LOVED ALL THE BOOKS 5 out of 5 stars.

Great books gave them as a present to my younger sister and she loved them.

Receive the book on time 4 out of 5 stars.

The book was delivered on time. My daughter wants to read the series in order, but she didn't receive book 2 yet, so she hasn't read the book yet.

Editorial Review:

There's a new vampire in town. His name is Valentine Maxwell. Goth-girl Raven knows this latest intruder can only mean trouble—he's the younger sibling of two vampires she fought to drive out of Dullsville. But when her brother, Billy, befriends this dangerous tween night prowler, the stakes are suddenly higher. Though torn by the excitement of every teen girl's fantasy—attending the prom with her boyfriend—Raven must do everything she can to protect Billy.

Valentine's appearance may pose even further threats. Could he somehow know Raven's innermost feelings about becoming immortal for her true love, Alexander? The far-from-ordinary romance of these two teen outsiders takes another surprise-filled spin in the fourth book of Ellen Schreiber's applauded Vampire Kisses series.

Another great book in an awesome series 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I love this series! It's impossible to put down. You must start with Book One, and you'll eagerly move on to Book Two. Each installment is filled with spine-tingling action, but I think its greatest strength are the characters, which are very complex and interesting. The main character, Thomas Ward, is as authentic and likeable as Harry Potter. The storyline is so unique, I was never sure which way the story would turn, which kept me turning pages well past my bedtime. I also admire the author's writing style. The voice is simple and sincere, which contrasts nicely with the dark, twisted setting. I'm a devoted fan of this series and spreading the word to my book-loving friends! The Last Apprentice is a great series! Especially for boys over the age of 10.

Editorial Review:

"I've already drunk my fill of blood, so live a little longer. Breathe for a while and watch what's about to unfold."

Thomas Ward has spent two years as the Spook's apprentice. He's faced unimaginable peril, and survived. But a new danger has emerged: an ancient water witch, Bloodeye, is roaming the County intent on destroying everything in her path. To strengthen his skills, Tom is sent to the far north to train with the demanding Bill Arkwright. Arkwright lives in a haunted mill on the edge of a treacherous marsh, and his training methods prove to be harsh and sometimes cruel. Will Tom's new bag of tricks be enough to overcome a critical mistake that leaves him confronting Bloodeye on his own?

My Three-Year Old Nephew Loves This Book 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My nephew loves Scooby Doo, but he has a rather short attention span, so I was a little worried that this book wouldn't be read much. However, he will sit still for a full story, so this book turned out to be a great gift.

kids love it but long stories 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

The stories are very long but the kids absolutely love Scooby and usually pick this book out for bedtime reading. The only problem I have is that each story has a different font and some of the fonts are squiggly and hard to read and make my eyes water and blur and it's hard to focus. It's weird but if you have the book you'll know what I mean!

Great Value 5 out of 5 stars.

Good Plot and Story 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I had wished the author had gone further into the ending then she did, but all in all it was a riviting story and kept you turning the page--this would make a great movie if the plot were stretched further to make the ending more complete as far as "closure" goes. It just felt like it left you hanging but all in all a great story for it's age group.

Perfectly haunting 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

My ten-year-old daughter and I loved this book! The story has so many elements that come together to make it a great read - mystery, conflict, good old-fashioned villain who eventually makes good, friendship, love, grief, and the perfect degree of thrill for the age group it is intended for. Throw in a couple cats and a lovely ending and what more can you ask for. We hated to put this book down.

The book does a particularly admirable job tackling the issues of death and grief, and also makes the reader consider the thought of a spirit world so perhaps this might make younger, more sensitive readers uncomfortable. The writing makes for a descriptive and realistic read despite the ghost story, but there are moments of adult language poking through 10-year-old Ashley's thoughts and I did think the sudden, seemingly complete turnaround of Ms. Cooper was a bit unusual. Nonetheless, the author has created a delightful book that will haunt the mind and heart and leave the reader with warm fuzzies in the end.

Editorial Review:

When Ashley discovers a turn-of-the-century doll it is just the first of several puzzling events that lead her through the hedge and into a twilight past where she meets Louise, an ailing child whose beloved doll has mysteriously disappeared.

A Certain Slant of Light 5 out of 5 stars.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this unique novel about a ghost. It was an enjoyable tale of a lonely 130 year old ghost who discovers a human can see her for the first time. Don't want to ruin the story but it was a good read with an interesting twist. I highly recommend it. Has a wonderful surprise ending - loved it. You will not be dissappointed.

It captured my heart 5 out of 5 stars.

