Best one by far 5 out of 5 stars.

I was a little disappointed with Bonjour Butterfly so I was hesitant to buy this one however upon reading it, I was quickly relieved!! It is adorable and has a good message too.

Love the Fancy Nancy series! 5 out of 5 stars.

Fancy Nancy is delightful & this book does not disappoint. One very clever note I wanted to point out to all of you parents reading this book to your daughters...Nancy's dad says the dog is a LaSalle Spaniel - if you turn back a couple of pages you'll see that the animal shelter is the "LaSalle Street Animal Shelter" - TOO cute (I missed it the first few reads ;-))

Editorial Review:

Fancy Nancy is back! And when her family decides to get a dog, she's certain she can be fancier than ever. After all, a papillona small, delicate, fluffy dogis the ultimate accessory. But her family wants a large, plain dog. How unglamorous! With Fancy Nancy's trademark humor and warmth, Nancy discovers that real fanciness does not depend simply on appearance but more on a genuine joie de vivre, which is a fancy phrase for having lots of fun.

Editorial Review:

When Dr. Seuss gets serious, you know it must be important. Published in 1971, and perhaps inspired by the "save our planet" mindset of the 1960s, The Lorax is an ecological warning that still rings true today amidst the dangers of clear-cutting, pollution, and disregard for the earth's environment. In The Lorax, we find what we've come to expect from the illustrious doctor: brilliantly whimsical rhymes, delightfully original creatures, and weirdly undulating illustrations. But here there is also something more--a powerful message that Seuss implores both adults and children to heed.

The now remorseful Once-ler--our faceless, bodiless narrator--tells the story himself. Long ago this enterprising villain chances upon a place filled with wondrous Truffula Trees, Swomee-Swans, Brown Bar-ba- loots, and Humming-Fishes. Bewitched by the beauty of the Truffula Tree tufts, he greedily chops them down to produce and mass-market Thneeds. ("It's a shirt. It's a sock. It's a glove. It's a hat.") As the trees swiftly disappear and the denizens leave for greener pastures, the fuzzy yellow Lorax (who speaks for the trees "for the trees have no tongues") repeatedly warns the Once-ler, but his words of wisdom are for naught. Finally the Lorax extricates himself from the scorched earth (by the seat of his own furry pants), leaving only a rock engraved "UNLESS." Thus, with his own colorful version of a compelling morality play, Dr. Seuss teaches readers not to fool with Mother Nature. But as you might expect from Seuss, all hope is not lost--the Once-ler has saved a single Truffula Tree seed! Our fate now rests in the hands of a caring child, who becomes our last chance for a clean, green future. (Ages 4 to 8)

This was our first Mo Willems book and my great grandchildren loved it!
Funny, well drawn, and contains a great lesson, too. We'll be adding to our Mo Willems library.

Not as interactive as other pigeon stories 4 out of 5 stars.

Our family loves all the pigeon stories. The Puppy version is very cute and kids can relate to the pigeon's plea. However this story has not been as much fun to read as the other pigeon stories because it is less interactive. In Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, kids get to enthusiastically tell the pigeon "no!" on almost every page which is most of the fun. This story does not give kids as much of an opportunity to play disciplinarian--a big and unusual role for a preschooler.

A Pigeon to identify with! 5 out of 5 stars.

The latest in the Mo Willems library of children's picture books has our favorite Pigeon begging for a puppy!

The great and bad thing about Mo Willems' books is that the pigeon exhibits some of our children's worst habits in how he pleads, begs, whines and demands that his needs are met. There was a time I stopped reading my daughter Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog!, The and Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! because I felt that pigeon was helping to contribute to these bad habits. I decided, instead, that these books are great tools to show a child what NOT to do (by emphasizing that when discussing aspects of the book with your child) and to show a child how silly these behaviors look. Aside from that, these books are just plain fun!

Any child can identify with Pigeon's childish behaviors and crazy antics. I also would recommend that if you like the pigeon books, you pick up the Trixie books Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale (Bccb Blue Ribbon Picture Book Awards (Awards)) & Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity. Great, fun books to read.

