Love it! 5 out of 5 stars.

I love this story, so I had to get this set for my 6 month old baby. He loves the little stuffed caterpillar that comes with it, and he reaches for the book. Everyone knows this story, and putting it in a board book for little ones just makes it even better!

one of my favorite books as a kid that i am passing down to my friends new baby. i LOVE the little toy! it is tiny...(maybe 5" long?)..but it is perfect for the occasion. thank you!

I love this book! 4 out of 5 stars.

My only qualm is that the book should be a bit bigger so the caterpillar toy can actually eat his way through all the foods... never mind, my two year old adores it anyway.

My babies favorite 5 out of 5 stars.

I heard on the radio that this book is the #1 best selling fiction book (including adult books) of all time. I remember reading it as a kid and now I read it to my son who is eight months. We began reading it at five months and he loves it! I take his hand and run it accross the little holes. I bought the toy seperatlly and he loves that too...

Editorial Review:

Now packaged as a board book with a new plush doll, this classic book will continue to introduce new generations of children to the magical world of Eric Carle.

Kumon does it again. 5 out of 5 stars.
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

I've bought several Kumon books for my 3 yo daughter, this being the lastest. The layout is wonderful. It groups letters together by shape and pattern instead of order, moving from simple to complex. It offers many variations of the same skills and keeps my daughter's interest. I've never ask her if she wants to work in the book, she picks it up periodically and works in it as long as she wants. She effortlessly learned how to write L, H, T, I, E and F.

Great introduction to writing uppercase letters! 5 out of 5 stars.

I really like the straight forward and fun approach this book uses to help the student learn to write uppercase letters. This allows learning to write to be fun instead of boring. A + book.

Preschool Writing 5 out of 5 stars.

My daughter is 4, and just started preschool. She loves the workbook. It teaches her to make different lines before she started the letters, which helped her make them correctly. Great for beginners.

Daughter Loves it 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This book was great for starting my daughter out with writing skills. My wife and I blindly assumed that we should start with the letters in her name (R) but the book has the kids starting out with straight lines (T, H, E, etc...). That makes a lot more sense. My daughter looks forward to working on her letters.

One watchout: I was told that most parents teach their kids to spell there names in all caps. However, I'm told this is very hard for teachers to correct once the kids start school.

Only reservation that I have about the book is that I'm guessing I will to need to buy several of them since the pages are single use.

Love the Work Stations 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I am a first year teacher learning the ropes. I am finding the work stations very easy to implement and am enjoying the "freedom" to achieve reading level testing at week three of the school year and am looking forward to guided reading group time soon.

Amazing 5 out of 5 stars.

I would recommend Debbie's book to all K-2 teachers! I spent TONS of time making and preparing "centers" during my 1st year of teaching and my students struggled with them. I read Debbie's book and set up my work stations according to her models - not only is it my students' favorite time of the day, but it's mine too! I also spend very little time preparing for work stations as the book explains how to use tasks that are taught during your everyday lessons (this way they easily align with the curriculum)!

I LOVE this book and just can't say enough about it! It has a permanent place on my desk!

LOVE IT 5 out of 5 stars.

I actually have two copies of this book. I had misplaced my first copy and had to have another one. I use these ideas throughout my kindergarten classroom. It would be even better for first and second grade classrooms. I use the "I Can" lists and management board ideas. This book really helps make centers work. I plan on giving one as a gift any time I have a student teacher. If you can only buy one book, this is the one to buy!

