Editorial Review:

"Yes I'm going to my potty!"

The Package Includes:

  • An adorable mini book edition of Once Upon a Potty - girl

  • The Potty Song A fun lively tune that celebrates potty training.

  • The Joshua & Prudence Theme A swinging jazz song featuring the characters of the Once Upon a Potty books.

  • A personal introduction for both parents and children from author Alona Frankel.

  • Read Along! A Full reading book with musical highlights.

  • Sing Along! A lyric sheet featuring the words to "The Potty Song" and "The Joshua & Prudence Theme."

    Dear Fellow-Parents,

Once Upon a Potty is best used as a companion volume to a child's new potty. I wrote this book when my own child was toilet training to help him better understand the process. My son was encouraged and excited by this story. It motivated him to make the developmental leap from diaper to potty.

Learning to use the potty is often a lengthy process, taxing the patience of both parent and child. When success finally comes--and it should come in its own good time, without undue pressure or haste--it enhances the child's confidence and pride. She has taken another step toward independence. She sat on the potty as a little child and got up feeling ten-feet tall.

It's one small step for mankind, but a giant one for your family.

    Love,
    Alona

Adorable Companion Book to Goodnight Moon 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

My favorite childhood book is Goodnight Moon, and just today I finally read its companion book, My World. I thought it was adorable and I am excited to get it for my son.

This book has a different rhythmic scheme than Goodnight Moon, but I feel that it is equally poetic and comforting. It is fun to see the little bunny in settings other than the "great green room" and with his parents in different rooms in their house.

Like in Goodnight Moon, Clement Hurd's illustrations alternate between color and black and white, which I think is a great touch.

Although not as classic as Goodnight Moon, this book is a wonderful one to share with your children.

    Editorial Review:

Two years after the debut of Goodnight Moon, Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd collaborated once again, creating this perfect companion to everyone's favorite bedtime story.

Now you can revisit that beloved world of a little bunny and his family. Together, gentle illustrations and poetic words capture the excitement of a young child exploring new boundaries, as the bunny greets all the familiar things in "Your world. My world."

From one of the most popular author-illustrator teams in children's literature, this is a timeless picture book in which good morning is as reassuring and enchanting as goodnight.

We checked this book out of the library and my 2.75 year oldloves it. The sentences are too complicated for him, but he likes thepictures and the detailed explanation of the firefighter's equipment on the last page.

Great for those that like fire engines 5 out of 5 stars.

My 2 1/2 year old son loved the book from the minute I brought it home from the library. No matter which other books I take out to read, he asks for this one instead. What attracted me was the illustrations have a "Richard Scarry" feel to them. So they are three gentle looking animals that are firefighters and save a dog in a fire. It's a fairly quick read, good for those nights where everyone is a little more tired than usual, and it rhymes. I'm here buying a copy now since the library book has to be returned in another week and I know I'll get the request for it. At the end, it has the back page where they explain in more detail different things a fire fighter uses like helmet, air mask, etc.

    Editorial Review:

"Big Bold fire engines, waiting day and night, Ready for a rescue or a blazing fire to fight. As soon as there's a fire alarm, the engines start to roar. The firefighters jump aboard..it rumbles out the door." Jump aboard a bright red fire engine with a trio of friendly animal firefighters as sirens wail, lights flash, firehoses squirt, and fires blaze -- in this story that blends action and rhyme with all the details kids want to know about one of their favorite machines. The mix of visual entertainment and lively wordplay ensures that young children will delight in the reading experience, as will the adults fortunate enough to read aloud these irresistable rhymes!

A timeless book about love, this book is for every reader. It should be read and reread by all children(that's all of us) and parents(no matter the age of your children). The book is great poetry, too. The illustration is bright and sunny. It will cheer you up and catch you up.

A Favorite for everyone! Great for families that "don't match" 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is not only charming, it is also illustrated with pictures of loving families which may not be biologically related to each other-- and not a word is said about it! As an adoptive famiily, we have lots of adoption-related picture books, but it is nice to just have a fun comforting book which shows that loving families come in all colors and they don't need to "match"!

This has been a favorite gift book for me--I give this book to all kinds of families with babies and toddlers and everyone loves it!

My almost 2 year old son loves this book and the CD! Perfect for little ones who are starting to exercise their sense of humor :)

One of my favorites 5 out of 5 stars.

As a child this was one of my favorites and now am excited that I have a little one of my own to sing it to. My husband is in the Army and actually calls me from work to tell me he cant get it out of his head. As for my daughter, she is 19 months and really likes looking at the book and dancing to us singing it. This is the same author as Baby Beluga which is just as much a favorite as this one.

Raffi Rocks 4 out of 5 stars.

My 8 mo old daughter ADORES this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This classic, catchy, silly rhyme is so fun for kids - my infant daughter has loved this book since she was about 2 months old. She always smiles and is excited when we 'read' it and it is an obvious favorite of hers. You can read it - but of course part of the fun is singing it! In reading another person's comment that they didn't read this book to their child because they did not like to sing...you do not have to be a good singer...I am not, but my daughter thinks it is great anyhow. It is an easy tone and song to sing, even for those of us who are vocally challenged ;) But you could easily just read it in a silly voice and have it be just as fun. Really great addition to our library.

    Editorial Review:

In this song, two children imagine their mothers asking, "Did you ever see a goose kissing a moose, a fly wearing a tie, or llamas eating their pajamas down by the bay?"

