Editorial Review:

After staking out, obtaining, and then being forced to give up her first boyfriend, Josh, all Cammie Morgan wants is a peaceful semester. But that's easier said than done when you're a CIA legacy and go to the premier school in the world...for spies.

Cammie may have a genius IQ , but there are still a lot of things she doesn't know. Like, will her ex-boyfriend even remember she exists? And how much trouble is she really in after what happened last semester? And most of all, why is her mother acting so strangely?

Despite Cammie's best intentions to be a normal student, danger seems to follow her. She and her best friends learn that their school is going to play host to some mysterious guests--code name: "Blackthorne. Then she's blamed for a security breach that leaves the school's top-secret status at risk. Soon Cammie and her friends are crawling through walls and surveilling the school to learn the truth about Blackthorne and clear Cammie's name. Even though they have confidence in their spy skills, this time the targets are tougher (and hotter), and the stakes for Cammie's heart--and her beloved school--are higher than ever.

I just love this series. It is nice to have another author that is interested in writing clean and wholesome stories. Go Stephenie. My dauhgters got me reading this series and I bought this set for my mother, who has now read all the books and she has been passing her copies around the rest of the family. I would highly recommend these books, couldn't put them down.

Best Series I Have Ever Read~! 5 out of 5 stars.

In August of 2007, I was searching for books to read after Harry Potter. I came across an article about the Twilight Saga being the next HP. I wrote the title of the first book down for reading at a later date.

Fast forward to May of 2008. When starting my first year of college, a girl in my Psychology class was talking with me about her favorite books. She mentioned Twilight, and said I could borrow her copy to read it. I accepted her offer and gave the book a try. I was hooked from the first chapter. I bought all the books for myself and am completely obsessed! I may buy this package just to have it! But seriously, if you haven't read this wonderful series, this is the best way to get the first 3 books. And don't miss the movie on November 21st!

Editorial Review:

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse capture the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This stunning set includes three hardcover books, two full-color posters and exclusive tattoos, and makes the perfect gift for fans of this bestselling vampire love story.

Like most fairy tales this is an enjoyable one that ends with a happy ending. The plot is well written and you'll enjoy the elf's and fairies all the way. So open the book read and enjoy.

This is the fourth installment of the Artemis Fowl series and is an excellent addition

Another Excellent Artemis Fowl 5 out of 5 stars.

Purchased the Audio CDs for travel, and just like the other 3 books, Nathaniel Parker does an excellent job in narrating. If you enjoy Jim Dale (Harry Potter Series), you'll enjoy Nathaniel Park too.

Book 4 offers a ton of adventure and suspense, but also contains highs and lows in the story line. Like every Artemis Book, it leaves you wanting more.

Editorial Review:

I'm a sucker for the snarky creature 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

that hurtles across the chapters in this book. I don't want to give too much away, but he's called a homunculus. I loved the first book in this series, and I am glad the second one is just as good, just as witty, just as intelligent. Pseudonymous Bosch is even better at plotting the mystery, and adding complexity to the relationship between the young heroes, Cass and Max Ernest. They are joined by the intriguing Yo-Yoji, who looks like a Japanese anime character, even though he's American. He inadvertently complicates their friendship. Add that to the villainy of the villains....

Editorial Review:

Beware!

Dangerous secrets lie between the pages of this book.

OK, I warned you. But if you think I'll give anything away, or tell you that this is the sequel to my first literary endeavor, The Name of This Book is Secret, you're wrong.

I'm not going to remind you of how we last left our heroes, Cass and Max-Ernest, as they awaited intiation into the mysterious Terces Society, or the ongoing fight against the evil Dr. L and Ms. Mauvais. I certainly won't be telling you about how the kids stumble upon the Museum of Magic, where they finally meet the amazing Pietro!

Oh, blast! I've done it again. Well, at least I didn't tell you about the missing Sound Prism, the nefarious Lord Pharaoh, or the mysterious creature born in a bottle over 500 years ago, the key to the biggest secret of all.

I really can't help myself, now can I? Let's face it---if you're reading this, it's too late.

NANCY DREW 5 out of 5 stars.

