Another excellent book by Eric Carle 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

This book is among my daughter's favorites. She is nearly two years old and has already dog-eared and torn some pages, she literally has enjoyed the book to pieces. This has turned out to be a perfect book for her because she absolutely loves the moon. Seattle winter's don't offer many opportunities for even glimpses of the moon. It's also about a girl and her papa which is something nice for my husband to share with her. Don't expect this book to physically withstand the curious hands of infants. It's not tough like a board book!

Teeny tiny book, cute message 3 out of 5 stars.

This book is really small!
Cute, but if you are getting it for a toddler they may need some supervision to make sure the pages don't get torn.
Also a bit expensive for what you are getting..

Editorial Review:

Monica wants the moon to play with, so her Papa sets out to get it. It isn't easy to climb to the moon, but he finally succeeds -- only to find the moon is too big to carry home. Children will love the joyful way in which this problem is solved.

Now available as a Classic Board Book edition, this delightful story literally unfolds as pages open dramatically, extending both outward and upward.

Fun Book 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

This is a great book to read to your baby, just don't let him or her eat it!!
My daughter loves it and pays attention b/c she recognizes all the "words"!

Extremely dissapointed 1 out of 5 stars.
0 of 2 people found this review helpful.

My daughter loves where is baby's belly button book so I thought she would enjoy this; but I was wrong. I am returning this book immediatley. We teach our 14 month old to speak correctly and this book promotes made up baby talk. I would highly discourage buying this book if your child is first learning to talk.

Cute book, too "baby-ish" for my 1 year old 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I bought several of the books in this series and all were great, however this one was too baby-ish for my one-year old who is learning new words everyday...this books seems to reenforce baby-talk with "ba-ba" for bottle and goo-goo... this might be good for a 6-9month old.

My daughter loves it! 5 out of 5 stars.

I had reservations about this book at first because my daughter is 16 months old (14 months when we bought it) and we're trying to teach her to talk, not say random sounds. But my daughter fell in love with it. Her favorite page is the one that asks "What does the busy baby say?" and then you lift the flap and it says "Uh Oh." She's gotten to the point that she can anticipate which page "Uh Oh" is on and she'll say it before she even lifts the flap. Although the words, like baba (bottle) are a little too young for her, I think this book is still a great book for all babies and toddlers because it helps them to start remembering and anticipating the words on each page. I'm very satisfied with all of the Karen Katz books that we own, but this one is by far my and my daughter's favorite.

Editorial Review:

A cranky baby says...

"Waah-waah!"

A cuddly baby says...

"Ma-ma!"

Karen Katz's distinctive illustrations bring baby's words to life! Lift the flaps in this sturdy board book to see what a hungry baby, a happy baby, and more say!

Beautiful photos and unique textures 5 out of 5 stars.
13 of 14 people found this review helpful.

All of the DK (publisher) books have gorgeous photographs, and this one is no exception. The photos are sharp and bright and the animals are highlighted against a white background, which makes them look like they are about to jump off the page. The textures in this book are really unique too. So many of the touch and feel books have all the same textures (fur, sandpaper, etc). This book has really unique and interesting textures (e.g. a cool, rubbery, soft, smooth surface for the dolphin - it really feels like the skin of sea mammals I have touched; and a bumpy shiny surface for the lizard skin). My 14 month old daughter really enjoys feeling all the different textures and "reading" this book to herself. Highly recommended.

Editorial Review:

Irresistible to the very young, these delightful new novelty books feature young children's favorite animals with different tactile patches to feel and explore. Simple text and bright pictures provide talking points for parent and child. These sturdy books are perfect for little hands to hold and feel, over and over again.

Great Bath Toy! 5 out of 5 stars.

My son has all the baby einstein bath books and they are his favorites by far. Cute little educational stories and bright pictures!

happy, bouncy poetry 5 out of 5 stars.

Wonderful book. Both my kids (one year and three) love the rhythm - my 3 year old has it memorized, the baby starts to smile as I start the first verse. The illustrations are bright and cheerful - very eye-catching for a baby. There is no way a baby/toddler could not love this book!

Don't let the baby chew on it! 1 out of 5 stars.

This book is made of toxic plastic. You have probably heard the latest news about plastic stuff. I already forgot which one because I threw mine out. I don't know maybe now they started making it of some other material but I bought mine in 2005.

Always puts a smile on baby 5 out of 5 stars.

I got this book as a gift when my baby was about a month old. I've read it to her at bathtime everyday since and it still makes her laugh. (She's 7 months old now.)