    A Classic Tail...er, Tale 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT, by Beatrix Potter, has enchanted both children and adults for generations. An exciting adventure book for the wee ones, THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT is the story of Peter, who is very naughty. Peter disobeys his mother, and goes to Mr. McGregor's garden, where he gets into all manner of trouble. While Peter does eventually make it home, he is wet, sick, and has lost his clothes (his second set of clothes in a fortnight!), and his mother gives him chamomile tea for supper. His sisters, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail, who are good little bunnies, get bread and milk and blackberries for supper.

THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT gently teaches children to mind their mothers - good little children are given rewards, naughty children get into trouble. This simple tale engages and captivates youngsters who can easily relate to Peter's mischievousness. And while that lesson and Ms. Potter's story are both timeless, it is Ms. Potter's charming illustrations that are the true star of this book. Peter is drawn to look like a real rabbit; a rabbit that wears a very dapper jacket and a little pair of shoes. The soft colors and rich detail of the original drawings continue to delight children throughout the ages.

My three year old adores hearing this story. Whenever we read it together, she loves to shout "Stop thief!" with Mr. McGregor and to sneeze "Kertyschoo!" with Peter. She clearly gets great fun and joy out of this classic tale, as do I. All of Beatrix Potter's tales are delightful to share; however, THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT holds a special place in our hearts.

    Editorial Review:

When Mrs. Rabbit begs her four furry children to stay away from Mr. McGregor's garden, the impish Peter Rabbit naturally takes this as an open invitation to create mischief. But when he is spotted by the farmer himself, the chase is on! A century after it was first published, Beatrix Potter's beloved tale of a certain naughty bunny with a taste for radishes continues to enchant readers. Using Potter's original text, popular illustrator Michael Hague has made Peter's world bigger and brighter than ever, bringing this cherished tale to a new generation of youngsters, in a larger format that will delight mischievous bunnies young and old.

remember this is the "old" version... 1 out of 5 stars.
4 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Having not seen the orginal Rudolph TV show in a very long time I forgot what the story line was... remember that in this version of the story the snowman eats reindeers and apparently elves or anything else that would be upsetting to a child. There are a couple of scary illustrations in this book. My 3 year old was in love with the Rudolph movie but once he saw this book he refused to ever have anything to do with Rudolph again because he said he "didn't like the scary snowman". Yes, I know it's a classic, but be warned.

Love this book! 5 out of 5 stars.

If you're looking for the story about Hermie, the Abdominal, Yukon Corneilius and the Island of Misfit Toys, this is NOT your book! This book is the original story written in 1939. It is written in poetry form and it is beautiful. It is very well illustrated and a definite keeper. My kids loved this book even though the local heroes weren't in it. I would buy it as a keepsake if nothing else. It's well worth the money.

    Editorial Review:

The original story of the most famous reindeer of all, in a newly illustrated edition. The delightful and colorful illustrations of award-winning illustrator Michael Emberley, in this completely re-drawn edition, make a new classic for a new generation.

My son is 8 yrs old and loves this series of books. The reading is fairly easy and the stories short so it keeps his interest. We read them as bed time stories and they are perfect. We own several of this series and we like them all.

BORING! 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

OK - I just bought 4 books from this series and not one of them was that interesting. My daughter is almost 4 and she loves for me to read to her, but these books are so boring I doubt she'll be requesting these often. I don't know why they get such high points from other reviews.

An adorable book! 5 out of 5 stars.

This is such a wonderful book that shows kids all the things that they CAN do all by themselves! I love all Little Critter books!

    Editorial Review:

In this simple, sweet, and very human picture book, Mercer Mayer's popular Little Critter shows us all the things he can do by himself, from tying his shoes (almost) to pouring his own juice (and only spilling a little). The wry illustrations often point up the fact that Little Critter doesn't do everything perfectly, but he makes an effort to do the best he can.

In the size and quality of this product. It is exactly how it is described, but in my mind I was picturing the english version. The colors aren't as good, and the translation loses a lot of the charm of the story, but it is still a good tool for anyone teaching their child a second language.

Goodnight Moon in French 4 out of 5 stars.

This is a great nighttime story book. We use the English version for our kids and I bought the French version of this book to help me work on my French while reading the story to them.

Fun & easy reading 5 out of 5 stars.

This story is a favorite of mine in english and, now that I'm teaching french to my children, it has become a favorite of theirs in french! It's easy reading and fun with great illustrations. I was extremely pleased that Amazon had Bonsoir Lune available and my children and I highly recommend it!

It's a classic - fun to have it in French 4 out of 5 stars.

This is such an American classic - always fun to give the French version to my French friends having kids. And in my experience the book becomes a favorite of the French kids too. This version is paperback, and was smaller than I expected. That's fine though - I just appreciate having a place from which to order it.

Awesome book - fabulous gift! 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This book is the perfect gift for a child that has a new baby at his or her house! The story line describes the excitement surrounding the soon-to-be birth of a baby. THEN the inconvenience, jealousy, and frustration felt after the baby actually arrives.
I've given this book to several "big brothers" and "big sisters" when I've sent a baby gift.

    Editorial Review:

The riotously funny Lilly, last seen in Chester's Way (Greenwillow), thinks her new baby brother, Julius, is disgusting--if he was a number, he would be zero. But when Cousin Garland dares to criticize Julius, Lilly bullies her into loudly admiring Julius as the baby of the world.

"Julius is the baby of the world," said his parents. But Lilly, his older sister, disagreed. She thought he was disgusting. She hoped he would go away. But he didn't. He stayed and stayed and stayed. Nothing her parents said or did could change Lilly's mind about Julius. But when Cousin Garland had a thing or two to say about the situation, Lilly had a change of heart.