Editorial Review:

He really, really, REALLY wants one. He'll take really good care of it! What's the matter--don't you want him to be happy?
The latest book in the best-selling Pigeon series is the funniest one yet.

Great books, thin pages 4 out of 5 stars.
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

My 6 year old loves Biscuit books so I got him this one for his birthday. It's really a good price for so many of the books. He is very proud of himself as he completes each book because he's read a lot of pages in a big book. If I were to complain I would say the pages are a little thin so you have to be careful not to tear them. Overall though I would recommend this. My son holds on to this like a favorite toy, being sure to keep it away from his little sister. Who wouldn't want their child to treasure a book!

I love this book series 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

These books sparked my daughters intrest in reading chapter books. I started reading them with her in kindergarten and by first grade she was reading them on her own. I would read each chapter as she completed it, then ask her questions. She has really good comprehension of these books and lots of laugher while she is reading. She is a rising third grader now and still enjoys the Fairy book series.

great book 5 out of 5 stars.

I did not know of the Pet Fairies series before ordering Penny the Pony Fairy. I was so pleased with the book and my granddaughter loved having me read it to her. The book played right into a 5 year old's imagination -adventure, but not too scary. I liked the "chapters" format so we could stop and start as time permitted. The books are affordable and I'll definitely purchase others in the series for Christmas, birthday, etc. to start a nice family tradition. My granddaughter will remember Grandma reading the Pet Fairies series.

Lauren the Puppy Fairy and Katie the Kitten Fairy 5 out of 5 stars.

I purchased Katie the Kitten Fairy and Lauren the Puppy Fairy to use with my R.E.A.D. group at a local elementary school. Both books were quickly chosen to read. The children seemed to really enjoy them and I look forward to purchasing more of this series to use with my R.E.A.D. students next year.

Name your dog Albertsons because you found him there?
A lonely little girl finds a stray dog who can smile.
This preacher's daughter has been to India ( was named after it), but lost her mother very early.
Sadness and loneliness give way to new friends and
good times as Winn-Dixie wins friends her in the Florida summer.
The book is well written and a heart string plucker.
Most children and grandparents should enjoy the stories here.

Man's Best Friend 5 out of 5 stars.

I think other kids would like "Because of Winn-Dixie" because it's funny and realistic. I think the characters are believable because they acted and made friends like they were real. I thought the book was fun because you got to see other kids make new friends. A funny part of the story was when the dog was singing along with the choir. The dog in the story was scared when a thunderstorm hit.

I liked the ending because they lost something important which was sad, but it turned out happy at the very end. My favorite part of the book was the ending because all the characters were happy.

These books are great for 6 year old girls. I order a few every time my daughter brings home a book order from school. She often sits down and reads them cover to cover. You might want to start with the first of these series... the rainbow fairies, starting with "Ruby the Red fairy", which introduces the characters.

Really catpures babies attention 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Bought a few black and white books and have been showing them periodically since our baby has been only a few days old. He will stare at the book and study things. I've only gotten through the cover and one page but I can see the images really capture the babies attention. Will be using it for months to come. Very nice illustrations. Highly recommended.

great infant book 5 out of 5 stars.

This hardboard book has large, full page black and white drawings. Each page features a different animal-bunny, cat, etc. This is a great infant and toddler book to practice naming and labeling animals.

Awesome book for infants 5 out of 5 stars.

I was skeptical but decided to give the black and white books a chance. I'm so glad I did. My daughter loves them, especially this one with its happy animal faces. When she sees the dalmatian puppy, she smiles, kicks, punches, and laughs. This book is well worth the few dollars it costs.

What babies like to see! 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Considering how well known a fact it is that infants are most intrigued by black and white objects and pictures, we had the hardest time finding many books that offered them. We were very pleased to find this book on Amazon. We ordered it when our son was 4 weeks old, and he's very drawn to the pages. It is great to see which animals peak his interest and as he has grown (10 weeks now), it still entertains him. You can tell it is stimulating because his expressions totally change with each new page.

This is a great addition to your infant's library.
