Excellent basic bookkeeping book. 5 out of 5 stars.
26 of 27 people found this review helpful.

This book was puchased to teach a teenager the basic principles of bookkeeping prior to learning a computerized bookkeeping system. I have been "keeping the books" for businesses for 30+ years and feel it is important to know what the computer is doing behind the scenes. This book will help you to understand that. Both the teenager and I are very pleased with the logical and simple to understand explanations of bookkeeping. We especially like the worksheets which accompany the lessons. These give the student a feeling of accomplishment and help to reinforce the lessons.

Editorial Review:

A streamlined introduction to record keeping, accounting, and more, Bookkeeping Made Simple takes the mystery out of financial jargon for small-business owners and students. Completely up to date, this comprehensive edition now covers the complete accounting cycle, making it easier than ever to master the math of commerce. Topics covered include:

* assets and equities
* individual accounts
* the journal
* adjustments to accounts
* preparing statements
* merchandising accounts
* control of cash
* petty cash
* payroll
* partnership
* closing the books

World Ventures, Dream Trips, Vacations 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This book was very thorough and easy to read. If you're looking for a dream vacation also check out, "World Ventures, Wayne Nugent".

Too much "renter" not enough "expenses" space...could be improved 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I bought this book along with "How to rent Vacation properties by Owner".....THAT book is great, but for me, I was hoping for a better organizer. My main disappointment is simply not enough pages for expenses, but like over 50 pages, (thats over 200 renters) for your renters. Perhaps that is OK for those who rent nightly or weekly, but for me, who rent my vacation home for one month minimum, and usually for 3 month at a time, this was off balance.
I have many expenses that I need to keep track of, utilities, mowing, cleaning,etc,etc......for me, I need WAY more then the 6 pages they give for expenses.....I would think any owner would. Pockets and tabs would have been nice, but the main thing is it needs WAY more pages for expenses.....6 pages is not enough.

Editorial Review:

A book to help organize all aspects of a vacation rental property. Keeps track of rentals, maintenance, and much more. This book helps readers manage their rental properties and keep track of important information all in one place. Specifically designed to meet the needs of vacation property owners, The Vacation Rental Organizer is convenient, easy to use, and best of all, portable — so vacation property management can go anywhere!
