This has been the "must read" book at our house for six months straight. The three year old has not tired of it! Amazing. He knows every phrase and allows NO substitues. Perfect!

If you and your children have read The Gruffalo so many times that all of you can pretty much recite it, I would highly recommend getting this sequel. The Gruffalo was one of our top reads, and now that we have The Gruffalo's Child it's been a quick replacement. I think we enjoy it as much as the first book -- and the fact that we get a change of pace but with familiar characters is an added bonus. There's much to enjoy in the detailed illustrations as well. Both books are great!

This is the gorgeous sequel to Julia Donaldson's amazing and imaginative story, the Gruffalo. If you thought she couldn't top The Gruffalo - then think again. Again, this has been ably illustrated by the amazing Axel Scheffler - whose pictures of the Gruffalo cave and gruffalo toys had my kids in fits of laughter even before the story began.

Again the amazing rhyme and rhythm which Donaldson manages to put into her rhymes really manages to draw children into the story. They are amusing little observances throughout. I must admit, the first time I read this I assumed that the gruffalo child and the mouse, when they finally met, would make friends - but no - the Gruffalo child just wants to eat the mouse as well! And once again, the mouse is too cunning to let that happen.

Gorgeous book which I am sure your children will love as much as I do. We seem to have a stack of Julia Donaldson and Lauren Child books by our bed which are read over and over as bedtime storys.

Winter Fun For All 5 out of 5 stars.

The cutest dog in books teams up with The-Girl-in-Purple-Sneakers for a lot of snowy Winter fun.

Biscuit and company have a fun day in the snow. There are snowmen to build, snow angels and snow puppies to make. There is even sledding. Then the day ends cuddled in front of a warm fireplace with a mug of hot Cocoa.

Delightful illustrations are what really drive the Biscuit books and this one is no exception. Simple descriptions and the Woof, Woof of Biscuit show some of the fun that can be had in the snowy days of winter. The board book pages are very thick and sturdy.

My daughter loves these books. They are simple, quick & colorful. She turns the pages & loves it. She is under 1 yrs old & has been reading theses with me for about 6 mo. Stays focosed since it is so fast, not so wordy!

If your child loves Maisy, they will love this book! My 20 month old never tires of "looking" for Maisy under the flaps and will sit for 15-20 minutes at a time "reading" this. Even her older sister enjoys it!

My daughter is now 17 months old, ever since she started being interested in books (as early as 11 months) she has always loved this one. She gets more and more excited as we get closer to the end and she loves looking behind the door. I noticed all the little kids at the daycare also just stopped whatever they were doing when I read this book to them once. The best 'Peek-a-boo' type book we've seen.

This is one of our favorite books! My son loves seeing the dinosaurs and I really like reading it. It is the best opposites book I've seen, most are boring, but this one is really fun. He loves saying "bye bye" at the end to the dinosaurs too, it's just too cute!

All of Sandra Boynton's books are a hit at our house, but Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs! is the favorite. The catchy rhymes and funny pictures are a great way to introduce the concept of opposites, counting and colors to small children.

Gosh we love Sandra Boynton around here. Boy does she write great books.

This is a quick book of rhymes which *mostly* show opposites (dinosaur weak, dinosaur strong, dinosaurs singing a dinosaur song!) Very fast to read, and cute, engaging pictures for little ones.

This is my son's favorite book. I started reading it to him when he was about 3 months old and he still loves it at 9 months. (When his toddler friends visit, they read right along too.) The simple but bright graphics really hold his attention and he now loves to feel the different textures on each page. This was such a hit that we now own That's Not My...: Train, Tractor, Dinosaur, Puppy and Teddy Bear!

My nine-month old loves this book--he spends a lot of time just flipping through the pages and checking out the different textures. Very simple text is balanced by very sturdy, brightly colored pages. Slightly larger than most board books, too. It's a great deal for the price.

Board book is a terrific book for very young children. My three year old reads it to my nine month old! Graphics and colors are great; use of repeative verse is perfect for the very young, ie. "that's not my train it's ...A must have for a little one's library.

I sing the original Frosty the Snowman song with my preschool class every year, but it's always been difficult finding a book to go along with the song. Well, my worries are gone now as this book is done with the original words. I first spotted this book in a Scholastic book flyer and I tought it looked nice, but when I went to the bookstore and saw it on display it was stunning! The colors are vibrant and the pictures are absolutely beautiful, this is a must have for any early childhood classroom.

The illustrations in this book do not follow the text at all, so it can't hold my daughter's attention. She has lots of books, most of which she loves. This one is among the worst. The pictures are not even a bit interesting.

This book tells a terrific story with only three words: "hug," "mama," and "bobo!" (Bobo is the name of the chimp.) I've given this book numerous times as a gift because it is perfect for toddlers--wonderful drawings and a lovely story about a mom who returns to give her child a hug. My kids loved to "read" the book with me, saying "hug!" at each picture of animals hugging. And we never failed to give each other big hugs at the end of the story.

This is one book worth trying to keep around for our grandkids!

This book, along with the "Cats", "Dogs" & "Birds" books are great to read to your newborn. The books are short (like a baby's attention span) and sweet. My son is now 13 months and he still enjoys these books as they are small enough for him to hold in his hands and turn the pages.

This is a cute book that my daughter enjoyed while it lasted. Unfortunately, the book fell apart within the first 3 months of purchasing it. Little ones are hard on books, of course...but the book is meant for a child, so I feel that it should have been sturdier.

The size doesn't bother me, my baby likes that. But the pictures are pretty blah I thought, especially since everyone raved over them. I don't think there's many pictures in the book that would appeal to a baby - a black and white pencil drawing, a couple paintings. I was disappointed. The picture on the cover is probably the best one.

A Must Book for Every Child's Library 5 out of 5 stars.

This was my favorite book to read to my daughter when she was little. It was also just MY FAVORITE BOOK to look at. The illustrations are beautiful. The story has few words, so you are also able to use your imagination while looking at the pictures and thinking about the story.

I highly recommend adding this book to your collection - whether or not you have children or grandchlidren.

There are a number of books in the childrens' book market that qualify as modern day classics and Berger's "Grandfather Twilight" is definitely among them. From the stunning artwork, to the magnificent prose, to the magical message, this is a winner. Right up there with the best. Together with a soft blanket, the perfect gift for the new arrival.

Board book snoring sounds wouldn't work outside the store 3 out of 5 stars.

My daughter saw this book in the store and was infatuated with it. She like the illustrations and giggled at the snoring sounds every time she opened the book. I returned to the mall a few days later to do some Christmas shopping and included this book in my purchases. I checked to make sure it worked before I left the store -- no problems.
Later that evening, I showed the book to my husband. It wouldn't snore! I opened it a dozen or so times, but nothing happened. A few days later, I returned to the bookstore and explained the situation, asking to exchange it for another copy. When I opened the book - voila! There was the noise!
The clerk let me exchange it anyways, and we checked to make sure the new copy worked. When I got outside, I ran into some friends from church. During the course of the conversation, I showed them the book. I opened it, and it didn't make the noise. After repeated attempts, I went back into the mall, and back into the bookstore. It worked fine.
At that point, highly frustrated, I asked if I could just exchange the board book for the original book, "Russell the Sheep", and pay the difference.
It turns out that we like the unabridged version of the story better anyways. The original book, "Russell the Sheep" has beautiful illustrations, a bit sillier story, and is an overall better purchase. We will have to keep it put up when we're not using it, so that our 1 1/2 year old daughter doesn't tear the pages, but we are excited to read it to her every night! It is a book that parents and children alike will enjoy reading over and over again.