NANCY DREW BOOKS BRING ME BACK TO THE 1950'S. I'VE INTRODUCED MY DAUGHTERS AND NOW MY OLDER GRANDAUGHTER. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO SHOW MY GRANDAUGHTER WHAT HER GRANDMOTHER DELIGHTED IN SO-O-O LONG AGO.

Timeless Nancy Drew 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Considering that the Nancy Drew series is 78 years old, I would say that it has stood the test of time. If you're not into the original series from 1930-1979 (56 books in all), there have been many updates and additional series spawned from this character. You may think old when you see these books, but the stories are great, there's always a little edge of danger, cliffhangers on each chapter and it shows young ladies a strong, independent character with drive and smarts. Plus, there's just a great vibe you get from handling the slim hardcover novels and looking the painted illustrations on the cover.

Editorial Review:

Teen sleuth Nancy Drew has been solving mysteries and delighting fans for over 60 years. You won't believe her daring escapades and narrow escapes.

What better way to introduce a girl to Nancy Drew then with the first 6 titles published in the series? This starter set includes; The Secret of the Old Clock, The Hidden Staircase, The Bungalow Mystery, The Mystery at Lilac Inn, The Secret of Shadow Ranch, The Secret of Red Gate Farm -- all at a great price.

Spectacular stories by a talented author!! 5 out of 5 stars.

The Alex Rider stories are perfect for anyone (really) interested in spy adventure. I listen to them being read on a British radio station--BBC 7--and I have gone out out and bought every one of Anthony Horowitz' novels.
Give them a try, I think you'll love them!

great spy novels 5 out of 5 stars.
13 of 14 people found this review helpful.

I bought this collection for my son, who is 9, and we have enjoyed reading through these books together. They are distinctly targeted at a preteen (or perhaps a teenage) audience but have enough intrigue and humor to capture my attention as well. He is the first kid in his school to hear of Alex Rider, but with the first movie coming out in the Spring I think the novels will find new life. Don't wait! Read them now!

Editorial Review:

New York Times bestseller Anthony Horowitz’s best-loved action series starring teen spy Alex Rider packs in the thrills and chills that readers love. Now the first three Alex Rider Adventures— Stormbreaker, Point Blank, and Skeleton Key—are gathered together in one box. Three times the adventure creates three times the fun!

Alex Rider Ark Angel 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Before you read the review of ARK ANGEL, you need to take into account that this is the sixth book in the engaging, entertaining, action-packed adventure series starring Alex Rider. If you haven't read the first five books in the series, you'll probably want to do that before you pick up ARK ANGEL. Although it can stand on its own, you'll feel more in the loop by reading the previous books first.

ARK ANGEL picks up immediately where SCORPIA, book five, left off. At the end of that book, we saw Alex Rider on the ground, wounded by a sniper's bullet. For those who thought that Anthony Horowitz was planning to kill off our favorite young MI6 agent, please be assured that ARK ANGEL does not in any way imply dead. Alex is alive and relatively well, recuperating in an exclusive private hospital in London. The sniper's bullet missed his heart, instead bouncing off a rib and exiting out his arm. Now, as he's recovering in posh room nine of the hospital, he becomes friends with Paul. The same Paul that turns out to be the son of Nikolai Drevin, one of the richest men in the world.

When Alex saves Paul during a kidnapping attempt, Nikolai invites Alex to finish his recuperation at his estate. Alex soon wonders at the wisdom of being in Drevin's company, however, when he learns that an eco-terrorist group known as Force Three has threatened not only the Drevin family, but the safety of the entire world.

Nikolai Drevin's latest project, Ark Angel, is in full swing. Designed to become the first ultimate luxury hotel in outer space, it contains everything the world's richest people could want. It's also, at least according to Force Three, a threat to the environment of Earth as we know it. Now the members of the terrorist group are out to stop Ark Angel from ever opening, and they'll do anything--and everything--they can to see their mission come to completion. Even if it means hurtling the hotel back through the atmosphere and onto Earth's surface.

ARK ANGEL is another action-adventure read that will keep you turning pages right through to the end. Alex Rider has come a long way since the fourteen-year old boy roped into complying with MI6, but there's part of him that's still determined to leave the spy organization for good. Yet he knows that his skills are needed, and the unending action of ARK ANGEL show in detail why that is. You won't go wrong with any of the books in the Alex Rider series, and I can say that I'm excited about the opening of the movie STORMBREAKER, the first Alex Rider adventure, which is in development now.