Editorial Review:

Charming illustrations and playful rhythmic verse make real-life learning fun by taking babies and toddlers on an adventurous discovery of water and its many sources. Squeezable and floatable, Water, Water, Everywhere can be enjoyed in and out of the tub.

Great for small fans of the movie! 5 out of 5 stars.
4 of 5 people found this review helpful.

My two year old who's favorite show is Cars loves these books. They are very simple books that each tell a watered down portion of the story. Each book is from a different character's POV from the movie; Lightning, Mater, Sally, and Doc.

The books are very sturdy which is great for when one of my children decides to get rough with them. The little case they come in is cute and while my boy likes carrying it around, it's made of a much thinner cardboard and I can tell it won't last very long.

All in all, I'm very happy with this product.

Fun for my little one! 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

We love this book. Very fun for my toddler to turn each page with the hole in the middle, and easy to understand. A lot of books for his age have so much going on on each page. Liked this one with it's simple, yet just detailed enough illustrations, and educational play on words. Too bad about the last page...difficult to pull and easily torn, even though we tried so hard to be careful.

Editorial Review:

With its simple rhyming text, vibrant pictures, "peekaboo" windows, and small board-book format, Ready, Set, Go! is ideal for curious young minds and hands. On alternating two-page spreads, the words "ready/set" are repeated, opposite an illustrated page with a die-cut hole. Readers guess what's behind each window, then turn the page to discover the text ("ROW!," "BLOW," "GROW!" etc.) and charming illustrations of a comically desperate sailor oaring away from circling sharks, a little girl blowing luminous bubbles. There's also a fantastic spinning flower that changes from yellow to purple with the turn of a tab. The book is sturdy enough to withstand the many happily clutching fingers that are bound to make their way into the baby-fist-size holes. For more peekaboo fun, investigate Nina Laden's Peek-a Who?. Classic Story is Retold With a Fun, New Ending and Beautiful Pictures 4 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Matti waits for gingerbread to be made while he thumbs through a cookbook. A gingerbread baby, much like the classic childhood tale, pops out the oven, and scampers across the room. Household havoc soon follows as Matti's family tries to catch the escaped snack.

The gingerbread baby leads everyone outside and down the road, creating a mess along the way. The entire town is up in arms, tempted by the gingerbread baby's poetic taunts:

"I'm the Gingerbread Baby.
Catch me if you can!"

How will the gingerbread baby be caught? Can Matti save the day?

Beautiful colored drawings fill each page, with many two-page spreads. There is winter atmosphere, from the fire-filled hearth, to snow flowing over mountaintops, to the sugar-crusted gingerbread house. Creative and active, the pictures meet well with the story.

The pictures sometimes overtake the type. Although set in Breughel (like Times New Roman) in what appears to be 14 pt., the contrast is occasional weak, making the story difficult to read in a few places.

I fully recommend "Gingerbread Baby" by Jan Brett. It is one of the good ones.

Anthony Trendl
editor, HungarianBookstore.com

Editorial Review:

Jan Brett's highly original version of the Gingerbread Boy story has quickly become a family classic. Now, the charming tale of Matti's clever trap for the runaway Gingerbread Baby is available as a beautiful board book for younger readers. And it still features a surprise lift-the-flap gingerbread house at the end!

Entertaining 5 out of 5 stars.

These little books are the first books that my 4 and half months old son was introduced to at an early age of 2 months. He was mesmerized by the ladybug book because the puppet was black in colour (The first colour babies can see are black and white) and he loved watching it moves while i read the book for him, now he is 4 and a half months and He loves all of them, i don't leave the house without taking one book with me to entertain him while we are out in a restaurant or visiting friends. I highly recommend this item.

Fun Books! 4 out of 5 stars.

My son at 6 months really was not into books. This series uses small puppets that can be wiggled with each page keeping kids interst. The stories are nothing special but the illustrations are bright and colorful. I have since bought a set as a gift for a friend.

Editorial Review:

Four charming friends for baby! Includes 4 finger puppet board books (Little Bee, Little Ladybug, Little Lamb, and Little Duck). Sweet, simple rhyming text and interactive finger puppets combine for hours of delightful play. Each book is 4.50 x 4.50 x 1 inches, 12 pages, and full color. Ages infant to 3 years.

One of my daughter's favorites 5 out of 5 stars.

This is one of the better "Touch and Feel" books. Like all of the books in the series, the book contains different textures like "scales" for the fish and fur for the dog. My daughter loved the photographs of the recognizable animals. Reading this book also facilitated her speech, as she was soon able to say the animal names.
