Editorial Review:

How realistic is it to believe that one lover can satisfy a woman’s every fantasy?

Nia Simone Bijou is a woman who has it all - and is driven by the desire for more. Born in Trinidad, reared in Los Angeles, living in Atlanta, Nia is a writer, a thinker, and a woman in conflict. She’s dealing with two sides of her Gemini self, feeling as if there are two women living inside her, both struggling for domination. One side of Nia is a logical yet heartbroken person who has never let go of an old pain, while the other side is a sensual woman who will not let her rest, desiring intimacy and sexual freedom, demanding Pleasure.

In the sweltering heat of July, loneliness, desire, and a struggle with both the sensual self and fantasy inspire Nia to become sexually adventurous, meeting lovers who arouse her in diverse ways, lovers who give her unimaginable experiences, generous lovers who desire to please her as much as she desires to satisfy them. Fantasies spiral out of control, and with her life on the line, Nia discovers that Pleasure does not come without pain.

Filled with passion, populated with characters that are sexually uninhibited, Pleasure is an unforgettable journey into a free-spirited world.

Pleasant Surprise!! 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I was told by a friend that this was a good book and I was not disappointed at all. I think that EJD has transitioned to the action-thriller genre flawlessly. I was very impressed by the character development and how he was able to tell multiple stories from the past and present at one time in a very smooth manner.

This book had something for everybody and with the majority of the story being based in Europe there was always an exotic backdrop to the story. I was very impressed and I'm looking forward to the 3rd book in the series because the first 2 were page turners!!

I did not give the book 5 stars for 2 reasons:
1) I was somewhat disappointed when SWS ended and it was "to be continued". If I wasn't able to immediately able to download the next book and read from there I would have felt like I was really left hanging.
2) The second book (Waking With Enemies) was excellent as well (except for the excessive sex-filled chapters), but these two books would have made a great 600-page single book as opposed to 2 very good books with a "to be continued" book followed by a book that has to recap much of what was learned from the first book. If they were two separate stories, then its always fun to follow a good character. Considering it was one story, it could have been sewn up in one book.

Anyway - great job EJD - very impressive. Gideon is the man!!

Editorial Review:

Gideon is more than a hit man. In a world of money, violence, women, and love on the run, he's the master of the game. Now Gideon's got the job of a lifetime. The prize is the woman he desires and a cool million. The problem is it's just the kind of hit that can make him more enemies. Like the two beautiful strangers on Gideon's tail. Are they there to protect him or bring him down? There's one way to find out. Follow them into an underworld where killers and victims alike thrive on the darker passions of revenge and desire.

Terrible affront to literature 1 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Eric Jerome Dickey is a phenomenally successful author, especially popular I gather with African American readers. He has 12 other books to his credit. I decided to see what all the fuss was about.
Now I know: It's SEX and lots of it, extremely explicit with many anatomic and gynecological details.
If the difference between erotica and porn lies in the literary quality of the work, this book definitely falls into the category of straight porn.
I won't bother to describe the plot -- it's laughable -- or the characters -- they're non-existent. But the worst aspect of this terrible affront to literature is the writing which is plain awful. Here's a sample, picked more or less at random:
"I felt as cold as a Siberian wasteland. the same way I had felt that night.
The same way I had felt in North Carolina when I killed Midnight.
The same way I had felt in Montreal when I killed that man for my mother.
The same way I had felt many nights..."
Try that for 383 pages. The first 80 or so are mainly taken up with a three-way sex scene in which our hero exchanges fluids with Lola and "Mrs. Jones. " (I kid you not!) Many shuddering orgasms take place. One of the two women says she aint no "Joanne" -- by which she means she's not a lesbian and it's OK to make love to another woman as long as one penis-bearing indivdual is in the room watching.
For what it's worth, the book takes place in London, my birthplace. For all the local color, it might as well take place in the Mall of America.
I've already wasted far too many words on this alleged book. If you like porn, be my guest. Otherwise, save your time and money.

Editorial Review:

New York Times bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey’s must-read follow-up to Sleeping with Strangers.

