Grizzwold can live with me! 5 out of 5 stars.

Grizzwold was a good book written by Syd Hoff. The story was about a huge bear named Grizzwold. He lived in the forest. The men came and cut down all the trees for paper. Grizzwold looked in the city zoo and circus. He found his home in the national park. I recommend this book because it is funny and sad. My favorite part was when Grizzwold went to the dance. The people thought he was wearing a costume. I was happy when he found a home.

Grizzwold 5 out of 5 stars.

This story is adout a bear Grizzwold. He was bigger than other bears. Other bears could fit in their caves, but Grizzlywold couldn't fit in his cave. So he slept outside by himself. He didn't mind. He had a nice coat of fur to keep him warm. I hope that people like it. I thought it was a great book.

grizzwold is my god, i would worship him if it were possible 5 out of 5 stars.

Grizzwold was one of my favourite books as a child, and upon rereading it, it is easy to see why. It's not a difficult or a condescending book, and the adventures of this bear are literally amazing. I would be proud to be his friend, if such a thing were possible.
Also, another reason for my love is that he has almost the same name as me, and for years (until I knew better) I thought the book was written about me, albeit as an anthromorpothic bear.
I must dig this out again.

Editorial Review:

Grizzwold the lovable bear is having a tough time finding somewhere to live. He's too big for most places, and too clumsy for others. He's not even any good as a live bearskin rug! Will Grizzwold ever find a home that's just right?

Excellent book! 5 out of 5 stars.

This is the perfect toddler book. I got it from the library for a homeschool lesson, and my daughter loved it so much I'm going to buy our own copy. The images are colorful and soft, with lots to look at. The story (or poetry) is very simple and short. I like how, even though the story centers around baby Jesse and his mom, the dad is involved also. The story is very warm, with obvious affection shown for Jesse by his parents.

Editorial Review:

What does a little bear wear while he romps through a bright and sunny day? In the morning, his pants that dance, and the sun on his legs that run. At lunchtime, celery crunch and sprouts in a bunch, and juice from a pear and rice in his hair. And at night, his pjs with feet and face on the seat, and sleep in his eyes and stars in the skies, as he dreams of the fun he'll have tomorrow.

In lilting verse and exuberant paintings, the first of Nancy White Carlstrom's and Bruce Degen's celebrated Jesse Bear books creates a special day not only for Jesse Bear, but for young children everywhere.

Editorial Review:

When Papa learns the cubs are going out for soccer, he's confounded. Whoever heard of a game where you can't even pick up the ball? Yes, Papa's an old-fashioned bat-and-ball-and-mitt sort of bear...until the cubs drag him kicking and screaming into the new generation and teach him the singular pleasures of that black-and-white ball. With their usual perceptive insights, the Berenstains also deal with issues like team - work, practice, and boys and girls playing together.

The Berenstain Bears In The Dark 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

This book is about brother bear and sister bear going to the library to get some books. When they arrived home it was reading time and brother bear scared sister bear reading her his scary book he checked out. That night sister bear couldn't fall asleep because she was scared so papa bear gave her a nightlight. That helped her fall asleep and she wasn't scared of the dark anymore. The lesson this book teaches is to not be afraid of the dark. It's a good book and I recommend it for children ages 3-10.

A review of The IN THE DARK 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I think this book is a pretty good book for people that like to read to young children, or just for anytime reading. This book features all of our favorite Berenstain Bears characters. Mama bear, Papa bear, Brother and Sister bear all play important parts in this book. In it, sister is read a scary book by brother and then is afraid of the dark, but will the scarer become the scaree?

Editorial Review:

After a scary bedtime story, Sister Bear is too frightened of the dark to shut her eyes. "Sound psychological advice and a night light help Sister conquer her fears. Children will empathize with Sister Bear in this well-written story."--School Library Journal.

Long Search Finally Ends 5 out of 5 stars.
10 of 10 people found this review helpful.

I must have read this Little Golden Book book to my daughter over 1000 times. She absolutely loved it as a child. Even though she had memorized the words she insisted on having it read to her every night and she caught me every time I tried to turn two pages at once.

For several years, she had unsuccessfully searched for this book so she could read it to her two sons aged 1 and 3. I was thrilled to see that it was recently re-published and available on Amazon[.com].

The story line involves a baby bear who hides on his father's shoulders when it is time for him to go to bed. The father bear "searches" all over the house for "little bear" who is nowhere to be found. At long last, the father bear looks in a mirror and discovers "little bear" who is perched on his shoulders. A simple story, but one which absolutely fascinated my daughter.

Editorial Review:

It is time for Little Bear to go to bed. But where can he be? Father Bear searches all over the house. Little ones will enjoy being in on the joke as they look at Richard Scarry's colorful pictures. This Little Golden Book Classic is now back in print for a new generation of readers to enjoy.

Great book for a little one! 5 out of 5 stars.

