Learn Your Lesson to Care About Your Family Too 5 out of 5 stars.

Knuffle Bunny is two of my students' favorite book. Check out their reviews below:

Learn Your Lesson to Care About Your Family Too

When Trixe went to the laundromat she put her Knuffle Bunny down to help her father. Knuffle Bunny was her favrite stuffed animal. Then they went back hom. Trixie noticed her Knuffle Bunny was gone. When she got home her mother said "Where's Knuffle Bunny!" Then they ran back ot the landromat. Then they found her. This book Knuffle Bunny is for people that only care for their stuffed animals.

I think that because Trixe got happier when she found her nuffle bunny, and shejumped up and down and screamed "nuffle bunny!"

Another reason I think that is because they had to run all the way back to the laundromat just because of Knuffle Bunny. Instead of just letting it wash, and she made her father hurt himself.

Another reason I think that is because she made her dad stick his head in the washing mashine while the mashine was still on.

If you only care about your stuffed animal, then get off your bottom and run to the library hury up before it closes "go...go...go!"

Trixie and Knuffle Bunny

Trixie goes to the laundromat with her dad. Trixie sees she does not have her bunny knuffle bunny. She started to cry and drag her feet. Then her dad saw the same thing she did not have Knuffle Bunny. Her dad helped her look for it he went crazzy for it. Then her dad looked and looked for the bunny in the wash. Then he found it. When trixie gets it out of the wash she screams Knuffle Bunny wich were her frist words. That is how I know Trixie loves her stuffed bunny Knuffle Bunny. And it is special to her.

One reason I know Trixie loves Knuffle Bunny is because she cries really loud when she does not have it. She also cries all the way to the hosue for him. She also would not leave the house with out Knuffle Bunny.

Another reason I know is because Trixie makes her dad look really hard. She talks Knuffle Bunny everywhere with her. That is how I know she loves Knuffle Bunny.

The last reason Trixie is excited when she gets Knuffle Bunny back. When Trixie got Knuffle Bunny, Trixie said her first words which were "Knuffle Bunny" because she loves him. Trixie is very excited when she gets her bunny back.

This is how I know Trixie loves Knuffle Bunny.

Editorial Review:

Trixie, Daddy, and Knuffle Bunny take a trip to the neighborhood Laundromat. But the exciting adventure takes a dramatic turn when Trixie realizes somebunny was left behind. Using a combination of muted black-and-white photographs and expressive illustrations, this stunning book tells a brilliantly true-to-life tale about what happens when Daddy's in charge and things go terribly, hilariously wrong.

A wonderful story about loneliness and friendship-perfect for preschoolers! 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

"A Visitor for Bear" is a perfect story for preschoolers and anyone else for that matter. It tells the story of Bear, a rather reclusive character who prefers to live alone, undisturbed and even posts a sign on his front door "No Visitors Allowed". Things change when bear gets a visit -from a persistent, cute little mouse who just won't take NO for an answer and keeps popping up in the unlikeliest of places, much to the disgruntled Bear's annoyance. What happens eventually is the sweetest thing - friendship.

The book deftly handles the themes of loneliness and friendship, and the sentences are simply written - perfect for preschoolers. The illustrations are in watercolor and very beautiful with touches of humor, depicting the extremely annoyed Bear and the ever persistent Mouse to such an effect that one can't help but laugh out loud at their antics. Highly recommended and perfect for reading aloud.

Editorial Review:

Cheery persistence wears down a curmudgeonly bear in a wry comedy of manners that ends in a most unlikely friendship.

Bear is quite sure he doesn’t like visitors. He even has a sign. So when a mouse taps on his door one day, Bear tells him to leave. But when Bear goes to the cupboard to get a bowl, there is the mouse — small and gray and bright-eyed. In this slapstick tale that begs to be read aloud, all Bear wants is to eat his breakfast in peace, but the mouse — who keeps popping up in the most unexpected places — just won’t go away!

The point is to learn how to think 5 out of 5 stars.

