Great books, thin pages 4 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

My 6 year old loves Biscuit books so I got him this one for his birthday. It's really a good price for so many of the books. He is very proud of himself as he completes each book because he's read a lot of pages in a big book. If I were to complain I would say the pages are a little thin so you have to be careful not to tear them. Overall though I would recommend this. My son holds on to this like a favorite toy, being sure to keep it away from his little sister. Who wouldn't want their child to treasure a book!

Winter Fun For All 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

The cutest dog in books teams up with The-Girl-in-Purple-Sneakers for a lot of snowy Winter fun.

Biscuit and company have a fun day in the snow. There are snowmen to build, snow angels and snow puppies to make. There is even sledding. Then the day ends cuddled in front of a warm fireplace with a mug of hot Cocoa.

Delightful illustrations are what really drive the Biscuit books and this one is no exception. Simple descriptions and the Woof, Woof of Biscuit show some of the fun that can be had in the snowy days of winter. The board book pages are very thick and sturdy.

Biscuit's Snowy Day (Biscuit) 5 out of 5 stars.

Here's Biscuit off on another adventure 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Biscuit is a little puppy who wants to go to school like his owner. He follows the little girl to school one day. Once at school Biscuit wants to join in with the other boys and girls. He wants to play ball, hear a story, wants a snack and meet the teacher. The little girl is worried that the teacher will be angry that Biscuit came to school. It turns out the teacher and the students enjoy Biscuit being with them.

This book is a great book for young dog lovers. There are very little words per page. Beginner readers will enjoy this book. The pictures are also very cute.

I would recommed this book for young children because it will keep their attention well. This is one is a series of other Biscuit books. If they enjoy this one they will look for others by the same author.

Editorial Review:

Share the love of reading with your beginner reader!

I Can Read books are widely recognised as the premier line of beginner readers. Inaugurated in 1957 with Else Holmelund Minarik's Little Bear, illustrated by Maurice Sendak, the series has grown to over 200 titles, which include mysteries, adventure stories, poetry, historical fiction and humour. Featuring award–winning authors and illustrators, and a fabulous cast of classic characters, I Can Read books introduce children to the joy of reading independently.

Just like his young fans, Biscuit can't wait to go to school! Even though no dogs are allowed, he is determined to see and do everything that takes place at school. But what will happen when the teacher discovers a puppy in his classroom?

We like it for all the wrong reasons. 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

My 6-year-old brought this book home from school, and it's a fine learning-to-read book for her. What struck her, though, was the (unintentionally?) hilarious nature of a few of the illustrations. They have to be seen to be appreciated. Call us juvenile, but we laughed until we cried. I'm buying one for home, and more for gifts! Thanks, Biscuit!

Editorial Review:

Everything is ready for Biscuit to take a bath'everything except Biscuit! After rolling in the mud and playing in the garden with his friend Puddles, will Biscuit ever get clean? Whether or not they share Biscuit's reluctance to take a bath, beginning readers will adore reading about his appealing antics in this My First I Can Read Book, the third in the best-selling series about the popular puppy.

“Another successful easy reader from the creators of Biscuit and Biscuit Finds a Friend. . . . A good choice for the youngest readers and listeners alike.”-- School Library Journal

Disappointing Scratch-and-Sniff 2 out of 5 stars.
8 of 8 people found this review helpful.

Very disappointed in this scatch and sniff book. Smells were almost non-existent, very weak, and if you could smell the item, it didn't even smell like what it was supposed to be. Plus, the scratch and sniff area was about the size of a nickle, way too small for my toddler to easily scratch, let alone find. Don't waste your money.

Going, going....gone. 3 out of 5 stars.
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

This is a nice easy reader book for my 6 year old daughter. The scratch n sniff was a fun added bonus. It worked well & had very accurate scents...but only for one reading. The second time she picked up the book to read & scratch she was very disappointed that the scents were gone. Don't expect it to last long. But on the other hand, it's a fun book that she still enjoys reading. If you can find this book on sale--great. Don't bother otherwise.