My daughter got this book for her first Christmas. I put it on the shelf & forgot about it until she was about 1 when she discovered it for herself. In the almost full year since then, a day has not gone by when this book has not been read -- generally, numerous times (& I'm not sick of it yet). Thankfully I've been able to memorize it -- if she's in the car and cranky, simply reciting the book will calm her down. Such is the power of this great book. She's managed to tear pages but we just tape it together and read it again the next day. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a fun, simple book for their little one.

Great Book!! 5 out of 5 stars.

My sons who are 2 and 3 years old Love this books. They memorize the whole book and will read it to me. I brought this book twice already, but i don't mind it at all because it's a must have in this house.

A wonderful book with an unusual and important message 5 out of 5 stars.
10 of 10 people found this review helpful.

I loved this book and so did my son. It is SO hard to find children's books that say that it's okay to be behaviorally a little different. So many books say it's okay to be different in other ways, but there is not much out there for the child that might be not ready to try new things as eagerly as their peers. Most books seem to tell them to "go ahead, try it, in the end it will be great" but this book admits that Edward was just plain not ready for an overnight, and that being at home was much happier for him. I think Rosemary Wells is one of the few authors out there for young children that truly understands them.

"He is Ready for Cinnamon Toast, Said Edward's Mother" 5 out of 5 stars.

In this charming story featuring Rosemary Wells's character Edward the Unready.

In this story, Edward finds himself unready for an overnight sleepover. He goes over to play at his friend Anthony's house, but a major snowstorm hits, and it's said that he'll have to stay overnight. Anthony's family does everything to help him out, but Edward still isn't ready. So they go to heroic efforts to get them home.

This story is great. It reminds me of a "Dragon Tales" story in which Cassie wasn't ready for an overnight sleepover either. She ended up doing a "half-sleepover."

Editorial Review:

Edward's parents tell him that because of the snow he will have to stay overnight with his friend Anthony, but Edward finds this overwhelming.

The Berenstain Bears' Moving Day 4 out of 5 stars.
9 of 9 people found this review helpful.

This was one of the best children's books I have read, and I recommend it for children that are getting ready to move. This book was written by Stan and Jan Berenstain.
Moving day is about a family of bears, they are Papa bear, Mama bear, and brother bear. Before they moved to the valley, they lived in a cave. Mama had a vegetable garden, and Papa cut down trees and made furniture. Brother kept busy playing with his many friends, which were animals. Then Papa bear said that they they needed to move because the trees were getting farther and farther away and Mama bear agreed that they needed to move because the soil was getting too hard for her vegetable garden. Brother bear was very sad about moving because he would miss his friends. Mama bear said that he could write his old friends and make new friends when they moved into their new house. They moved into a treehouse that needed alot of work. As they looked at it and imagined how it would look after it was fixed up, the neighbors came over to say "hi". Now the bears had new friends and after they fixed up the treehouse it was just perfect!

Editorial Review:

This is the story of the Bear family's move to their now-famous tree house in Bear Country. Would Brother Bear like it? Would he find new friends? He wasn't sure until he got there.

This book is good for small children. 4 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

This is book is good for small children, who need to understand how a new baby will change their life without being saddled with details on labor, delivery and pregnancy. To those who expect more, get another book... this one was written in the early 80s, when such things were as openly discussed as they are now. Most fathers didnt go into the delivery room at the time. Besides, they're BEARS not people. Also, to the people who find the gender-role things askew, come on... again, this was not written in this decade... yes it is dated, but I personally don't WANT my kids reading a whole lot of details on the process. Last, some complain that the child would have to be stupid to not notice mama's changing shape... not necessarily. A very small child would only notice such a thing when it effects them (hence mama's lap getting too small).

Editorial Review:

A Good Book 5 out of 5 stars.
7 of 10 people found this review helpful.

I have been a fan if the Berenstain Bears for as long as i can remember. I remember i started reading the books when I was in elementary school and I am 21 years old. I have found all the the books to be both educational and humorus. I still to this day collect the "first time reader" series and have a few books from other series as well. I hope that one day I will be able to share these books that I have loved as a child with my own childern. This book here "Blooper", just goes to show that the bears cubs stories should never end. I enjoyed these books as a child and I do hope that these books will continue to be written so to watch the bear cubs grow and experience more of the world and how they deal with the problems that they are faced.

Editorial Review:

Sister Bear is over at Lizzy Bruin's house watching Trouble at Big Bear High--a big-cubs' video that they probably shouldn't even be looking at--in which two teen bears are having an argument. When one of them gets really really angry, he says a certain word. It's a word Sister has never heard before. At dinner that night Sister tries out this brand-new, stronger-sounding word. When Mama Bear recovers her senses, she has to explain to Sister all about a certain kind of word. It's the kind of word that nobody, not even adults and certainly not cubs, should use at any time, no matter how upset or angry they are.
