I purchased this book primarily for information on Flash CS3 and Photoshop CS3. I don't have anything to compare it to in regard to these two features, but it is clear to me that the section on Dreamweaver CS3 is not nearly as thorough as the book "Dreamweaver MX 2004" which I purchased several years ago.

I just tried to read up on a couple of Dreamweaver topics in "The Web Collection Revealed" but couldn't find them mentioned. I didn't have any trouble finding the topics covered in my "DREAMWEAVER MX 2004" and the instruction from MX 2004 still worked in the CS3 version of Dreamweaver.

Great production techniques for Dreamweaver cs3 and fun! 5 out of 5 stars.

I found Mastering CSS with Dreamweaver CS3 refreshing, informative and fun. Having built dozens of websites using Dreamweaver, studying this book strengthened my production techniques. IE hacks (for all versions) were scattered throughout the book. Excellent explanations were given. A variety of layouts were used throughout the chapters, with again excellent explanations. Core concepts of CSS were presented and how to use them were demonstrated. On top of this, it was fun completing the exercises. Note: 1. not for beginners 2. I would suggest going through the book. Then take each chapter, study it and then build a page or two using the principles and techniques demonstrated. I hope a second book is in the works.

I am finding this book helpful, except I am using Dreamweaver MX 2004 and this book is apparently for the previous version. Enough has changed that it is frustrating trying to figure out where things have moved to. I have to pull up the help screen to compare how the book says to do it with how you actually do it in the updated version. Use caution when using this book for the 2004 software. Otherwise, I personally like the pictures--being a visual learner.

I think anyone serious about Fireworks needs this Bible as a reference source. The index is excellent for looking up quick answers. Its a bit "design" challenged and if you have version 3 the major portion of the illustrations are the same.

You could learn Fireworks with this book if you are patient or have a lot of time, but its better suited as a reference book. The layout and order of things don't flow like a step by step, beginners book.

Don't get me wrong, this is an excellant book with a wealth of information. If you are looking for inspirational design ideas then this isn't it. There are some more advanced topics such as customizing Fireworks and a chapter on integrating Fireworks with Dreamweaver. Good value for the money. If you want to find info quick, this book fits the bill.

As another reviewer had stated, this book just tells someone to do things without explanations as to WHY it is being done. The most critical component for any instructional writing in the technical realm must show the user what the purpose is for the actions. Screenshots are rare and instructions are not comprehensive. Find another book if you actually want to learn skills that you can remember and use later.

I am presently using this book in my semester Web Design I class. The book is great for students to learn how to use Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks. The sample files are very helpful to use with each exercise. My students are learning a great deal!

This book is well-organized for a very beginner to learn how to use Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks as a first step. Actually I enjoyed practicing Dreamweaver and Flash with this book in a way. The pictures helped me to understand what I should do. However, I think the Fireworks part is too simple. I believe that many web designers always use PaintShop, Photoshop, or Fireworks to design the surface/skin of websites at first, transfer them to Dreamweaver to finalize them and make them functional as a web site. This book does not explain how to use fireworks enough for web designs. It is not great in the last part explaining how to put Flash, Fireworks, and Dreamweaver together as a effective web site. No web designer would be satisfied with only this book.

If this book was good to keep in my shelf, and I check something in the book again, I would have put four or five stars. However, I don't feel I need to keep this book. This means that I won't review this book again. That makes me put only three stars here.