Editorial Review:

Christmas is coming!

The little girl knows just what needs to be done to get ready for Christmas -- choose a tree, back cookies, decorate the house -- but Biscuit is so excited he can't seem to sit still.

Scratch and sniff the scents to find out what that silly puppy has his nose in now!

My first book review 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The book Biscuit Wants to Play is about a puppy named Biscuit and two kittens. Biscuit wants to play with them, but they won't play with him. The kittens always want to play with something else. They run around and get stuck on a tree. Biscuit barks and barks until the girls come out and rescue the kittens from the tree

The author's purpose is to entertain the reader. When I was reading the book I was entertained by what the kittens and Biscuit did. Some parts in the story were funny. Another purpose is that the author taught me
that friend's are important. The author really entertained me I think the story was very cool and entertaining.

I think this author is a good author. I would recommend this story to my friend. I would read more stories from this author Alyssa Satin Capuclli.

kids love this 5 out of 5 stars.

My 20 Month Old Loves Biscuit 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I needed to add a filler or two to a recent order with Amazon so I picked out two Biscuit stories for my 20 month old son who loves books. He took to "Biscuit Finds a Friend" right away and is now a Biscuit fan. The story is very simple and easy for my son to follow along. Be prepared to say "woof, woof" over and over, but it's worth it!

Good early reader, don't let yourself get suckered into reading them aloud 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

These books are very short, very repetitive, very predictable, very simple.

Great early readers.

They could also be great for toddlers and babies, who use that repetition to learn to speak, but they're written so simply that you'll be bored to tears after reading the book more than three times. And you can read these books several times in one sitting, they're that short.

Give them to your kid when they start reading and insist that THEY read the books - not you. Do not fall into the trap of reading them. Ever. If your kid is like the ones I know, they'll fall in love and you'll be trapped.

Another great book. Woof! Woof! 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Biscuit's friend Sam is back. We met sam back in Happy Chanukah, Biscuit, but did not learn much about him. But now Sam, one of his kid owners (the girl with curly hair), and The-Girl-In-Purple-Sneakers are all playing together.

Sam is a very big dog, so big that Biscuit could take a bath in his water dish. Biscuit wants to be big like Sam but learns, in the end, that being small has its own virtues.

Another fun Biscuit book. In this one Biscuit learns that being oneself if the thing to do and that you need not be like someone else.

A Christmas Story About Giving 4 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The time is Christmas and The-Girl-With-The-Purple-Sneakers and Biscuit are giving gifts. The gifts vary greatly as do the recipients (everyone from grandparents to birds). A simple tale of how fun it is to be nice, helpful, and giving.

The artwork is standard for the Biscuit series and quite a few familiar faces will show up (human and animal). A short pleasant read in a very durable format.

Enjoyable 5 out of 5 stars.

My 15 month old daughter really enjoys the Biscuit series. This book teaches a great lesson about giving to others (although I am sure she is too young right now to totally understand it). Wonderful holiday book.

Meet the baby 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

There is a new baby in the house and Biscuit wants to meet it. But babies need a lot of attention and that means the baby is not always available to be met. But eventually Biscuit gets his chance.

Told in the same style as most of the other Biscuit books, this one has more of the repetition of the original than many of the others. The art is completely adorable as always and fans of these books will not be disappointed.

ADORABLE. A HUGE HIT WITH MY FOUR YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. 5 out of 5 stars.

Great books for preschoolers. Short and sweet with cute drawings. Biscuit is mischievous but kind, and his curiosity about the baby surely resonates with many new big sisters and brothers.

Incidentally, in this book, the endpapers show a baby bottle. No baby feeding is shown in the book itself, but if you're an avid lactivist, you may want to check the book out before buying it.

Editorial Review:

Biscuit wants to meet the new baby. But the baby is sleeping, and Biscuit must be patient–and quiet! It's not easy having to wait, but at last the curious puppy gets to meet the baby, and make a brand new friend!