Oksy, first being an artist myself, I must give props to the cover artist. As many rules as it may break, I have to say that the feeling I got when I looked at the cover of this book is what made me buy it. I thought even if it is a bad read the cover is amazing so it's worth the money. But thankfully I can say that I was not disapointed. This was a great book I read it in about 5 hours. I fell in love with the characters, although I wish their story was a little more established. It was written beautifully, very poetic. And I thought the end was going to upset me because it seemed to be coming so fast with so few questions answered, but I was not disapointed. It was a very satisfying love filled ending. It's worth the money and the few hours it takes to read. Go ahead and enjoy.

Editorial Review:

In the class of the high school English teacher she has been haunting, Helen feels them: for the first time in 130 years, human eyes are looking at her. They belong to a boy, a boy who has not seemed remarkable until now. And Helen—terrified, but intrigued—is drawn to him. The fact that he is in a body and she is not presents this unlikely couple with their first challenge. But as the lovers struggle to find a way to be together, they begin to discover the secrets of their former lives and of the young people they come to possess.

Wonderfully Crafted Book 5 out of 5 stars.
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

My daughter loves ghosts, bats, spiders, and anything related to Halloween, so we purchased this book recently. It has been a big hit. Not only is it well written, the illustrations are wonderful. The pictures are so detailed that my daughter is constantly discovering new things in them. She loved "Goodnight Moon," so she can relate to the text as well. This book is incredibly well done. It's fun for adults as well as kids.

Editorial Review:

Goodnight monsters everywhere, in this parody romp with its own special twist!

“Goodnight tomb. Goodnight goon. Goodnight Martians taking over the moon.”

It’s bedtime in the cold gray tomb with a black lagoon, and two slimy claws, and a couple of jaws, and a skull and a shoe and a pot full of goo. But as a little werewolf settles down, in comes the Goon determined at all costs to run amok and not let any monster have his rest.

A beloved classic gets a kind-hearted send up in this utterly monsterized parody; energetic art and a hilarious text will have kids begging to read this again and again.

Disappointing 2 out of 5 stars.
5 of 6 people found this review helpful.

After almost a decade, R.L. Stine brings Goosebumps back! And what better way to inaugurate the new series than with new adventures of Slappy the Dummy, the series' most popular character? Sadly, R.L. Stine drops the ball with the series debut, creating a disappointing rehash of the previous Slappy books.

The first Night of the Living Dummy was a brilliant book which set the standard for future Goosebumps book - well-written, suspenseful and occasionally even frightening. Parts II and III were pretty good follow-ups, and Bride of the Living Dummy was almost as good as the original, and easily the best of the Series 2000 books. Slappy's Nightmare was a bit too tongue-in-cheek but did put an interesting spin on the plot thread.

But Revenge of the Living Dummy slavishly adheres to the Dummy formula. The dummy shows up, nasty things happen, kid is unfairly blamed, it turns out to be a prank, THEN the dummy REALLY comes to life, and so on. There are a few twists - the main character isn't the one blamed for the dummy's activity, and the finale - but nothing really worth mentioning. It's a really disappointing, formulaic, by-the-numbers Goosebumps book. We can only hope that the future installments will improve on it, especially as the recurring plot and characters are introduced.

Editorial Review:

Fright-master R.L. Stine invites you on an all-new, all-terrifying adventure!

The thrill ride begins when 12-year-old Britney Crosby encounters an old ventriloquist's dummy with a lively secret--and a wicked plan.

Just when she thinks the nightmare is over, Britney receives an invitation to an amusement park where everything is not as it seems. Who--or what--is summoning ordinary kids to HorrorLand? Britney and her friends must find out fast--or remain trapped forever in the scariest place on Earth.

Editorial Review:

Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go -- especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil -- and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings -- and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

In this breathtaking sequel to City of Bones, Cassandra Clare lures her readers back into the dark grip of New York City's Downworld, where love is never safe and power becomes the deadliest temptation.

Alot of fun to read 4 out of 5 stars.

This is a fun book I enjoy reading to my children. It is much shorter than the movie but its a great quick read before bedtime. Another great book I recommend is The Url King, by Beau Beaudoin. He has that same macabre yet silly style as Tim Burton, also written in rhyme and the illustrations are incredible.

IF YOU LOVED THE MOVIE, BUY THIS! 5 out of 5 stars.

i idolize the movie so i bought the book and was very happy, it has a different story then the movie so fans will enjoy it...

Anything that can get my 10-year-old to read is welcome in my house. This series not only has him reading, it has him sneaking a flashlight under the covers so he can read in bed. Hmmmmm ... I'll allow it!

Santa will definitely bring him the rest of the series.

Now lets move on to book 5 and end at 8! 2/3's done! 5 out of 5 stars.