"Can you help me?"
"Help you! You must help yourself," the dog replied, carefully winding himself with his left hind leg. "I suppose you know why you got stuck."
"I guess I just wasn't thinking," said Milo.
"PRECISELY," shouted the dog as his alarm went off again. "Now you know what you must do."
"I'm afraid I don't," admitted Milo, feeling quite stupid.
"Well," continued the watchdog impatiently, "since you got here by not thinking, it seems reasonable to expect that, in order to get out, you must start thinking."

Editorial Review:

Illustrated in black-and-white. We're celebrating the thirty-fifth anniversary (1996) of this modern kids' classic with a special hardcover edition! This ingenious fantasy centeres around Milo, a bored ten-year-old who comes home to find a large toy tollbooth sitting in his room. Joining forces with a watchdog named Tock, Milo drives through the tollbooth's gates and begins a memorable journey. He meets such characters as the foolish, yet lovable Humbug, the Mathemagician, and the not-so-wicked "Which," Faintly Macabre, who gives Milo the "impossible" mission of returning two princesses to the Kingdom of Wisdom...

Great for very young children 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My 12 month old's favorite book is "The Foot Book" by Dr. Seuss. So I bought her several other Dr. Seuss books for her birthday. She really likes this book. The other Dr. Seuss books that I purchased are a little long and wordy for her for right now, but "Hop on Pop" is perfect for this stage-and it's nice that it comes in board book form.

Classic early reader 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Let's note first that this book isn't actually intended as a readaloud book, nor is it intended for children much younger than the age of six.

The format of the book reflects this. It's a bit long for toddlers (who aren't known for having great attention spans), and the different spreads are disconnected - when a kid is at the age where they struggle to read "All, Ball, We All Play Ball", the last thing they need to worry about is what they read two pages before!

Can it be used as a readaloud? No doubt! But don't be disappointed if it doesn't work for you and your kid that way.

That said, this is a wonderful early reader. Simple rhyming text, with the main words in large print at the top of the page; and really funny illustrations.

I really suggest this one.

THE TALE OF A VERY PUSHY MOUSE! 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

This is the first offering of a wonderfully delightful series of like stories for children. If You Give a Mouse A Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff and illustrated by Felicia Bond tell the story, and the problems you might run into, if you should happen to give a overly active and demanding mouse a cookie. The story begins with a young boy innocently setting by his sidewalk in front of his house. A hungry mouse comes along and the problems begin.

This is a progressive type of tale, where one act of generosity keeps growing and growing. "If you give a mouse a cookie, he's going to ask for a glass of milk. When you give him milk, he'll probably ask you for a straw. When you give him a straw, he will ask........." And it goes on and on and on until the poor kid pretty well has a completely trashed house and is exhausted trying to fulfill the escalating requests and the subsequent mess the requests ultimately cause. A pushy mouse and cookies, we find, are not a good combination!

The text is delightfully simple and keeps you turning the pages, page after page. You actually find you self wanting to see what the little rodent is going to ask for next. The story is simple and there is no bang, bang, crash crunch plot nor ending. The only problem I find in this aspect is that in this day and age, I find some children (and even more adults), who have the attention span of ferrets on coffee and if the story is in the least bit mellow, their minds simply cannot track. This is a minor problem though, if it is indeed a problem.

The art work by Felicia Bond is quite well done and goes perfectly with the text. The pictures are simple to understand, cute and quite eye catching. I liked them.

This is one of in a series of books by this team. Others include If you give a Moose a Muffin, If you give a Pig a Pancake, If you take a Mouse to the Movies, If you take a Mouse to School and If you give a Pig a Party. All are as well done. I have noted in reading this book and others in the series that the kids love them and will always ask for repeat readings.

Great rhyme book! 5 out of 5 stars.

This is a great rhyming book with sight words. A wonderfully illustrated board book that is great for kids...especially those with parents who own Jeeps.

Toddler's delight 5 out of 5 stars.

What makes Sheep in a Jeep such a delight to read is its unabashed use of onomatopoeia. Indeed, some of my daughter's first words were "splash" and "thud" as she recited along this favorite story.

With every page Shaw's vivid vocabulary comes alive in perfectly-metered rhyme, adeptly complimented by Apple's whimsical illustrations. In a format just long enough to delight, and short enough to entertain, it's little wonder Sheep in a Jeep has been such a longstanding favorite.

I can't recommend it highly enough for your own little ones, and it makes a great baby shower gift inclusion!

