Fun read, but take heed... 2 out of 5 stars.

I love the Rich Dad books because they're motivational as well as interesting, but there has to be a word or two of caution.

Concerning incorporating properties...this seems rather specious. You don't have to go to the trouble of incorporating each property to keep the fear of having personal assets taken through a liability claim; that's why you carry insurance, and a lot. A big policy is more than sufficient, and most courts will not allow lawsuits from taking your primary home.

Time being money, it's much faster and easier to sign a policy than to do the tedious and never-ending paperwork to incorporate a property. There may be rare circumstances when you would (a real estate lawyer is worth the consultation) but for 99.9999999% of the people in the world, No.

My purchase arrived very quickly, and was indicated to be a "Used" textbook, yet it appeared as "Brand New". I will definitely continue to purchase future textbooks through Amazon. I saved a lot more money this way than buying books from my college.

A Must Read for any new online bookseller 4 out of 5 stars.

I'm a newbie at selling books online with Amazon. I ordered 3 books (from Amazon - of course!) on how to sell on Amazon. By far, this book was the best one. It's a soup to nuts on "how to". I refer to this book
often as a guide. It is rich with resources that you can look up online.
I just found out that this author has written a similar book but specific to Amazon. I'm reading that one right now. I also appreciate the author's humble roots - starting out in a 1 bedroom apartment; 3 months later made enough to quit his job and do this full time and moved into a house. yet, the author quickly cautions people that this endeavor won't make you rich but can give you a chance to either make more money on the side or work from home if that is what you want.

Joel does a great job overall. I'd just like to see better illustrations, especially concerning pen construction and processing the birds. I highly recommend newbies take a look at Herrick Kimball's [...]. He does a great job illustrating how to process the birds, with great pictures. Also, the homemade plucker, which he designed, is great. It plucks 3 birds in about 10-15 seconds! Now that's good stuff! But I'd highly recommend Joel's book, in spite of the poor illustrations. Maybe he should have a talk with his publisher and put out a new edition. We just did our first 50 Cornish X Rocks, largely based on his methods and it went off without a hitch...well, I accidentally ran over a couple of birds with the pen as I moved it. So, those were a couple of "hitches", but some of the little buggers just didn't want to march to my well-sung Marine Corps marching songs! Imagine that! So, the little non-hackers went off to join Colonel Sanders in a better place. Maybe he can get them to march:)

I think this is an excellent book for any small business owner, or even for any one in business. I have my one-page plans displayed predominantly in my office where they help me focus. I enjoyed getting coached through the book, as the accountability and professional advice made it come alive for me. So, if you have a personal coach of your own, you may want to have them go through this book with you.

I found that each time I sat down to work with the book, I was easily drawn into the "zone" of creating and brainstorming, and came up with new ideas that will make a big difference in my business. It was so satisfying to be that productive at each session, and in the end, I spent only about 10-12 hours to come up with my One Page. I now feel clear about my goals for this year, and feel that they are doable and well organized. Not only did this book help me develop my plan through the exercises and examples, but now that I have completed it, I am excited about implementing my plan. I broke down the bullets in my Plans section into action steps on a separate page, and then used the provided worksheet templates to create budgeting and sales goals. Thanks to Jim Horan for offering such an inspiring and useful set of tools!

Ilegal to cater from home 1 out of 5 stars.

Although the concept of this book is appealing, it is ILLEGAL by health department standards to cater from any home kitchen UNLESS it is fully licensed and certified as a commercial kitchen. Hopefully, this author is not giving permission to folks to attempt to cook and deliver food from home kitchens, which is completely against health department rules.

I read a lot (and I mean a lot, as I have thousands of books in my library), but this is one of the very few business books I've been truly inspired and uplifted by. When I say "the only book you need to succeed in catering" it's not only a cliche, I believe it's really true! In her writing, the author strikes the fine balance between telling you the 'real deal' and hardships of starting your own business, while managing to keep you motivated and telling you about all the positive that can come out of your efforts as well. It is extremely detailed, honest, passionate, and credible. This has truly been a fantastic help to me while I'm planning to launch my own catering business next year. Brava!!!
