Editorial Review:

Cole Clayborne has been tricked into accepting a badge and the title of U.S. Marshal by Sheriff Marshall Ryan. He would refuse the badge if he could, but the Blackwater Gang is up to no good and Cole feels compelled to help. Sheriff Ryan has been chasing the gang for two years--ever since they murdered his wife and daughter during a bank robbery--and he needs Cole to help him solve the case. When the Rockford Falls bank is robbed, only one witness is left alive. Terrified by the ordeal, the lone survivor won't come forward to testify; Cole and Daniels's only clue to her identity is a list that includes the names of three women who conducted business at the bank that afternoon. Is the eyewitness the beautiful, aristocratic Rebecca James or the exquisitely lovely Grace Winthrop? Could it be the seductive Jessica Summers? Somehow, Cole and Daniel have to keep the three women safe while solving the bank robberies and tracking down the killers. But the biggest danger of all may be the threat of losing their hearts to one of the beautiful women.

You absolutely MUST READ this book!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

This was my first Linda Lael Miller book, and all I can say is it won't be my last! I picked up this book in a bookstore while looking for a good contemporary western romance. I had definitely heard of this author and thought I would give her a try. WOW! I read this book in one day and can't wait to read the two follow-up books.
Linda Lael Miller has a wonderful way of creating believable, likeable characters that are not completely perfect. Isn't that what people are really like?? The two lead characters of Jesse McKettrick and Cheyenne have a sexual chemistry that is absolutely palpable from chapter one until the end of the book. This is a couple that you will really love and want to see together. There are only two love scenes in this book, but they are Hot! This book is very strong on plot-line and character development. I can't say enough great things about this book! Read it!!!

Editorial Review:

Like his celebrated ancestors who tamed the wilds of Arizona, Jesse McKettrick's Indian Rock ties run deep. The Triple M Ranch is in his blood, along with the thrill of risk. But with his land at stake, Jesse won't get involved in Cheyenne Bridges's scheme-- despite the temptation she brings.

Cheyenne grew up in Indian Rock and left its painful memories behind to become a self-made woman. Now her job is to convince Jesse to sell his property. Jesse's not the kind of man Cheyenne could ever forget, but he's too wild and dangerous for a woman committed to playing it safe. Yet sparks of attraction fly, tempting Cheyenne to lay it all on the line for the passion she sees in Jesse's eyes.

Editorial Review:

In this trade paperback flip book, Linda Lael Miller tells two complete stories, bringing together twin brothers who are separated at birth when their parents die on a wagon train headed for California. In The Lawman, Shay McQuillan, town marshal, teams up with his newly discovered twin, Tristan Saint-Laurent, to track down the elusive stagecoach robbers who stole Tristan's money and murdered Shay's fiancée. Shay is drawn to pretty Aislinn Lethaby, a newcomer to town with limited resources and a generous heart, whose desire to save Shay from danger provokes his exasperation and wins his love. In The Gunslinger, Tristan, a former bounty hunter recently turned cattle rancher, tangles with spirited Emily Starbuck, whose herd of sheep has the locals up in arms, while her innocent sensuality makes Tristan dream of settling down. Miller has a winning way with rascally Western characters and conveys the romantic relationships with down home sweetness. Readers will enjoy the competitive camaraderie between Shay and Tristan, who delight in confounding town folk--by posing as each other! --Ellen Edwards

Wonderful story full of confiderate history 4 out of 5 stars.

I love Linda Howard. This book had the alpha guy a bit rougher than her usual guys in her other books, but I still enjoyed it. I like that the story had a bit of civil war history and such details as how everyone who knew how to use a gun, seem to know locations of veins, organs, etc.

Editorial Review:

Annie Parker came to Silver Mesa, Arizona, because it was the only place she'd found where folks thought a woman doctor was better than no doctor at all. Her lonely life became harder still on the winter night Rafe McCay broke into her office with a bullet in his side and a bounty hunter at his back. With a gun aimed at her heart, he led her deep into the Arizona mountains, and into a world of danger and passion, for Annie discovered in Rafe not only a wounded man, but a soul betrayed...and Rafe, healed by her skill and the magic in her hands, awakened in Annie a woman's tender longing and hungry desire. Pursued by dangerous secrets of the past, they are swept into a thrilling odyssey of the heart -- a bold, exhilarating journey that rekindles Rafe's lost hope and transforms Annie's healing gift into a deep, enduring love.

Couldn't Put It Down! 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I enjoyed the first book, Springwater, so much that I rushed out and bought this next book in the series. I was caught up in the town and wanted to learn more about the characters that I had fallen in love with. Springwater Seasons is a combination of four shorter stories that take you through a time period of five years in Springwater. Linda Lael Miller keeps you updated on everyone you fall in love with in the town and continually adds new and fun characters. The women introduced in the four novels are all wonderful and so independent! Springwater is a great town to be a part of...even if it is only as a reader.

