We recently got this book out of our public library and I must say that it is a big hit with all of us. We (my son, my husband, and I) absolutely love the pictures and the text. I think this is a wonderful book that will get lots of mileage.

The illustrations are absolutely fantastic! they are beyond vivid its truly a feast for the eyes!
The story is simple and cause the illustrations are so perfectly done for a toddler it's very self-explanatory, Bear is traveling through the entire story on different means of transportation he goes to an island on a boat, to the market on bike, to a grand ball in a carriage and through the story the little boy is trying to keep up with bear but he just keeps missing "the boat" so to say. It's a very fun rhyming journey to introduce to little ones! This is our favorite of Stella Blackstone's Bear series its by far her best book!

This is a GREAT book. I bought this for my kids as a fathers day present to their dad on fathers day this past year. My daughter is 2 and my son is one and they both LOVE this book. Almost everyday they ask one of us to read it to them. They love the book so much in fact, I'm jealous now, and am thinking of getting the I love my Mommy version. You wont regret buying this book. Its wonderful

I think this book is really beautiful. It's simple, but the story and illustrations are so sweet. I bought it for my new for my grand daughter. My daughter in law read it to her, and she just loved looking at the pictures. The price was very good for a hard cover book.

My toddler loves this book. It is always one of her first choices when we're reading. She heads right to the tickling page and tickles the baby bear. The book is very sweet and simple and I always make sure we read it when daddy is away on business. The only bad thing I would say is that it would be better as a board book, she has torn out a couple of pages but we love it so much that I'm going to buy it again and keep it on a higher shelf!

Of course, any Clifford fan will be happy with this book, especially those toddlers. The story is nice, the translation into Spanish is good, and if you want your toddler to learn Spanish, this is a good little book to have in your library. However, I didn't like the illustrations. The cover depicts Clifford as we are used to seeing him, but the illustrations inside are of poorer quality, and seem to be early editions of what the characters look like now. Anyway, the toddler may not even notice, but I did.

My little reader is a certified Dora lover and is very pleased with this book!
It is a well crafted colorful board book which is shaped like a Christmas tree with lift the flap features and shiny embellishments throughout.

Still Curious After All These Years 5 out of 5 stars.

My young daughter recently received a copy of Curious George for 3rd birthday, and we have been reading at least once a day ever since. Of course, George is a monkey, but he is also an allegory for all children everywhere. My daughter clearly sees herself in George (as do I!). At the page where George is playing with the telephone and accidentally calls the fire department, she said, "See Mommy, you told me not to do that." When George gets into trouble, this book conveys age-appropriate lessons about actions and consequences. Every child in the world gets into trouble every now and then, because of their innocence and curiosity. But mom and dad will always be there to help them out, and THAT is the message of this book.

This is another classic that I am thrilled to be passing on to my child. It is beautifully illustrated with bright colors and attractive drawings. We laugh with George, and discuss his consequences. She knows that it a story. My little monkey just loves Curious George, and I am certain that yours will, too.

All I can say is that I love this book. As a child my mother read me this book over and over. Its message is as inspiring to me now as it was then. I can't say enough how much I love this book. It's a wonderful addition to anyones collection, young and old. Brings me to tears when I read it and think back on my childhood. I don't think I could have gotten through some of those early years without it.

Really, I wish I would have bought the original. Strangely enough we had the original version borrowed from the library in the house when this book arrived. Even my 2 1/2 year old daughter prefers the original. It is so much better. The details are more vivid. The language more interesting. This version isn't bad; it just isn't AS good.

My two year old has fallen in love with Maisy. I searched on-line for a plush Maisy toy he could cuddle with. This was the only one I could find at the time, and it came with a book - bonus! It comes in a nice boxed package and the book was cute, but shorter than other Maisy books...about 4 pages. Also, the Maisy doll was much smaller than I had imagined, about the size of a "beanie baby" but stiff and not cuddly. It might be great for a child who collects Maisy items and wants to display the small doll, however, if they want to cuddle a soft Maisy friend, this is not the doll to do it.

My son just loves Maisy. This is the second gift set that includes a doll that I have purchased (the first being Maisy's Bedtime, with Maisy dressed in her pajamas). I read this book to my son every morning when he gets up and the Bedtime story every night when he gets into bed. He loves to hold the stuffed animals each time. They are about 4 inches tall each, but to him they are big! And most of the Maisy board books are the same size- a toddler-friendly shape that makes it easy for them to hold themselves. They are very sturdy and ours have taken quite a beating. Other than that, the books include the usual primary color illustrations. This book, however, includes all of Maisy's friends; some of the other books only feature her and Panda, which is kind of disappointing to my son, since he loves Charlie and Eddie!

Maisy likes doing things for the people she loves, and she has lots of love to give everybody - she loves her friend Charley, she loves Tallulah, Cyril and Eddie and, yes, she loves you too!

I purchased this book for my 14 month old granddaughter and a day does not go by that we do not read this book together! She comprehends but has decided not to use her language skills to date (she is now 16 months old) and therefore this book has become her tool to communicate about animals. She sees an animal in a magazine, another book or on television and will run to retrieve this book, thumbs through to the exact page where the animal is located, and literally uses it as a "show and tell" tool! The pictures are absolutely amazing! Hopefully she will speak soon but this book has reassured ME that she is no dummy! -

This was both our boys' favorite book from about 16 months to 3 years. While there are probably too many pictures on a page for younger babies, and I don't recommend reading every word every time through, it introduces a lot of great animals in interesting categories ("spiky", "armored", and "colorful").

Perfect to overcome your kids fear of the doctor! 5 out of 5 stars.

My little 2 1/2 year old always cried and screamed when he would go to the doctor. Before his next appointment, we got this book and it made a huge difference. Everytime the doctor would check him, he would say "like Corduroy Daddy?" I would say yes and he would let the doctor do what she needed to do. This book is very cute and works very well.

It makes me a little sad to see how far Corduroy has fallen from those first amazing books... The illustrations are generic and kind of cheesy, and the text is pretty thoughtless -- when Corduroy gets weighed his doctor notes that he has "...gained a lot of pounds; too many cookies Corduroy," with the little bear looking downcast as he stands mostly naked on the scale. Let's hope our pediatricians treat weight issues with a little more sensitivity. Still, I'm forced to give this book 3 stars for the reasons the other reviewers stated: it gives a decent overview of what to expect at the doctor's, from getting undressed to getting a shot.

An excellent book for preschoolers. I teach preschool and the book definitely captured the children's interest. After reading the book, we did an art project based on the book. The children painted a piece of paper brown, then added a pre-cut duck shape, and then surrounded the duck with green strips of construction paper to represent the grass. The children giggled as "the duck got stuck in the muck."

Bit long for the genre, but that means it lasts longer 4 out of 5 stars.

I've had this book since the five year old niece was a baby :)

It's one of those repetitive books so loved by toddlers, very calming. The one problem I have with it is that, for the format and age group, it's a little long.
