This is the first Omartian book I have read, and I love it. The breakdown is short easy chapters, so I can read a few minutes and still cover a topic. Great advise and insights are on every page. I also plan to use it as a reference/refresher when I need advice.

I was definately disappointed with this devotional. While I appreciated the lighthearted, uplifting approach to daily quiet times I was hoping for something with more depth and insight. I was worried that each daily reading was based on a single verse rather than within the context of a biblical passage. This led to (in my humble opinion) some writings that were slighly out of context with the original meaning of the verse within the biblical passage. Needless to say I'm back on the market for a new daily devotional.

Unfortunately this book was not at all what I was expecting. Next time I will be sure to make use of the samples amazon posts. All in all it's not a bad book just not what expected. I thought it was an actual daily devotional with daily study guide information but it is just a story for every day of the year.

A beautifully written book you will use for many years! 5 out of 5 stars.

I was a little worried that this was just another book about how to become the perfect date, girlfriend, or wife, but I was delightfully surprised to find that the authors focus on a woman as being already complete in Christ; marriage and a family are just the wonderful icing on the cake! So I bought a copy for each one of the high school and college-age girls in our group and we have been reading it together all summer--we can't put it down! The book does a wonderful job of warning women about the dangers of having our lives revolve around the pursuit of a man, and encourages us to trust the Lord with the desires of our heart and to use our single time to know Him better and to love others. I recommend this book for any woman, young or old, single, divorced, or married!

This book is a treasury of wisdom from one who lived a radical life of poverty and service so that she could be more effective at bringing Jesus to "the poorest of the poor in their holes on the streets."

Easily read, and with pictures from her life, this book is well organized. While "Mother Teresa: Come Be my Light" would be a much more complete and in-depth book on this (probable) saint, that one is also a much heavier read.

This book, "In My Own Words," is much more easily digested and serves as both a good introduction to this saintly life, and as a source of pithy pearls of wisdom in readily grasped and inspirational morsels.

This book belongs on the shelf of all Christians to serve as inspiration and guide in our treatment of others, and indeed, of any who desire, no matter their religious affiliation (or lack thereof), to serve their fellow human beings.

Her undying faith and concern of the human spirit is reflected in these passages. In her years of work, Mother Teresa has brought God to millions in places of darkness. Why would a "Christian" author defend a man to look at women in bikinis?
This aspect of the book is rotten. I am throwing mine in the garbage. If a man truly loves God, he will seek the mind of Christ and refuse to do something that he knows offends his wife!

I was a little on the fence about this book because I really didnt think it would help. We are not married yet, but this book has helped a lot to see each other out in the open. It has also showed us what the other thinks about us and what we can work on as a couple.

Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts is the pre-marital book and companion workbooks our church uses with all our couples who plan to be married. A "season" couple goes through the book with the engaged couple, meeting many times the 6 months prior to their wedding. This mentoring process has proved to be a wonderful experience for both couples, and times together carry on well past the wedding day. The newlyweds now have a couple that have invested time with them, other than their parents, which has been a blessing to them.

i bought this as a mother's day gift for my daughter. It hit home for me. I wanted to share a word with my daughter. She is a wonderful mother and wife, but we all soemtimes forget the gift we have been given from The Lord as a woman.