Editorial Review:

Linda Lael Miller's national bestselling novels of frontier life overflow with the passion and warmth of Springwater, a tiny stagecoach stop that blossoms into a bustling Montana town.

Rachel

Springwater's first schoolteacher, she crosses paths with rough-hewn barkeep Trey Hargreaves -- who puts a slow burn on her proper Eastern ways.

Savannah

Behind her rouge and bangles, the dance-hall girl has a sure and steady heart. Can her kind, gentle love help Dr. Prescott Parrish heal his wounded spirit?

Miranda

An unwed mother in search of a place to call home, she finds her heart's desire in Springwater -- and in the arms of rancher Landry Kildare.

Jessica

The sparks fly when she comes to take charge of her late brother's bankrupt newspaper -- and finds herself in a heated love match with town mayor Gage Calloway.

FOUR SPLENDID SPRINGWATER NOVELS -- TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Loved it! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This is one of those classic novels that you could read again and again. I hadn't read it since high school twenty years ago and just re-read Christy last week. I like it even better now than I did then (and I loved it then, too). I would have loved to have had Catherine Marshall's version of a sequel (hopefully it would have consisted of a continuation of Neil & Christy's romance), but I guess we get to imagine the "happily ever after" instead. It's a great read!

Editorial Review:

When Christy Huddleston leaves a life of privilege and ease to teach in the impoverished Smokey Mountains, her faith is severely tested by her pupils, the love of two men, and the curious customs of the mountain people in her community. Yet she grows to love these people and the simple, fulfilling lifestyle to be found in the heart of God's country. First released in 1967, Christy is based on the life of author Catherine Marshall's mother and was the inspiration for the recent television series of the same name. Beautifully told, this is a charming, timeless tale of love and faith that will appeal to romance readers of all ages. --Maudeen Wachsmith

fabulous historical inspirational romance 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

For seven years Ginger Freeman, daughter of an outlaw, blames Dr. Grant Kelley for the death of her brother Clem. Now in 1850 her search for this miscreant has ended; she has found him on a wagon train heading west.

She joins the train with plans to kill Grant. Instead she is welcomed by everyone especially Miss Sadie and soon feels like she is part of a family for the first time in her life. Worse Ginger finds Grant to be a caring person trying to help others; nothing like the image she kept in her nightmares for these long seven years. As she finds God, friends and love (with Grant), Ginger feels torn in several directions when her Pa and his cohorts arrive.

The third Westward Hearts Americana inspirational romance (see DANGEROUS HEART and DEFIANT HEART) is a fabulous historical totally owned by Ginger although the rest of the cast is fully developed. Readers will feel they are on the wagon train as the closeness is both endearing and phobic; privacy is impossible. The transformation of Ginger is deftly done by Tracey Bateman to the delight of historical inspiration fans.

Editorial Review:

Growing up motherless with an outlaw father made Ginger Freeman hard and unforgiving—and for the past seven years she's been driven by a single goal: to make Grant Kelley pay for letting her brother die. Now that she's tracked the hated doctor to a westward-bound wagon train, her mission of vengeance is nearly completed. But the sense of family and community that suddenly surrounds her is unlike anything Ginger has ever experienced. And under the nurturing eye of Miss Sadie, the outlaw's daughter begins to lose her rough edges. Here, in the company of loving, newfound friends, Ginger feels herself becoming part of something much bigger than revenge.

But catastrophe is in the wind when her pa and his gang arrive to infiltrate the wagon train. Will Ginger's new relationship with God tear her away from her family forever . . . and cost her everything she's now begun to hold dear?

Another great Jodi Thomas book... 4 out of 5 stars.

First of all I want to start out by saying that the reviewer before me is inaccurate. Jodi Thomas wrote the Wife Lottery Series, which consisted of 3 books. The Texan's Wager, When A Texan Gambles & A Texan's Luck. This book is a spin off of that series. In those 3 books you met Ranger Jacob Dalton & Nell a.k.a. "Two Bits". This is their story. You never even see Bailee, Sarah or Lacy in this book. I don't think it's technically considered part of that series but anyone that read that series probably fell in love with the Ranger & Two Bits & will really enjoy reading their story.

Book description:

Years ago, Texas Ranger Jacob Dalton Bailed an orphan girl named Nell out of trouble more times than he could count. But now the kid he once called "Two Bits" has grown into a beautiful young woman-an id in more trouble than ever before.

Wounded in an ambush, Nell refuses to become a burden to her former guardian angel. Unfortunately, her injury has made it impossible for her to handle the ranches she as inherited, so she decides to get herself a husband. One thing's for sure: She isn't about to let Jacob bully her into saying "I do." When Jacob steps in line for her hand, Nell is forced to weigh her need for his help against a love too strong to allow him to sacrifice his future for her.

* I really enjoyed this book but it didn't quite measure up to other books that I've read from Jodi Thomas. It was good & I do recommend it but it's not something I'll be reading again. If you're a Jodi Thomas fan I'm sure you will enjoy this book.