Editorial Review:

The sniper’s bullet nearly killed him. But Alex Rider managed to survive . . . just in time for more trouble to come his way. When kidnappers attempt to snatch a fellow patient from the exclusive hospital where Alex is recovering, he knows he has to stop him. But the boy he saves is no ordinary patient: He is the son of Nikolai Drevin, one of the richest men in the world. The eccentric billionaire has been targeted by Force Three, a group of eco-terrorists who claim his project Ark Angel—the first luxury hotel in outer space—is a danger to the environment. Soon Alex discovers that Force Three will stop at nothing to destroy Ark Angel, even if it means sending four hundred tons of molten glass and steel hurtling down to Earth and killing millions . . . unless Alex can stop them.

One of the Greats 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

If children's literature was truly given its due, this would go down as one of the Great American Novels. A zany adventure for kids and a brilliant social satire for grown-ups, this novel encaptures the rites of childhood and the life of the upper-class in Kennedy Era New York City. But it for the kids, but be sure to sneak a read for yourself.

A Story of a Brat with Very Little Action 2 out of 5 stars.
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Here's another book from four decades ago that doesn't hold up well compared to today's superior children's books. I was yearning for way more action. And definitely more wackiness. There are a few wacky and clever happenstances yet I wanted more of that and less of Harriet sitting around thinking, complaining and writing, thinking, writing and complaining. The first half of the book was okay, but after that I lost interest. Harriet was not interesting enough, for me anyway, to care about what happened to her. The pages got harder and harder to turn as the book went on.

This is a work of the early 1960s when many people felt suppressed and angry. That anger, for some, turned into selfishness. This attitude found its way into Harriet. She is a selfish and angry brat. (Whether the author was angry or just commenting on society at the time, I don't know.)

I can only guess that the book's comment on society at the time is what won it the acclaim that it has gotten over the years. For children and adults of 1964, perhaps it was a groundbreaking, gutsy read. But today, it's just a story of an angry, self-centered child that is not very interesting nor exciting to read.

Editorial Review:

Eleven-year-old Harriet keeps notes on her classmates and neighbors in a secret notebook, but when some of the students read the notebook, they seek revenge.

Makes you want to read all the books in the series 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I was intrigued by the first chapter as it described a killing by Ariana Osgood who is a privileged student at Easton Academy. What drove her to kill her lover? She appears to have it all on the surface but hidden depths compell her to protect what she deems is hers.
She falls in love with Thomas Pearson during Christmas break and tries desperately to hide it from her current boyfriend Daniel who seems perfect for her. They are not supposed to be on campus so they must sneak around and hide from staff. Daniel is waiting for Ariana to join him to meet his parents but by the time she does she is plotting how to break up with him so she can be with Thomas. What happens when they return to school after the break ends with Pearson's chilling death and makes you want to read the rest of the books to find out what happens with Ariana and if she is found out as a murderess.

Editorial Review:

Ariana Osgood has everything an Easton Academy girl could want: straight A's, the perfect boyfriend, and a coveted spot in exclusive Billings House. But on the first night of Christmas vacation, a blizzard traps her on campus with irresistible bad-boy Thomas Pearson. Alone. Instead of snuggling with her boyfriend next to a cozy fire in Vermont, she's huddling for warmth with Thomas in Ketlar House.

As the snow transforms Easton into a winter wonderland, Ariana finds herself falling for Thomas. But someone is watching their clandestine romance unfold, someone intent on turning their holiday weekend into a nightmare...

Last Christmas reveals the secret of what really happened before Private began -- and the shocking truth will change everything for fans of Kate Brian's bestselling series.

A Book Review From a Spiritridge Third Grader 5 out of 5 stars.
7 of 9 people found this review helpful.

Do you want to read an amazing book? Well you should read the Box Car Children. There are four young children and they are really poor. They do not have food. Then they do not know what to do. Well, they run away from their house because they thought their dad did not like them. They found a boxcar. So they thought that the boxcar might take them somewhere, but it didn't pull them. The father was trying to find them but they did not want to be found.

What I like is that when they try to find food and on their way they found a hound. I like that part because I like dogs and I think they're cute.

I recommend this book to other readers who are in 2nd grade or 3rd grade because it is just right.