Gideon, the hit man introduced in Sleeping with Strangers, returns in this “high-octane”(Publishers Weekly) thriller to discover that a hit has been taken out on him. Is it the man he left alive in Tampa, the cold beauty who taught him how to kill, the scorned woman he still desires, or an unknown enemy? As the hunter becomes the hunted, Gideon will need his friends—and his enemies—to get out of this crisis alive.

I liked the book 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

When I read a synopsis of the book, I didn't think I was going to like, but I purchased it anyways because I tend to like Eric J. Dickey's work. After reading the first two or so chapters of the book, I was hooked. It is so surprising how Dickey can capture the reality of what we experience as females dealing with the different dramas of women. If you love the movie "Waiting to Exhale" you will like this book. I pictured that movie while reading this book! As always, kudos to Eric Jerome Dickey!

Naughty AND Nice! 3 out of 5 stars.

I'm not always crazy about EJD's writing style, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I don't know how he does it, but he is good at writing from a woman's perspective.

Editorial Review:

This winter, the New York Times bestselling author spices things up with something hot.

In Naughty or Nice, Eric Jerome Dickey explores the lives of three sisters, each with their own man problems. But this holiday season, Frankie, Livvy, and Tommie McBroom are not only getting together, but finally gettin' it together-and discovering what family, sisterhood, and love are all about.

WON-DER- FUL!!! 5 out of 5 stars.

This book was absoluetly amazing. I couldn't put it down. EJD nailed this novel to perfection. I had to go out to buy a second copy to keep in my DON'T TOUCH/WON'T LET ANYONE BORROW book case.

It could happen to you!! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This book was one of the better of EJD's book. It tells of the unraveling of two marriages caused by unfaithful spouses.

The tale is gripping and realistic. It allows readers to contemplate the state of their own marriages and wonder if this too could happen to them. I would definitely recommend this book; it is not erotic to a nauseating extreme and it actually has a decent plot and premise.

Great Read! 4 out of 5 stars.

This is a great book. Deals with infidelity.....obviously. But with a good twist. This is not your typical, predicatable cheating husband/boyfriend novels. So far my favorite Eric Jerome Dickey book.

Editorial Review:

She works nights. He works days. Their sex is routine. Conversations are empty. Something's got to give. It does, when she discovers her husband's affair. But an unforgivable betrayal is about to yield unexpected results, as a husband and wife face a challenge of trust, faith, and the staying power of love...

Can we talk for a minute EJD???? 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

As a fellow writer, who is not on your level of success of course, I find it hard to believe that a basic rule has been missed by you. You will be suprised to know I have not finished this book, and with only 100 pages left, I was going to toss it aside as you just having a publishing deadline, needed something to catch the editors attention, and whipped something together that had a beginnig (and from what I read in the reviews - a good ending), but you didn't think about how to get from point A to point B.

Now, what is missing from this...I will tell you. First, I guess I am luckier than most readers, in that I took a break from you for a while, so your previously written works have not come across my hands. I do however count myself luck for having just bought a prior book of yours on discount "Chasing Destiny" WHICH I LOVED!!!!!!!!! But in this book, you should know that when a character has internal dialogue - the action between the other characters in the book stops. In writing, unless you are known for such prose, should NEVER go on for pages at a time. After 150 pages, we are introduced to no other characters connected to our main characters...no coworkers, no neighbors, no relatives, no delivery man, Avon Rep., nothing! These characters are not allowed to interact with anyone else, so their personalities are heresay...and with that, I really could care less about them.

When we get to the south...it is at least refreshing to get to know other characters, and get a feel of who Genevieve is. I am sure this ending is related to this, but you should have just hacked out a novella (really, a shout story), to tell this story. What good is a great ending, when the journey leading to it was so bad that ANY ENDING is bound to be good?

...I am sure you have improved in your later novels, and I am sure the juices can't flow all the time. Look forward to reading another one of your works.

