Loved this series 5 out of 5 stars.

I just love this series. It is nice to have another author that is interested in writing clean and wholesome stories. Go Stephenie. My dauhgters got me reading this series and I bought this set for my mother, who has now read all the books and she has been passing her copies around the rest of the family. I would highly recommend these books, couldn't put them down.

Best Series I Have Ever Read~! 5 out of 5 stars.

In August of 2007, I was searching for books to read after Harry Potter. I came across an article about the Twilight Saga being the next HP. I wrote the title of the first book down for reading at a later date.

Fast forward to May of 2008. When starting my first year of college, a girl in my Psychology class was talking with me about her favorite books. She mentioned Twilight, and said I could borrow her copy to read it. I accepted her offer and gave the book a try. I was hooked from the first chapter. I bought all the books for myself and am completely obsessed! I may buy this package just to have it! But seriously, if you haven't read this wonderful series, this is the best way to get the first 3 books. And don't miss the movie on November 21st!

Editorial Review:

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse capture the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This stunning set includes three hardcover books, two full-color posters and exclusive tattoos, and makes the perfect gift for fans of this bestselling vampire love story.

My son (15 1/2) requested this and when he got it he read it straight through in a couple of days. I am not familiar with the story, but am always glad to see him "devour" a book.

Fine watercolors by Meilo So enhance this story of an urban legend 5 out of 5 stars.
7 of 7 people found this review helpful.

Janet Schulman's PALE MALE: CITIZEN HAWK OF NEW YORK CITY tells of a rare red-tailed hawk's appearance in an oasis in the center of New York City. There he finds a mate and they build a nest atop one of Fifth Avenue's swankiest apartment buildings. Fine watercolors by Meilo So enhance this story of an urban legend in a picturebook requiring good reading skills but promising much.

A New Classic 5 out of 5 stars.

This is an amazing book, beautifully written and illustrated, and appealing to readers of all ages. This spring my elementary school ordered several copies for a bird/nature study. After multiple readings, the children were inspired to research and create their own nature books; their efforts were astounding and are a testimony to the book's beauty and appeal.

Editorial Review:

The birdwatchers of Central Park were buzzing–a young red-tailed hawk had been spotted, would he stay? The bird they dubbed Pale Male not only stayed, he became one of New York City’s most famous residents. Pale Male and his mate built their nest near the top of one of Fifth Avenue’s swankiest apartment buildings. Nine years and 23 chicks later, Pale Male’s fame had grown so large that a CBS newsman named him Father of the Year! But Pale Male was less beloved by the residents of the building, and in 2004 the owners suddenly removed the nest–setting off an international outcry on behalf of the birds.

Jonas Brothers are Keepers 5 out of 5 stars.

I read this book before I gave it to my Granddaughter. I am truly impressed by all the Jonas Brothers. Nick Jonas sounds like a wonderful, spiritual and gifted, young man. The entire Jonas family sound like a great support group for these boys, as they climb the ladder of success.
The book is a very fast read. Most of it is taken from interviews. I will give you a good insight into the boys. If you like the Jonas Brothers, you will love them more, after you read this. If you don't know how you feel about Jonas Brothers, after you read this book, I think you will be a fan. I know I am.

Editorial Review:

These brothers are already a tween sensation!

First Novel I ever read 5 out of 5 stars.

I started this series in 4th grade. I'm 24 now and I have read it over again about 4 times. This book was amazing when I was a child, and it still is. Brian Jacques does a fantastic job with his characters and scenery. The poems/riddles are great. The best of the series: Mattimeo. (3rd book)

Redwall 5 out of 5 stars.

Redwall (Tale of Redwall)Suitable for middle school youth. Good narrative with lots of action and imagination.

Beware 4 out of 5 stars.

Redwall is a great story about animals trying to defend themselves from the evil ones, but I would be careful who I recommend it to. I enjoyed most of it, with the exception of some of the rough scenes wherein someone dies or is tortured. The author doesn't make a great deal of it, yet they are descriptive and perhaps too much for younger readers, or listeners... an adult can handle it fine.

