Editorial Review:

Since the death of her husband, Anne Dunne and her three children have struggled in every way. In a last ditch effort to save the family, Anne plans an elaborate sailing vacation to bring everyone together once again. But only an hour out of port, everything is going wrong. The teenage daughter, Carrie, is planning to drown herself. The teenage son, Mark, is high on drugs and ten-year-old Ernie is nearly catatonic. This is the worst vacation ever.
Anne manages to pull things together bit by bit, but just as they begin feeling like a family again, something catastrophic happens. Survival may be the least of their concerns.
Written with the blistering pace and shocking twists that only James Patterson can master, SAIL takes "Lost" and "Survivor" to a new level of terror.

Editorial Review:

The greatest superpower of all isn't to be part spider, part man, or to cast magic spells--the greatest power is the power to create.
Daniel X has that power.

Daniel's secret abilities -- like being able to manipulate objects and animals with his mind or to recreate himself in any shape he chooses -- have helped him survive. But Daniel doesn't have a normal life. He is the protector of the earth, the Alien Hunter, with a mission beyond what anyone's imagining.

From the day that his parents were brutally murdered before of his very eyes, Daniel has used his unique gifts to hunt down their assassin. Finally, with the help of The List, bequeathed to him in his parents' dying breath, he is closing in on the killer.

Now, on his own, he vows to take on his father's mission--and to take vengeance in the process.

Women's Murder Cllub 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This was an airport pick-up. I like the series. Again another exciting story with so many twists you all most get lost. It keeps you guessing to the very end. You want to read it without putting it down.

Difficult to catch some shuteye with one eye open trying to finish the book.

James Patterson is unique author and keeps these lightweight easy read action thrillers coming.

Editorial Review:

A terrible fire in a wealthy suburban home leaves a married couple dead and Detective Lindsay Boxer and her partner Rich Conklin searching for clues. And after California's golden boy, Michael Campion has been missing for a month, there finally seems to be a lead in his case--a very devastating lead.

As fire after fire consume couples in wealthy, comfortable homes, Lindsay and the Murder Club must race to find the arsonists responsible and get to the bottom of Michael Campion's disappearance. But suddenly the fires are raging too close to home.

Frightened for her life and torn between two men, Lindsay must find a way to solve the most daunting dilemmas she's ever faced--at work and at home.

What a total disappointment and a waste of money. I am a huge fan of Patterson but this was not only stupid but creepy. What a waste.

Waste of money 1 out of 5 stars.

It could have been a nice plot, but they didn't even try to give it any depth and the only suspense was never explained. Very poor. Don't waste your time.

A Sweet Adult Fairytale 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I thought this book a delightful adult fairytale. Make no mistake, while it is pure escape, it, nevertheless, is a feel good story. If you want reality, pick up the newspaper or turn on the TV news, because this little gem is not for you. If you want a quick, yet simple afternoon read, give it a try. It doesn't hurt to set aside reality for a few lazy hours and in the meantime, it just might even make you smile and lift your spirits. Nothing wrong with that.

Editorial Review:

As a little girl, Jane has no one. Her mother, the powerful head of a Broadway theater company, has no time for her. She does have one friend-a handsome, comforting, funny man named Michael-but only she can see him.

Years later, Jane is in her thirties and just as alone as ever. Then she meets Michael again-as handsome, smart and perfect as she remembers him to be. But not even Michael knows the reason they've really been reunited.

SUNDAYS AT TIFFANY'S is a love story with an irresistible twist, a novel about the child inside all of us-and the boundary-crossing power of love.

A gripper from the get-go! 5 out of 5 stars.

I'm only on page 71 and can't put it down! Alex Cross is a great character and James Patterson writes him well. A must read for the Alex Cross or JP fan!

Alex Cross at his best! 5 out of 5 stars.