Editorial Review:

The sensational New York Times bestselling novel, now in paperback

Genevieve is brilliant and beautiful. Her husband has a thriving career. Together, they have a beautiful home in Los Angeles. Together, they're crazy in love. Then one day a family tragedy brings Genevieve back to her Alabama hometown, back to a past she hoped her husband would never discover, and back to secrets shared by her sister Kenya-mysterious, teasing, and dangerously irresistible. Soon, Genevieve's husband will discover the truth about his wife and her family. Something he was never meant to know-and a desire he was never meant to explore.

I really enjoyed this book! I didn't want it to end. Thanks EJD for another great book.

predictable 2 out of 5 stars.

HO-HUM. Motorcycle tough chick, (Billie) meets harried, married man (Keith). He whines and complains that his wife doesn't understand him. She's an orphan and he fills the void in her life. Enter his jealous wife, (Carmen) and his brat of a daughter,(Destiny),and his crazy in-laws. Nice sex play between the Billie and Keith. Carmen, the jealous wife is over the top and little Destiny is a spoiled brat with little home training. Throw in some street violence, best friend drama and tears. It took me over 2 months to finish this book. It seemed like a TV soap opera, of which I'm not a fan of. Better to get it at the library or a used book store. Sorry EDJ. For me, gone are the days when EDJ held my interest with Sister, Sister, Milk in My Coffee, Liar's Game, Cheaters, even Geneieve. I wish he'd go back to his old style.

Editorial Review:

Billie is as notorious for her beauty as she is for the hot yellow Ducati motorcycle she rides down L.A.'s meanest streets. Tough and talented, she does things her way. Until an unplanned pregnancy spins her life out of control. Her problem: Her lover Keith's divorce decree has been revoked, forcing him to choose between Billie and his dangerously manipulative wife, Carmen, along with their troubled and deceptive daughter, Destiny, a fifteen-year-old dancing on the edge of womanhood. Horrific things happen when Keith's daughter disappears in the company of low friends in dark places. And in chasing Destiny, Billie, Keith, and Carmen find their lives inextricably linked by a dangerous and seductive pursuit-at any speed, at any cost.

Really enjoyed this book - full of little surprises. I gave to my 31 year old nephew to read and he's almost finished - likes it too. We're both interested in more books from Eric Jerome Dickey.

Definitely not the typical Jerome Dickey Novel 3 out of 5 stars.

This was definitely a new genre for E. Jerome Dickey. I have always loved his novels because he is able to write from the woman's perspective so eloquently. He pays extra details to the surroundings in the book and to the characters. I also love the way he manages to mention characters from previous books in each novel. It makes his characters seem real. The problem here was the crime element. I could not get used to him writing about this. Maybe I was disappointed in that, unitl I did not allow my self to enjoy the book?

Another Dickey HIT! 4 out of 5 stars.

my first time reading eric jerome dickey 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This book is the story of a group of male and female
friends that are struggling in their mid-twenties to
define themselves in careers, friendships and relationships.

The main focus of the story though seems to be on Chante,
a black woman with too much attitude. I know that there
are SOME women out there like that but it would have been
nice to show her as two-dimensional and perhaps even vulnerable
without the layers of baggage. That's my only gripe about
the book.

The ending was somewhat surprising and different. I liked that
I could not predict the ending.

Other than that, it was an enjoyable read and for this to
be my first time reading an Eric Jerome Dickey book, my
hat goes off to him.

My start to loving Dickey! 5 out of 5 stars.

This was my first book by Jerome Dickey, so I was skeptical with starting a new author, but I'm so happy I checked this guy out. I enjoyed this book so much that I went and picked up more books by him. I want to get every book he's written! This book was a great read. Interesting fictional look at complicated relationships and the complexities of interracial dating and the perception of race. Dickey's eye for detailing all the emotions of the characters makes this one a must-read for romance lovers.

Editorial Review:

Southern brotha Jordan Greene lands in the Big Apple and meets a mysterious redhead who turns his world upside down. Milk in My Coffee is an entertaining and complex romance that explores the ups and downs of loving on the other side of the color bar.