Not Impressed 1 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I read this book in college for a children's lit class. I was not impressed. It is a melodramatic look at the evils of drugs. It reads like a bad after school special, created to frighten teenagers and warn them never to experiment with drugs of any kind. Also, despite the lore following this novel, it was not written by a teenager. Read the novel if must, but there are definitely better books out there about drug usage.

Editorial Review:

Alice is fifteen, white, middle-class. She diets. She dates. She gets decent grades. She thinks someday she'd like to get married and raise a family. On July 9, Alice is turned on to acid. She digs it. Acid makes the world a better place. It opens up the world of sex. It made Alice feel free. Sometimes Alice worries about taking drugs. But she figures life is more bearable with drugs than without. Alice's parents don't know what's happening. They notice changes. They think Alice might be 'associating with the wrong people'. They have no idea she's on drugs. They cannot help her. The difference betweeen Alice and a lot of other kids on drugs is that Alice kept a diary ...

one of my favorite books of all time 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

For me, this is one of those books that you can read over and over and over, and even though you know the ending, you still can't put it down and you wish that maybe this time, there'll be a different ending.

I won't bother writing a detailed review about this book because I'd probably go on and on about it. I read it in my early teen years, and though it was never really relevant to my life (the setting, for one, is completely different from what I'm used to, and I was always somewhere in the middle of high school cliques - not on the outside, but not on the inside, either), but even then, I couldn't help but care deeply for each of the greasers. Ponyboy and his friends & family were flawed, but still likable, and they made me want the best for each of them.

Highly recommended. I can't say that enough.

Editorial Review:

Written over forty years ago, S. E. Hinton’s classic story of the struggle between the Socs and the Greasers remains as powerful today as it was the day it was written, and it is taught in schools nationwide. Now available in a great new package with an improved trim size, a stunning new cover, and bonus material. Designed with classroom use in mind, the new edition will maintain the same pagination as the previous edition.

The Best Book Ever 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

James and the Giant Peach is the best book I have ever read! It is about a boy named James whose parents were killed by a rhinoceros who escaped from the London Zoo. Because he no longer had parents, James was forced to live with his two aunts who were very mean to him.

One day when he was working, an old man gave James some magic green beans. If James swallowed the green beans, nothing bad would ever happen to him. James accidently dropped the green beans in the dirt and they disappeared into the earth.

There were eight beans and seven insects suddenly became very large after they ate the beans. James was wondering what happened to the eighth bean. It hit an old peach tree and a giant peach grew on the tree.

James and the insects became friends and they lived in the giant peach together for a day. They all realized that they had to escape from the James' horrible aunts. They cut the peach off the tree and it went rolling away with James and his friends. It rolled off a cliff and landed in the ocean.

After this point, James had many adventures inside the peach with his insect friends. They find a way to escape from sharks, they escape from "cloud men" who throw rocks at them, and finally, they make a way to land safely in busy New York City.

Enjoy all these exciting advenutres yourself by reading this great book!

Warriors 3 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Well, this book is titled secrets of the Clans, but there really aren't many secrets shared. I mean, there are some quiet stuff like cat's point of view on things, but they aren't secrets. There are a few typos, one including Scourge being listed a Blood when he killed Tigerstar. It is long, but some stuff in it I just plain don't like. When it advertised and said, "Full color pictures!", I did not know it just meant the warrior books printed out with no words or smaller picture on it. And there is a lot of stuff we already know- maps and stories, for example. There are some things that I feel Erin Hunter just threw in there to make it thicker, stuff that really is not a secret thing. The stuff in it that I do like, however, are the parts where they talk about cats of the clans. Like how it gives details about the cats before we met Rusty as he mouse hunted- Featherwhisker was Spottedleaf's mentor, for example. It has a few pictures of cats, like Tallstar and Crookedstar. They are small and ink, though. I just wonder- exactly how long have the Clans been running? I thought it must have been for many years, yet the book says that the first leader, Thunderstar, had a deputy named Owleyes who became Owlstar. Owlstar had a deputy who became Sunstar, and Sunstar's deputy was Bluestar. So it really can't have been going on for at least a hundred years, which is what I thought. Anyways, the beginning of the Clans part was neat, and the map that is from the forest to the lake is neat as well.
You should really just go to the library to get this book, not buy it. Though not fantastic, it's not horrible, either.
Have fun,
Moonwhisker