Alex Cross, that lovable sleuth does it again. In this exiting edition, Alex has a new romance, but old enemies threaten to take her away. With many familiar characters and danger on every page, this is one of my favorite Cross books yet! A must read. Highly recommended. S.L. Chessor, author of Poodlums, Boogeymen and Booglers and My Tongue Fell Out. Poodlums, Boogeymen and Booglers: A Poetry Collection

Editorial Review:

Just when Alex thought his life was calming down into a routine of patients and therapy sessions, he finds himself back in the game--this time to catch a criminal mastermind like no other. A spate of elaborate murders in Washington D.C. have the whole East Coast on edge. They are like nothing Alex Cross and his new girlfriend, Detective Brianna Stone, have ever seen. With each murder, the case becomes increasingly complex. There's only one thing Alex knows: the killer adores an audience. As victims are made into gruesome spectacles citywide, inducing a media hysteria, it becomes clear to Alex that the man he's after is a genius of terror--and he's after fame. The killer has the whole city by its strings--and he'll stop at nothing to become the most terrifying star that Washington D.C. has ever seen.

When the home of Alex Cross's oldest friend, Ellie Cox, is turned into the worst murder scene Alex has ever seen, the destruction leads him to believe that he's chasing a horrible new breed of killer. As Alex and his girlfriend, Brianna Stone, become entangled in the deadly Nigerian underworld of Washington D.C., what they discover is shocking: a stunningly organized gang of lethal teenagers headed by a powerful, diabolical man--the African warlord known as the Tiger. Just when the detectives think they're closing in on the elusive murderer, the Tiger disappears into thin air. Tracking him to Africa, Alex knows that he must follow. Alone.

From the author Time magazine has called "the man who can't miss," CROSS COUNTRY is the most heart-stopping, speed-charged, electrifying Alex Cross thriller yet.

Don't Bother With This One! 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I love most of James Patterson's books and he is one of my favorite authors. Alex Cross, the Women's Murder Club, great characters and great reads for suspense and entertainment. But... he's now venturing off with other authors why, I don't know but this is the second one I've read that I was sorely disappointed. This one especially. I couldn't wait to get through it and I found myself skipping over most of it to see if there was a point to the story.
I figured the plot quite easily but was hoping for something, anything to make it worth my read. If you've seen the movie the Sixth Sense, you'll see it's a weak spin of sorts from that theory.
I love a good read but this is not one. My message to fans of James Patterson is to stick to Alex Cross and the Murder Club books and skip all of the rest and especially if he aligns himself with another author.
I wonder if Patterson's goal has moved from author to one of seeing how many books he can write and co-write?

Editorial Review:

Cory Friedman woke up one morning when he was five years old with the uncontrollable urge to twitch his neck. From that day forward his life became a hell of irrepressible tics and involuntary utterances, and Cory embarked on an excruciating journey from specialist to specialist to discover the cause of his disease. Soon it became unclear what tics were symptoms of his disease and what were side effects of the countless combinations of drugs. The only certainty is that it kept getting worse. Simply put: Cory Friedman's life was a living hell.

AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE is the true story of Cory and his family's decades-long battle for survival in the face of extraordinary difficulties and a maddening medical establishment. It is a heart-rending story of struggle and triumph with a climax as dramatic as any James Patterson thriller. (2008)

Gripping book that holds the reader's attention 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This book has it all - murder, mayhem, romance, and a thick plotline that kept me engaged all the way through. Patterson's characters are well-developed and their motives believable. He's created a couple of villains that had me cheering once they met their ultimate demise.

There are enough loose ends here to warrant a sequel. There had to be some repercussions from Nick and Andie's actions, and I think those could be the foundation for another visit to these characters.

Patterson's writing style is spare and he doesn't waste a lot of words. I appreciate that quality and always find his books to be a quick, yet worthwhile read. 'Judge and Jury' is no exception.

Editorial Review:

Senior FBI agent Nick Pellisante is closing in on the notorious mob boss The Electrician, when the scheduled sting goes spectacularly awry. Two FBI agents are dead, the boss is wounded, and Pellisante vows the Electricians next move will be from a jail cell. Andie Echeverra, a part-time actress and a single, full-time mom, is assigned her next role as Juror #11 in the landmark trial against Mafia Don Dominic Cavello. Everybody is on edge. No one has ever crossed the man whose orders have made entire families disappear. Though Cavellos influence extends across blue uniforms and black robes, the case should be open-and-shut. But the legal system fails with devastating results, and Nick and Andie are the only ones left to seek justice. To stop the Electrician, they must take matters into their own hands. They are the judge and jury now. James Patterson spins an all-out heart-pounding legal thriller that pits two people against the most vicious and powerful mobster since John Gotti.
