After severe lightning causes a terrifying cattle stampede that almost kills Wyatt Yarbro, he undergoes an unexpected change of heart about his cattle rustling career. Doubts he has aplenty but he knows his days are numbered if he continues this nomadic, criminal life. Returning to Stone Creek, where his brother is the town's Sheriff, he experiences just how much change will challenge him. Within a day of his arrival, he meets Miss Sarah Tamlin and is deputized by his brother who's out to round up Wyatt's former nefarious friends.

Sarah is just as shocked by Wyatt's effect on her emotions, but she also knows that she can't be part of his life because of her own secret which may be revealed sooner rather than later. For her ex-lover, Charles Elliott Langstreet, shows up with a young boy and threatens to take over the bank business she and her father have struggled to maintain through some staggering debt and hard times. Now that her father is showing signs of dementia, the burden is hers alone. Anxious about the future, she shows her gritty personality in her decision to do everything possible to keep Charles out of the picture.

Little does Wyatt imagine just how involved he's about to become with Sarah, especially after he helps thwart a bank robbery and participates in a shoot-out leading to three deaths.

Sarah, however, isn't so worried about her own skin that she can't be there for others in need. What will she do with Owen Langstreet, the young boy who is left with Sarah for several weeks? What can she do for a young woman, Kitty, turned whore whose daughter is about to come to Stone Creek as a teacher?

The Rustler is a captivating Western, romantic tale that contains more than enough romance and intrigue to grip the reader's interest in this page-turning, gritty but oh so loving story! It's a delightful story that makes the reader feel he or she were just as comfortable and tensely involved with the Stone Creek residents' lives. There's plenty more to enjoy about this dangerous, passionate account written by a very talented author!

Reverend Brad Swanson has attended his fair share of weddings since becoming a preacher. He's even officiated and married a few couples as well. That aside, being forced at gunpoint to marry Evie Washington does not sit well with him and he finds himself almost with hurt feelings that his friends Asa, Clint, and Cougar would turn on him like they have done. Brad never imagined being held at gunpoint would involve becoming a husband. He has done his fair share of bad and wicked deeds before his `salvation', but in Evie Washington's supposed seduction he is innocent. No one is listening to Rev so he does what he has to do in the name of respectability. The fact that Evie Washington's independence intrigues him helps, and he is looking forward to the wedding night. After all, everyone thinks that he ruined her, so why not make it official?

Evie Washington loves her independence and has always known that marriage is not for her. Her freedom is cut short, however, when Evie paints a picture of a naked man with identifying marks that prove to the town that Rev ruined and seduced her. Well, there is the fact that Evie admitted that the painting was modeled after Reverend Swanson. Forced to marry the man wasn't the reaction Evie wanted but it is the reaction she got. When the wedding is over and day falls to night, Evie finds herself succumbing to Brad's seductive charms. Fighting her feelings, Evie sets out to prove that while they might be a couple in bed, she is not about to give up an ounce of her freedom.

No matter the circumstances leading to their marriage, Evie and Brad strive to make it work. Secrets harbored by each threaten the tenuous harmony they have established. Brad knows that the secrets from his past could mean the death of his marriage as well as the death of him. Trust is hard to earn with Brad but he wants to trust Evie more than anything. After all, he loves her.

Anticipating PROMISES REVEAL like no other, I tried to imagine the Rev's story. From the time he was first introduced I knew that underneath his supposedly polished veneer there was a risqué and highly sensual man. I like how his attributes were displayed for the town to see, but I found it highly entertaining that the town only saw what they wanted to see. They wanted to see a man of God and so they did. They didn't see the naughty glint in Brad's eyes. They didn't see the raw sensuality he displayed when Evie came around. I saw it and it was heady enough to make me blush.

PROMISES REVEAL promises to be a must read. While I recommend reading Ms. McCarty's previous Promises releases, I am happy to report that PROMISES REVEAL is a complete stand alone and can be fully enjoyed no matter what. Sarah McCarty delivers with this enticing and erotic book, and as a reader, I am satisfied. Of course, with satisfaction comes greediness, and while I just finished PROMISES REVEAL I am already craving more! ***Natasha Smith for Romance Junkies***

I love Macomber's stories about real people with individual attitudes and personalities--people we would like as friends. She never disappoints with her themes of friendship, hope, personal growth, and always happy endings. Thankfully, her stories and characters are so engrossing she has no need to "spice up" her books with unwelcome intimate details. I recommend this book along with a non-fiction one -- THE 3:00 PM SECRET: Live Slim and Strong, Live Your Dreams, which has motivated me to get in shape and reclaim my life so I can be like one of Debbie's heroines.

I have not found a Debbie Macomber book that I didn't like yet. She writes about old town living and the close friendship that those towns have to offer, each book is full of characters who bring help and change into each other lives. SHE writes with such ease, it is a pleasure reading them!

I purchased this book largely on the overall strength of the current reviews. I wasn't disappointed! I thought Channing perhaps fell into Colby and Co.'s bed a tad too easily (e.g. the initial "test")but didn't feel it strained anything but the very outside edge of believability. Please note there is some m/m action (in addition to m/f/m)but although it's not generally my thing, I thought it was well written and hot. All-in-all, a pleasing and erotic summer-read!

First off, I loved this book. I couldn't put it down and it completely grabbed me. I have to compliment the author on this one because it seems like she did a decent amount of research before writing this. Coming from rodeo background I CANT STAND western books that are ridiculously inaccurate portrayals of cowboys, cowgirls, rodeo, or the western way of life. The majority of the real western references were correct and kept me in the story instead of annoying me because of the authors lack of dedication to story line. I couldn't get myself to give her 5 stars for one good reason...the darn cover! If you are going to bother doing your research and being accurate on your small (but important!) rodeo/western details, DON'T FORGET YOUR COVER! I almost didn't buy this book because of the ridiculous cover! No real cowboy on earth wears that outfit to a rodeo. Just a hint, the vest are supposed to be for protections not thin cotton fashion vests! Also, she made the main female character look as unclassy as the rest of the nasty buckle bunnies she puts her so highly above....it just doesn't fit. All in all, don't let the inaccurate cover keep you from buying this book. Her cowboy/rodeo/western references are good and this is a hot book! Just my thoughts!

This is one of those classic novels that you could read again and again. I hadn't read it since high school twenty years ago and just re-read Christy last week. I like it even better now than I did then (and I loved it then, too). I would have loved to have had Catherine Marshall's version of a sequel (hopefully it would have consisted of a continuation of Neil & Christy's romance), but I guess we get to imagine the "happily ever after" instead. It's a great read!

These two stories were entertaining but they were the same old Diana Palmer. Both had the tough men who smoked and believed something bad about the heroine. The girl was always a vigin, shy and religious. Can't we any types of characters in her books? I can not even remember any of the plot of these stories. If you are thinking of buying these don't!!

It probably isn't fair to review a book that you havent read yet, but I can tell you that I buy anything that Diana Palmer writes and am happy with them. I am the PROUD owner of a Kindle reader and I just bought this book for my reader. Good reading. CeeCee