This was our first Mo Willems book and my great grandchildren loved it!
Funny, well drawn, and contains a great lesson, too. We'll be adding to our Mo Willems library.

Not as interactive as other pigeon stories 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Our family loves all the pigeon stories. The Puppy version is very cute and kids can relate to the pigeon's plea. However this story has not been as much fun to read as the other pigeon stories because it is less interactive. In Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, kids get to enthusiastically tell the pigeon "no!" on almost every page which is most of the fun. This story does not give kids as much of an opportunity to play disciplinarian--a big and unusual role for a preschooler.

A Pigeon to identify with! 5 out of 5 stars.

The latest in the Mo Willems library of children's picture books has our favorite Pigeon begging for a puppy!

The great and bad thing about Mo Willems' books is that the pigeon exhibits some of our children's worst habits in how he pleads, begs, whines and demands that his needs are met. There was a time I stopped reading my daughter Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog!, The and Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late! because I felt that pigeon was helping to contribute to these bad habits. I decided, instead, that these books are great tools to show a child what NOT to do (by emphasizing that when discussing aspects of the book with your child) and to show a child how silly these behaviors look. Aside from that, these books are just plain fun!

Any child can identify with Pigeon's childish behaviors and crazy antics. I also would recommend that if you like the pigeon books, you pick up the Trixie books Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale (Bccb Blue Ribbon Picture Book Awards (Awards)) & Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity. Great, fun books to read.

Editorial Review:

He really, really, REALLY wants one. He'll take really good care of it! What's the matter--don't you want him to be happy?

Editorial Review:

The thinking's not fuzzy in these board books, but the animals certainly are. Sandra Boynton's familiar furry creatures introduce simple concepts in this bright collection of four books, replete with clever line drawings. In Horns and Toes and In Between, three horned monsters teach the parts of the body in rhyme: "...and we have a fuzzy TUMMY that we all like to pat / and a little BELLY BUTTON in the middle of that." The Going to Bed Book gets a Noah's Ark of animals organized for bed: "They hang their towels on the wall / and find pajamas, big and small." Opposites is just that: cute animals "high and low / fast and slow / heavy and light / day and night." In the rhyming reader But Not the Hippopotamus, a hippo finds himself on the outs as "a cat and two rats are trying on hats. / But not the hippopotamus. / A moose and a goose together have juice. / But not the hippopotamus." Rest assured the hippo finds love at the end. (Baby to preschool) --Claire Dederer

Fun and relatable 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This story is a quick and easy read with fun rhyming passages. I have a three year old and a two year old that love this book. They fight over who gets to read it in bed (So I bought them Llama Llama Mad at Momma so each could have one). The story goes through a typical night-time routine of just about every mom. Not only is it a cute read but it also has some really good passages that teach kids, like "Momma Llama's always near, even if she's not right here." It is one of those things that the kids like to hear. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a book to read young children. Reading it over and over again is not a chore, it is fun.

Llama, Llama red pajama waiting, waiting for his mama. Mama isn’t coming yet. Baby Llama starts to fret. In this infectious rhyming read-aloud, Baby Llama turns bedtime into an all-out llama drama! Tucked into bed by his mama, Baby Llama immediately starts worrying when she goes downstairs, and his soft whimpers turn to hollers when she doesn’t come right back. But just in time, Mama returns to set things right. Children will relate to Baby Llama’s need for comfort, as much as parents will appreciate Mama Llama’s reassuring message.

Christopher Chase's Favorite Book 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is outstanding! It is the best book I have ever read. I like it because it is gross and very funny! I give it five stars.

Not that great 2 out of 5 stars.
1 of 4 people found this review helpful.

After two or three of these books, the plot becomes dull and loses its humor. Also, I would not recommend these for children learning to read and write as they are filled with misspellings (picher for picture and shurely for surely). I don't quite get why this is supposed to be funny, but it's confusing and ultimately detrimental for my 8 year old.

Finally, parents take note: Pilkey has created a lucrative business based on potty humor and his inability to draw above a 3rd grade level. This is the junk food of the children's book industry. Many young children will find these books funny, but just as we don't allow our kids to eat candy and chips all day, these books should be limited.