Editorial Review:

Crunch crunch crunch. Teeth are strong and sharp. Crunch crunch crunch. Teeth can help you chew. But teeth are not for biting. Ouch! Biting hurts. Sooner or later, almost all young children will bite someone a friend, a parent, a sibling. This upbeat, colorful, virtually indestructible book helps prevent biting and teaches positive alternatives. The companion to our best-selling Hands Are Not for Hitting Board Book, Teeth Are Not for Biting gives reasons why children might want to bite. Little mouths feel sore when new teeth come in; sometimes kids bite when theyre hungry, tired, cranky, frustrated, angry, bored, distressed, or seeking attention. Author Elizabeth Verdick suggests positive things children can do instead of biting: chew a chewy toy, drink a cold drink, get a hug, tell a grown-up. This book also includes helpful tips for parents and caregivers.24 page illustrated 7 x 7 inch, full-color board book.

Wow 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I know this already has great reviews, but I just had to write what an amazing job this book has done for my 5 year old son. I just gave him one page a day to cut, and I can't believe the improvement in his cutting. Even better, I never corrected him, just said what a great job he was doing (this is what the book says to do). I was skeptical that this approach would work, but it has!! Best money I ever spent on a workbook.

Kumon workbooks are awesome for your preschool child 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I really am quiet pleased with this book, I know how hard cutting can be and to help my daughter. My daughter loves this book and the others we have and actually wants to do the work book or to go and do "homework" as she calls it.

The book starts out with very basic cuts and then as the pages progress the cut work gets more challenging. The artwork is cute and I can say that this book has helped my daughter cut with confidence and her cutting has gotten much better. She's only been in pre-kindergarten for 2 weeks and my daughter's teacher says it shows that we've been practicing cutting.

The other Kumon books we have and like are: Lower Case Letters and folding which is also another really neat task for your child to get good at and also has some really cool photos and pictures.
My only complaint is that I wish the pages where perforated for easily removal.

A good resource! 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

This book is a great resource to help design an effective layout for a classroom. It takes all of the elements of the classroom into account: whole group, word study, readers' workshop areas and more! I also liked the spiral binding because it provided easy access to the desired page. I would recommend it for any elementary ed teacher.

Good book 5 out of 5 stars.

really well done 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I bought four Kumon workbooks for my 5 year old. This will be our first year homeschooling and I am totally thrilled. With all of the workbooks there are about sixteen full color pages and after that they are printed in two-color. They are all very well organized, incremental and simply laid out. The illustrations are great - they make the pages interesting but they don't get in the way of the work. Some children might not like how similar every page is to the next, however for my child this will be absolutely perfect! She likes being confident in what she is supposed to do and enjoys doing the same (or similar) thing over and over.
The one thing about this particular book that I don't like is that I don't think it has quite enough review work. It goes like this: two pages of a new letter for three letters, then two pages of review for those three letters. The ten pages of a-z review at the end. I think I'll photocopy the review pages to have her do over.
I love the book and am confident that it will work really well.

huge book, worthwhile and seems complete 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This is a huge book, worthwhile and seems complete. I also have the Your MBA Game Plan: Proven Strategies for Getting into the Top Business Schools, and this book is ten times the size. I have yet to read the whole thing and probably will never; however it is easy to find the data I need for my search. I also like the discussions about why and where to go, not just the how like in other books.

This book helped me get into a top school! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I used the previous edition of the book in 2006 (green cover) and it helped me get into a top 5 business school. In fact I got into both the top 5 schools that I had applied to.

My advice to applicants is to pay special attention to essays and recommendation letters. If the writers are too busy, write one up for them (call it a template) and let them edit it. That way you can get them to say what you want them to say more or less.

Spend a LOT of time on the essays, they can make or break you more than the GMAT. Read them over and over again, read them aloud, have someone read them to you and have them reviewed by someone who got into the school you want to get into. The sample essays in the book were great to know what kind of information the admissions committee would look for. I took as much as 30 days of every day work to get my essays in the form that I was happy with.

Montauk's book guides you through this process and that was the only book I used.

Editorial Review:

Now updated and revised.

Now with new and expanded information on Executive MBA programs, the most up-to-date school rankings, new interviews with admissions officers, and more detailed advice for younger applicants, Montauk offers an up-close and candid view of what leading MBA programs look for in an applicant.
