lives, that it feels like you have written the book yourself. It prepares you for a devastating ending, one that would match the real-life narration of the story. Unfortunately, this is where the book takes a down turn. The last thirty pages read like something from a cheap dollar-store romance, full of predictability and plot wrapping that is clean cut and perfect. You feel as if the protagonist and her lover (who himself is created into an unrealistic, living Adonis) are given a Get Out of Jail free card. It is quite disappointing to be so fond of a female character, when, in fact, she turns out to be another manufactured piece of pulp from the chick lit industry in the end.

Editorial Review:

Something Borrowed tells the story of Rachel, a young attorney living and working in Manhattan. Rachel has always been the consummate good girl---until her thirtieth birthday, when her best friend, Darcy, throws her a party. That night, after too many drinks, Rachel ends up in bed with Darcy's fiancé. Although she wakes up determined to put the one-night fling behind her, Rachel is horrified to discover that she has genuine feelings for the one guy she should run from. As the September wedding date nears, Rachel knows she has to make a choice. In doing so, she discovers that the lines between right and wrong can be blurry, endings aren't always neat, and sometimes you have to risk all to win true happiness. Something Borrowed is a phenomenal debut novel that will have you laughing, crying, and calling your best friend.
